Same here. I am three hours from Nashville where the first case in TN is. No doubt the herd will start to move now that we have a case in TN

If a case is ever reported in Memphis, that's gonna be close enough for me! Memphis is only about 1 1/2 hours away. There are tour busses that run from Tupelo to Memphis and back on a daily basis to visit Elvis Presley landmarks and sites.

Watchful and ready. They just confirmed the first case here in Sin City this morning. We have so many international travelers and cash flow probably more than any other city I can think of. The minute they say- quarantine at home I am ready. I already do not go a lot of places but my daughter has a performance this weekend and I am worried. It's her EP release so I have to go and she can't cancel it. Lot's of hand sanitizer.

Virus is hitting too close to home; my new fella & his D were contacted by SC CDC, that they've had contact with a person, who's had contact with a relative that returned to the state from Washington State. So far; not a CONFIRMED case... but my guy has enough health issues.

My state has no reports; so far.

But, as Narwhal said - I feel like much of the hype surrounding the virus and the ensuing shopping panic, may just be a distraction and later justification, for a global economic reset. GAO is making a report to Congress this week about just how unsustainable US debt & deficit is. Earliest date for one of the gov programs to be unable to continue is now 2024. So yeah, end game... at least for awhile.

I have always voted in the middle but this time I stepped it up to "glued". I have a bad feeling about the banks. Too much financial stuff is screwy and getting worse.

Well, I am "glued to the screen". Mainly because our son is at a large college with lots of Chinese students. Was breathing a sigh of relief that we'd gone thins long with no reports of the virus in this area, but now, here comes spring break and son says many of the students he's around (not just Chinese) are talking about the overseas trips they have planned!!! One girl is going to London and Spain.

On a better note, he was talking to his Chinese professor and the prof told him that a conference he had planned to attend in Denver has been canceled due to the virus. Also, he said he will not be taking two other planned trips overseas because of the virus. Added that he's thinking of teaching his classes online after spring break. I'm hoping others will do the same.

I'd be quite happy to hole up indefinitely. Other than a visit to the neighbor's house a mile up the road, I haven't left the farm since a couple of weeks before Christmas. Before that, it was October to pick up some dairy goats. There's nothing out there that I'm pining to see.

This too shall pass.
I voted watchful and ready. We can be holed up in our ‘bunker’, ie, self-isolated at home with a padlock on the gate, at a moment’s notice, however. I have enough supplies on hand to just stay home for at least two or three months without any hardship.

Watchful and ready as much looks as if it will happen but has not yet. Getting closer to glued but am saving that for more crazy times. Perhaps glued by next week.

Not glued, but that could change at any moment. Agree with above. The negative interest rate issues have me spooked, and am expecting something *hinkey* soon with the banks. Lynette Zang used to give warnings about the small print on mortgage contracts - how they could if they wanted to, call in all the loans. Not sure that will happen; not sure what will happen, but after the surreal actions of the Chinese authorities, seems like ANYTHING could happen.

Bit Concerned... But ready to upgrade. Reading all sources and tasking old friends with connections and I still can't figure out what is actually going on. 3 cases in MD cause a statewide emergency.. It doesn't add up, unless the biggest conspiracy of world governments is in play. You just have to keep asking and looking for what do they know that I can't figure out.

I truly envy those people who are only a bit concerned.

As part of my job, I have Skype calls with head C suite executives and upper management from companies around the U.S., maybe 4-7 each day on average. As part of our chat, I’ve been asking what their thoughts are on the virus and how it might be affecting their business.

Since Monday, many of them are pretty freaked out. They're not only worried about having to shut doors temporarily in case of virus contamination, but they're also dealing with supply line issues, loss in revenue, the cancellation of important travel/meetings/conferences, and in some cases, high level employees are stuck in other countries and/or in quarantine.

Even if there's zero concern with some here in TB2K with regard to catching the virus and getting sick, there are some really severe signs of catastrophe in our country's business sector. Everything from retail and service, to production and manufacturing. After hearing the stories from just this week, I don’t know how we're going to avoid a massive recession. Maybe even depression.

Steady as she goes. God has us in the palm of His hand. I have done all I can and a little more besides. I will continue to learn all I can about the virus and the world situation and be as much help to the membership as possible.

I have had varous nefarious tell me over the years that forward into the future was the way; not that old campfire cooking and oil lamps and such. I am so glad I didn't listen. I fit well in both worlds and going back to the old skills full time won't be hard at all.

We too are seeing disruptions in our supply line. Meetings are being cancelled and on the consumer front less people are driving in for repairs. Three strikes in the business world are building. Stock Market can't make up it's mind, an election year that is filled with hate and passion on both sides and then the virus with no answers. Before long the supply line issues will be visible at the local Wallyworld (and other retail locations)then the part of the population that has been clueless will start to scratch their collective heads... The economy is the real fear with this virus, chances of dying are not high... Chance of losing income and your normal way of life is growing by the day.

I have too much on our plate with dh in and out of hospital/rehab every month or so...……..I'm worn out & so is he....but my eldest son just flew to Aberdeen Scotland on business trip and the smaller airline his co. booked to fly in to Aberdeen, declared bankruptcy the next day. Allegedly business flights are so nil they can't sustain their route at this time.

Hope and pray son is home safe and sound by Saturday...…….and dh comes home TO STAY...…….

We've done just about all we can after so many medical supplies/bills...………...

Watchful, but may become "glued" at any moment. I fear the corona virus as much as I did ebola. Several US nurses contracted the ebola virus from their patients. (Yes, I work in a hospital)

There is also a very real economic threat, too. The airlines are projected to lose billions, supply chain issues, and even locally small Asian restaurants are being boycotted. No one's going to China Town or Korea town, etc. Tourism is shutting down and Trade Shows are being canceled.

This could be a very BIG event. I believe credit will dry up.

It's early yet? I think it's always smart to plan for the unknown, as best as one can. It seems like we lose electricity, a lot in Iowa. We have the winds, ice and idiots that drive into utility poles. Making plans ahead of possible problems is smart and helps train the mind. Just like whenever you see a stranger, have a plan in mind on how you will kill that person should they attack you, or a plan on how you will escape.

I have been busy since mid-January filling holes in preps and learning about new needs for this potential problem - and trying to meet them in advance as well. Oxygen concentrator should be arriving soon, and a colloidal silver generator too, to feed a couple of cool mist humidifiers to help with area disinfection and to fuel a nebulizer for breathing treatments.

I have built up a small amount of new understanding of herbal antivirals and laid in some stocks of herbs that seem to be the most useful in this case.

And I have prepped for quarantine as best I can. Now we wait ...

I'm up a scosh, from 3 to 3.6. Not sure why. I've built my life to withstand the loss or change in distribution of materials and conveniences, as well as financial hits. Cannot raise the dead, though, and already have loved ones either in the eye of the storm, or out side it, but depending on medical care n getting 02 readings that dip into the 80s. I'm also concerned 'bout possibility of personal failings: as a boo boo kisser n tear dryer, and all round pillar of strength it scares me to think a fatal flaw in my core strength might manifest at just the wrong time. Then again, I never did depend upon myself, but the one who holds us all, so I guess I should adjust that # down, instead of UP :; sad smile ::

I bumped it up this time to “glued.” I’m trying to read and understand as much as I can so fear doesn’t take over.

I talked to my son last night. Lives in CA with his wife, making lots of $ in the tech field. He was lamenting a large loss in their portfolio, and was of the opinion that covid19 is no big deal, just another flu. I educated him, as much as he would accept anyway.

He texted me a little while ago and said “things just got real!”

A young lady works as a barista in an office building in San Francisco, serving everyone in the building. She is married to my son’s right-hand man at work. In San Francisco.

she found out today that Someone in her building is positive for covid19. They’re shutting it down for a “deep cleaning.” Everyone will work from home for a while.

Did she serve this person? Is she infected? Did she infect her husband? Did he infect my son? Too many questions without answers.

Son and wife live in a city with at least 2 people who are positive for covid19.

I am watchful and ready. Maryland just had its first 3 confirmed cases of COVID-19 announced. It is a small state, with a lot of international travelers. There are more cases out there. Last of the preps are coming in tomorrow and we are ready to hunker down at any time.
