I don't know if this is THE fan event, but I'm becoming more convinced each day that this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. So, I guess it depends on how big an event needs to be before it can be put into that category. These are folks that mostly travel from the Eastern part of the U.S. but we honestly get people from all over the country/world. Dollywood opening this weekend. On the main Corona thread there are many videos and letters from actual doctors and nurses trying to attend to these patients but are swamped and people are dropping. I believe the saying is "If it bleeds it leads". Granted the deaths aren't as graphic as Ebola but most people hear dead and listen a bit more just in case it affects them.

As to multiple countries putting together this economy killing behavior just to get Trump, well I guess we all have different imaginations, but there are easier ways to get rid of him including the up coming election, so that is one conspiracy theory that I wouldn't give any credence to.

They are reporting deaths.... You just probably don't want to see the ratio of deaths or recovery.

There are statistics, for what they're worth, for recoveries out there. This website says that 62826 out of 80796 cases in China have recovered. Whether or not those are believable, well, that's another story.

While I have some concerns regarding the corona virus, it is primarily the lack of good information.

I have health issues that put me in the vulnerable percentages, but I am curious about the actual immune health of the "vulnerable" people. I know many people with diabetes, for example, who refuse to make any changes to their lifestyle that could help their health. I believe that many people who choose to boost their immune system will fare better than those who refuse.

We appear to be at the beginning of a Grand Solar Minimum, which in the past, included food shortages, and epidemics. If that is the case, next year may be even more difficult if food shortages occur, and the number of underfed increase.

Those who look ahead, and prepare for shortages by gardening and preserving are also more likely do well with the possible illnesses.

As I've said from the beginning, yes, the virus worries me, I have health issues and so does many of the people that I care about. But panic? Nope. What's the point of that? I am in the best possible position I can be in every way. Nothing more I can do.

But what I have really worried about from the beginning is the economic implications! When China shut down... even if the virus never made it over here at all, there were going to be huge ripples. You can say meh all you want, hope you've got some really super duper hefty assets to carry you through because things will probably change for you, and everyone else. If you can't see what is happening, time to open your eyes. If you don't want to see, can't see for you.
