It's time to once again gauge the anxiety members are feeling regarding the current world situation and how they view the relative near-term future.

With a nod to JC Refuge, who developed and created this identical poll the first seventeen times, and to CfI for invaluable assistance, here we go again. The poll will remain up for three days, instead of the previous five days. Your poll responses are private and cannot be viewed, but I encourage you to post your response and why you voted the way you did.

Things are proceeding according to the published plan of Him who created the universe.

Matthew 6:19-34 (King James Version)

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Galatians 2:20 (King James Version)

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Egypt's got me more worried than usual. Not to mention the weather. Good grief, I'm nearly out of firewood!

Problems at home keep distracting me, so I haven't done diddly about it.

If we're looking at either a Middle East war or the start of a cold induced harvest failure, I'm going to be nearly as bad off as the Sheep.

I voted watchful/ready/checking...basically the tuned in middle ground.

At times in the past few months, my edge was slightly sharper when circumstances seemed to demand it. I honestly thought the Korean episode was going 'tilt' (as others likely did), and I'm always very concerned about Obama going rogue. Still observing the Middle East...may become a problem, or may not.

The only full bore, red siren alert for me was the blizzard / ice storm here a few weeks back. At least that was weather, not crazy people under bizarre circumstances.

Thanks for the latest poll. Good to know what folks are thinking.

Voted “no worries.” Looks like the ME will slowly build to something serious by mid summer, So for now, all things are devolving slowly and likely we have a few months of breathing room, but who knows.

It's not time yet to go into overdrive. But I can't help thinking--for the first time--that it won't be long now.

Pace yourselves. Breathe in, breathe out, and pray. And listen to what the Lord tells you to do. No need to panic--if you have the Lord on your side.

Neither here nor there.
Was at Aldi's earlier and noticed a few customers were a little "spazzed" their carts were over flowing with cases of canned food, etc.

I haven't been to a grocery store since the beginning of December. I got my walking book yesterday and hope to make it to a grocery store this weekend. I am not feeling frazzled about anything but water. When I have a good solution to that problem, I will worry about other things.

I figured out what to do about starting my seeds inside (no central heat, no heat pad) and am excited about getting them started. If my idea for the seedlings works, I could conceivably grow more mature plants--not just seedlings. So, I'm excited about that, too.

I picked glued to the screen, although I don't watch TV, because everyone else is so relaxed and calm, and there are no "dates" floating around.
That's when it's going to happen. That's how life works, no warnings, defying predictions.

The Egypt thing has me more watchful, that and trends in DC. No matter who is in power in Egypt, the situation has been destablized for good I think. If a democratic puppet is placed in power, the people will be unhappy which could lead to radical military action which could lead to war with Israel. If the Muslim Brotherhood is in power the people may be happy but that sort of radical leadership again will lead to war with Israel. Either way it could escalate to 3rd WW.

DC, particularly the WH is a mess with the poser-in-chief who is lacking even basic understanding of global political dynamics and from all appearances and inside info, the guy is a nut job and the rest of the world knows it. The O WH is weak and may be another catalyst for radical elements to take advantage of by launching aggressive policies towards their neighbors. There are those who are resentful for O not backing the status quo in Egypt and are now scared that radical Islam will do something more drastic before they do.

Add these factors to the already precarious situation in the middle-east as well as the Korean peninsula and it gives you a recipe for the other shoe to drop ANY DAY NOW.

I scaled back one this time. Lots going on, but I don't think we are right on the brink of anything, but could be wrong I guess.

I'm still watchful, but food prices could move me to the next level. Even mainstream media are talking about crop failures, gas prices and the coming increases in prices. It seems like I actually stand in the aisles and see the prices going up. I'm so grateful I got into canning and dehydrating this summer. DH thinks I'm a bit overboard, but at least he doesn't consider my prepping to be a cute little hobby anymore.

After 26 hours, the poll stands at 1.87. That is the lowest "anxiety" number I have recorded, and compared to the final numbers, the lowest since 2004.

Keep your votes and comments coming.

I think that it's time. I'm not sure for what, there are a lot of irons in the fire right now, but somethings about to pop.

But I'm not in a bunker hiding out. :popcorn1: But I do wish that I had a bunker available. It would be a good adult version of a tree house.:rdog:

Great Great Grandma!
I voted "a bit concerned". I'm as prepped as I can be and will enjoy life while keeping an eye out so I'll know what comes my way. In the meantime, nothing I can do will change what's coming so I don't worry about it.

Popcorn.... Check
Salt.... Check
Butter.... Check

"a bit concerned" here also. There is nothing we can do to change what is coming. We have and are prepping to try to help ensure our survival and that of our loved ones. When the SHTF we have what we have where we have it. We will have to make do and muddle through as best we can and with the good Lord's help we will make it. If we are really lucky we will be able to disapoint the grand kids and say; "Sorry but the really interesting stuff happened far, far away from us."

Please pass the popcorn?

Watchful. I was coming back from a bulk food store and had Beck on. I was half way home when Mubarick left. Beck started naming all the other countries in the area and what was going on in them. I got chills down my spine. It was just country after county and city after city.
Made me glad that I bought another 100# of wheat and added more rice, seasonings, beans, coffee and sea salt on this last run.

As usual, I find it a difficult poll to answer. I typically have no worries and am also watchful, ready, and checking the preps. That is the case right now. I imagine things will heat up as usual by summer and provide us all with a bit of doomer fix.

< Yes, I do look like that.
My TEOTWAWKI has already happened thanks to a rather large oil spill; might wanna consider adding that as another option - "situation has already gone to hell."

Oh well, that which does not kill me makes me stranger... :D

Got to head to work an hour and a half before the poll closes, so I will briefly comment now, and add one more comment if the numbers change between now and the end of the poll:

The final result for the 27th Prepper Anxiety Poll is 1.91.

Beginning with the 27th poll and all following, they will only be run for three days, instead of the five days of the previous 26. There were only two votes in the last 48 hours of the 26th poll (and most previous polls), so there's no sense taking up valuable front page space with a poll that has run its course.

As always, thanks to those who voted and commented.
