It's a beautiful Spring day. The pups just went for a romp in a field of wildflowers. I got in a little knitting this morning with that beautiful light. Next up, plant a few seed in the garden. Might make that Peach Kuchen I've been threatening to.

What will happen will happen with or without my worrying about it. My Serenity is my most prized possession and not much disturbs it these days.

I feel like I am living at the fringes of the Roman Empire in the last days of an Age. Almost a past life memory sort of thing.

Hardly anyone is even voting.
I think people have too much happening right now, whether in their lives or just their minds.

I only voted a little concerned due to the financial implications.
Just because were sitting good here I see its hurting a lot of people more than us.
Shit is going to start to reopen soon if the .gov wants it to or not.

This must still be a regional thing.
I've been doing weekly pickups from the grocery store where they shop and just push the cart out to you.
Order have been missing things here and there. Today the only thing I did not get was a package of oreos.

Granted I have not tried to order flour or yeast but no trouble with.
Milk
Bread
Fresh veggies
Frozen veggies
Meat(none on this order besides Jones sausage) I'm pretty stocked.

One of the items I did not get for 3 consecutive orders until last week was flour tortillas.

Edit to add
I've never really done this before this crap show.
Apparently the way it used to work is they would txt you if there was something missing to ask about substitutions. Their to busy so they stopped doing it.

I think my order's may have improved because I put comments on most items about substitutions would take.
On the gallon of milk I would say half gallons are fine, or store brand ok, or non organic was fine on the bananas.

I'm not worried with about the virus but the lock down has me a bit concerned,if things don't start moving soon recovery is going to be hard to start.

I dunno. Think there needs to be another choice or two.

We're somewhere between watchful and glued but at the same time making movements towards higher preps and gettin' to da house in da woods permanently.

How about this one too?

'Watchful, focused, making purposeful moves towards digging in' or something like that.

See my post on the Shortages thread:

For the most part, the store looked nearly normal. There was even some TP and paper towels. Not the ones I usually get, but something.

Watchful here. I'm not panicking, but I know how the evil ones like to use situations like this to their advantage. Quietly preparing to the best of my ability and trying to get my spiritual ducks in order.

Somewhere between watchful and glued but a closer to watchful. As I stated in the last poll, preps were already topped off when things were looking dicey with Iran.

We've been keeping items topped off as needed or when they're available

Personally I think this is far from over and what was "normal" is gone and there will additional issues down the road.

I don't think the options to choose from fit this situation very well.
But for these particular polls to mean anything when compared to each other they cannot be changed.

At this particular time, I would pick the option "Comfortable right now but I expect the other (economic) shoe to drop at any moment which could be TEOTWAWKI". :)

So far it looks like we have backed off from the high of 2.75 indicated on the last poll (#58). I ratcheted back to the usual watchful and ready, but also have an eye toward a fall resurgence. So agree this situation appears to show a need for a new selection on the poll; but not sure how that would work re stats. Thanks for posting it, Topusaret; it's nice to sort of get the temperature of the gang here.

I wish that I had a bunker, someplace out in the mountains,
far away from the hell that is coming.

With no bunker, my only option was #4.

In all my 64 years, I have never seen it this bad.

Watergate, Iran-Contra, 9-11, whatever national scandal
or emergency, nothing was at this level.

Its almost like everyone is going to die of COVID-19,
the media has over-hyped this to the point where,
peoples are locked down, and now the entire world's
economy is in shambles.

What are they going to do next, if they do not get the
results that they are looking for, with COVID-19?

Please be safe everyone.

Regards to all.

I agree. I think this poll was designed more as a precursor. I pretty much think, due to the asshattery of TPTB, we are in the thick of it so precursor anxiety would not match up.

Six of one, half dozen of another. We know what each other means. LOL

I am optimistic. Conditions not at all bad. Enjoying more take out BBQ than normal. Hopeful that the US will come out stronger, and more people aware of media bias. As a bonus, maybe massive US debt forgiveness... sort of a reset.

As far as major crises go, this one is easy, and may be a good dry run to see where we need to improve.

In my lifetime, the only event to come close to this level of present day angst and fright was the Cuban Missle Crisis. However, China brings me more worry today than the russians ever did.

I'm glued to the screen.

Exactly. We found a couple holes in our plan. Nothing serious but now we got that stuff fixed so we are ready for what is coming.

Just watching, preps in good shape, staying at home, plenty to do outside.
More concerned about the economy, we are retired, wishing things were going to settle down and people get back to work.

Well untill dewine declared the shut down I was kind of freaking out as I working a 100 miles from home and staying in a motel and having to get take out food .and being in a high population center .and having a pre-existing lung condition..employer offered no ppe ..been staying home in my very low populated county now .

I voted concerned, I realized that I am pretty well prepared, when this began, Id avoid reading threads here, but after a month or more, I find that I am very well set, have enough food to last a very long time, even if all my kids and grandkids come here, only reason I been going to store is to replace what i use, and usually wind up adding more anyway.

Right now, I feel a lot better than I did when this started, I know what I have works, and am ready for what happens,

My "normal" never includes more than one trip off the property a week, so it's no problem to be out here and watch from afar. Except: all the propaganda/mind-control crap is not accurate to eyes on, feet on the ground observations. First trip over the mountain happened this week; first time in 6 weeks. Way more normal than I expected.

I alternate between watching the political sideshow and worry over the economy... and starting my gardens earlier than normal.

I am anxious about what the financial future will be, but since I can do nothing about it or the virus, I'm continuing with watchful. I'm certainly not glued to the news reports, in fact, I only allow myself to watch once a day. I'm on week 5 of stay at home and 6 or 7 weeks since I did any grocery or other shopping. That's what prepping is all about, the ability to stay at home and not be part of the problem.

For those so angry at the stay at home request/order, I consider it my duty to my fellow citizens more than a demand by .gov. How would I feel should I be responsible for spreading the disease and causing someone to die? Not good I can tell you.

I'm still at 'glued to the screen'. Yeah the numbers look good in one way, but a long way from this being 'better'.

With everyone getting giddy over opening back up, I think it will swing back to real bad real fast. People won't social distance because they are so glad to be released from their houses and boom! And we have no idea the reinfection rate or if it just lies dormant and comes back. Then we have the food processing plants problem which I think the food shortages will be with us for a long time and way worse than what we have been experiencing.

Guess I better drag my doomer butt back into my hidey hole.

No worries at this point. We went over our preps more than a month ago and we figured we have enough in our working pantry to last us for a year or more and we have not put much of a scratch in our supplies as we are working on the freezers first and have a ways to go but eating good up to now, the BBQ is getting used and gotta love it.

After 48 hours, the poll stands at 2.16. I have pretty much decided that subsequent polls will run 2 days instead of 3. Clearly not much interest or score change after the first 24-36 hours, as I consistently find the thread on page 2 or 3 after 12 hours. Any good arguments against that change?

The 59th poll finishes up at 2.16. Thank you to all who voted and replied. Obviously, a huge drop in numbers over the last one.

Watch for the next one, which will run two days, instead of three.
