Remember folks ... if you are feeling stressed, post a brief explanation here (or better yet, links to relevant threads) so that, in the future, we can go back and reference the issues that were on people's minds.

This is the fifth poll in the series. I'm guessing Pete/ME will post a graph in this thread soon of the previous poll results.

voted "watchful, ready" also, which is down from my vote last poll.
Figure I've downgraded for a variety of reasons, including:

dealing w/prep of Charlie
prepped as I can be at this time
and just getting complacent re: all this terror stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I feel 90% chance of getting hit anytime before November elections. If an OBL tape comes out, like rumor has it, I'll prolly go up to next level. Then again, maybe not.

I think we're finally getting a real "taste" of how Israel can go on about their lives knowing danger is just around the corner, yet still livin' life. Not really complacency, just the new normal, as they say.

So while I've not said anything very original, that about sums it up for me.

watchful, ready, and checking the preps, just in case:

In part due to the elections getting closer, various news sources, and the potential for issues in Italy. Not feeling any great overwhelming sense of impending doom, but still don't feel completely relaxed either.

 So hard to choose.....

I'd have to say a bit concerned. Its hard to let yourself stay on edge all the time.
I definitely have downgraded myself over this last year as fortunately all speculation has not panned out like gas being let out of an air balloon.

I'm hoping that when Thanksgiving comes around and I sit down for that nice dinner I'll be able to give thanks for nothing happening in the good ol' USA.

My concern is the upcoming republican convention. IMO, that is just to much of a target for the terrorist, especially with it being in NYC the place they love to hate.

I also think we will have some kind of major strike before the elections though our FBI and others may be able to ward it off if they find out enough info soon enough. I do think the terrorist will try.

Thankfully I have now been able to build our food supply up to about 2 weeks worth of non refrigerated food. I will continue to build it up so long as I am able. I have been trying to add canned milk in larger quanities as some of my cousins here in this area have infants and I am not sure they are preppers though they are good income people. I have about 25 pounds of flour however I am debating on if I should get more grain. I do not have a source for it and shipping is very expensive.

I am starting to think on ways to store water. I have a pantry here that can hold some but we also have two lakes so unless it is something like radiation fallout we will have water to purify. Therefore I need to think on something that can fit into my walk in closet to store for future water purification. Plus I need to get a few buckets as that is how we will flush toilets.

Not knowing how long we will be here and where we will be moving to next and how we will have to move is also a factor in not gathering excessivly large amounts of food and water.

I do think it is still a good idea to prep for at least a year, if you have a settled place and the funds.

I voted "a bit concerned". I figure I'll take my break while I can. By next week I may become gradually "more" concerned as the elections, holidays, etc. draw near.

Voted watchful, ready - which is probably as low as I'll ever go, lol. That's how I spend my life. I actually am a bit relieved as I thought the terrorists would take advantage of the hurricane disaster to pull something.

Voted "watchful", but with the Olympics ongoing and the RNC approaching, I think I'm about halfway up the ladder to the next step.

I really think that any one of several things could bring this country to it's knees at any time. I live each day as it is the last, and thank God for one more. I have been covering many of the forems, news , frends in the "right place", ect, ect. This has brought me to this stage of concern, and the step up in preps. We try to do or get somthing every day, from fire wood to canning and beyound . And most of all spirtual help in all we do. I have done a lot but I know some that have done a lot more. What we each need to understand is that no matter how much or how little we are able to prep , when used in the right way the Lord can make it last a lot longer!! I wish everyone the best no matter the stage you are in, Larry

I did not vote on the poll this time. I am feeling relaxed. Just can't seem to get in a Doomer mood this weekend. If TSHTF, so be it, I am as prepped as I can possibly be at this point in my life. For the moment, I am just going to enjoy life. When\if the hard times come, I will worry about them then. That is how I am feeling at the moment. And it sure feels good!

Too Quiet for too Long!

While not in my bunker, the outhouse with 'lectric lights, I'm hyper-sensitive today for some reason.

Too many inexplicable things happening:
  • Stock Market taking a 50+ point leap at the opening
  • Chavez apparently staying in office in Venuzuala
  • Apparent silence regarding the "Orange Alert" from DHLS and whether the threat has been dimminished
  • Disconnect between $/barrel and $/gal at the pumps
  • Steady in rise in essential prices like food
  • My total inability to "connect" with the Presidential campaigns [they seem to be in nah-nah land]
  • Buffet's and Soro's move to things other than $reenbacks

Just to weirdly quiet for my sense of SNAFU

Feelings

Hey when even my 25 yr old, has these feelings about something abt to hit the fan, & he doesnt keep up with all this, works nights takes care of his 2 kids during the day, no wife , so is busy busy, says MOm , I just have this feeling that things are going to get bad soon, ie crap hitting the fan. Makes my metor which as been feeling this for a few weeks now, go even higher. He says as soon as it happens I will drop everything throw in the kids & the camping gear & whatever else i can, & be on my way to you & dad.

glued to the screen, expecting the worst any day now. My worries, Peak Oil, and we're moving up the hills into snow country with a longer drive to work. Silver starting its rise as the central bank supplies finally get sucked dry and I haven't been able to talk my wife into letting me move my 401k into silver from mutual funds. Beyond a lot of bottled water and 1000 rounds of ammo, I have virtually no preps in yet. I want to build a basement/shelter/cottage in the hills, not even bought the land yet. I need to convince DW of so many things, but she's about 70% DGI, I'm afraid to get into the chances of nuclear exchange, permanent recession, die-off, all that fun stuff.
When OPEC announced a call for non-OPEC to increase production in mid-June, I just about freaked

Peak Oil was here, now, and I'M NOT READY:shkr:
Other than that, I'm doing just fine, just gotta stay on the meds.
