What is the best way to store roasted coffee beans?
How do you store?
How long will it last?
I was thinking a mason jar and oxygen absorbers?
Thanks

I would imagine freezing would be the best option, but I don't have first hand experience. I opted to buy green beans and roast them myself in a wok over a propane burner. I roasted some 6-7 years old and they tasted great. I think once they are roasted the clock starts ticking on them. Doing it myself produces the best coffee I've ever had and at half the cost. Pretty simple. PM me if you want some tips. If there is enough interest I'll start a thread and maybe learn more from others who may have taken this up as a hobby.

Don’t let the Piss Ants get you down…
I seem to remember that freezing green coffee beans and then roasting them when ready to use was the way to go, or at least better than any other method.

I think that'd be an interesting thread.

IIRC, it’s the oils in roasted beans that start to go rancid, so you can’t can them or go oxy absorber/Mylar route for an extended period of time, a year or two at most. Freezing is the way to go, but I’m not sure how long it’s good for, TBH. I really need to look into it. My hubby is suuuuuuuper particular about coffee and really only cares for the beans we get from a local restaurant. They’re ridiculously expensive (for coffee), like $20 per lbs, but they do discounts for larger amounts.

I have frozen & lost beans in my freezer for multiple years, with excellent results. Very little taste loss.I remember it specifically. It was Costa Rica Tarrazu. Yum.

I now roast my own & keep green beans.
