Depleted Uranium - more correctly known as U-238 - is essentially what's left over after the tiny fissile element U-235 is separated from it. It's an alpha emitter and has a half-life of 4.5 billion years. Yes you read that correctly; not 4.5 million, but 4.5 billion. In addition to being weakly radioactive, it's pyrophoric and it's a carcinogenic heavy metal.

U-238 is used in industry in applications such as weights in aircraft. The problem with using it in warheads is that as soon as it hits armor, it both burns and is aerosolized. This contaminates the surrounding area with minute U-238 particles. These are easily ingested or inhaled. While the human body excretes the vast majority of it, some of these extremely small particles can and do lodge in lung and other body tissues. There, it intensely irradiates the surrounding cells and often causes malignancies.

Xi Jinping has been denying Joe Biden a phone call for days.

The conversation between the President of the United States and the President of China will take place at an appropriate time, but for now the Chinese leader remains busy, said John Kirby, White House strategic communications coordinator.

"We want to make sure that this conversation happens at the right time and in the right context." President Xi remains quite busy…"

It is even known where, with what, and with whom. The protocol is on the Kremlin website.

Let’s award JoeBama (again with) the Nobel Peace Prize for forging two communist countries as (they always were) permanent friends.

The framing begins: Sino-Russia "axis" being "unsafe" - to whom is that partnership, unsafe?

Lira nailed it again. That little twerp is one of the high priestesses of the latest branch of the Satanic religions.
I disagree on the Satanic Part, I doubt she is a Luciferian, and we should start another thread to discuss this. But I underwent Clergy Training for Five Years to become a REAL certified Priesstess and Clergy in California. It might not be a religion that many recognize here. Still, I assure you we had similar classes in legal ethics and requirements as Catholic Priests or Protestant ministers. This young lady has no business being given an "honorary" Doctorate in Theology.

It cheapens this for people of ALL faiths who navigate and difficulty the many modern theological colleges and Universities out there. I have colleagues who practice my faith who have made it through in very liberal places like Harvard or Yale theological schools because they want to be military chaplains or take on other professional roles that require it. This nonsense cheapens the roles of Pagans, Heathens, and other alternative religious practitioners in the secular world.

If she wants a degree in Earth Centered Theology, she can go to an accredited theological Pagan Seminary like Cherry Hill. If he had lived long enough, my husband might have taught under her full name Dr. Stephan Grundy, Ph.d. from Cambridge, England, in Old Norse and Saxon studies with a stress on their religions. If she goes this route, I guarantee she will have to STUDY and THINK to get her degree.

Rant over. Please direct any questions to a PM or start a thread in the Religion Room and ping me because I don't usually go there, but I will for this.

No, Russia just wants to be left alone to do business.
I dunno. Watch what they do not what they say.

unless the Obama years purging of the traditional loyal military was so thorough that the pentagon couldn’t recover during the Trump years...

this whole idea that the West is out of ammo smells more like ”appear weak when you are strong” deception...

ie : could go either way. If the big idea has been to have a fake war to scare the whole world into surrendering to a one world government rather than destroy the earth, that would culminate in the outcome that the JBS Warned about 30 years or more ago about the entire pageant of the twentieth century was to meld the East and the West together step by step. the US probably could have taken on the entire world and won before the BushesClintons arrived on stage. Now, not so much.

So basically, Putin has been preventing the gays from taking over Russian culture and this is what the Lord God has to say about the people who promote Sodomy:

Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

i don’t think China cares about the West’s “core values” - it just wants Taiwan back.
Russia, on the other hand, Is not going to “bend over and take it“, and if the people in America and Europe do not deal with the homosexual elite running their countries in the biblical prescribed manner, they are doomed.

eta: homosexuality is not a human right, it is a human perversion, and those who promote it are Enemies of God. Choose carefully which side you are on in this spiritual battle...

What is depleted uranium? Radiation risks explained after Putin's warning to UK over tank shells for Ukraine

While there are some chemical and radiation risks from the weaponry, the UK's Ministry of Defence has pushed back hard against Vladimir Putin's suggestion that depleted uranium tank shells for Ukraine risk a nuclear escalation in the conflict.

Russia 'will react' if UK supplies uranium ammo
https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sha...'s warning to UK over tank shells for Ukraine
Why you can trust Sky News
Russia has accused the UK of increasing the chances of a "nuclear collision" by supplying Ukraine with armour-piercing depleted uranium tank shells.
President Vladimir Putin warned Russia would have to "respond accordingly", as he seized another chance to threaten a nuclear escalation in the Ukraine war.

Minister of state for defence Baroness Annabel Goldie confirmed some of the ammunition for the Challenger 2 battle tanks that Britain is sending to Ukraine includes armour-piercing rounds which contain depleted uranium.
What are the actual risks associated with such ammunition, though? And why do tank shells contain depleted uranium in the first place?
What is depleted uranium?
Depleted uranium (DU) is the material left behind after most of the highly radioactive form of uranium - known as U-235 - is removed from natural uranium ore.
U-235 provides the fuel used to produce nuclear power and the powerful explosions used in nuclear weapons.
DU is less radioactive, mainly emitting alpha particles, which don't have enough energy to go through skin, so exposure to the outside of the body is not considered a serious hazard.
It can be a serious health hazard, however, if it is swallowed or inhaled.
What is depleted uranium ammunition?
DU is used in weapons because it can penetrate tanks and armour more easily due to its density and other physical properties.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says DU is used for both armour-piercing weapons and armour itself.
Shells containing DU become sharper and ignite as they come into contact with armour.
Are uranium tank shells nuclear weapons?
According to the UN Institute for Disarmament Research, depleted uranium ammunition cannot be considered as nuclear weapons.
It says depleted uranium does not meet the legal definitions of nuclear, radiological, toxin, chemical, poison or incendiary weapons.
Read more:
The Putin-Xi bromance is increasingly unbalanced

But are there any radiation risks?

The IAEA says inhaled or ingested uranium can be harmful "in sufficient amounts" because of its "chemical toxicity".
Its main risk is chemical, rather than radioactive. In high concentrations in the body, uranium can cause kidney failure because of its chemical toxicity, for example.
However, as with any radioactive material, there are cancer risks. But it could take years for any effects to show.
When it comes to DU, the risks are lower. Depleted uranium is considerably less radioactive than natural uranium.
But with shells containing DU, the main risk is of inhaling aerosols released on impact with an armoured target.
Longer-term risks are possible from DU left behind in the soil on battlefields, for example. There are some concerns DU could contaminate water or food supplies if it seeps into the soil in the wrong place over the years. The risk decreases as time goes on, though.
Therefore, the IAEA highlights the riskiest level of contact as handling a shell or other type of DU ammunition directly.
Even then, skin burns or "any other acute radiation effect" is unlikely.
But it adds: "Nevertheless, the dose that could be delivered from handling of DU ammunitions is such that the exposure and handling time should be kept to a minimum and protective apparel (gloves) should be worn."
Putin: Weapons have 'nuclear component'
The Russian president was hosting his Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping for a summit in Moscow this week when he responded to the reports of the UK supplying Ukraine with DU shells.
He said: "If all this happens, Russia will have to respond accordingly, given that the West collectively is already beginning to use weapons with a nuclear component."
Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin

Image:Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin
Russia's defence minister, Sergei Shoigu, went further. He claimed the British decision on shells left fewer and fewer steps before a potential "nuclear collision" between Russia and the West.
"Another step has been taken, and there are fewer and fewer left," he told reporters in remarks cited by domestic agencies.
MoD: 'Nothing to do with nuclear weapons'
The UK does not consider depleted uranium rounds a nuclear capability.
And it should be said, Russia also uses depleted uranium-based ammunition.
Britain's Ministry of Defence (MoD) said the use of armour-piercing DU shells is "standard" in modern warfare.
As Sky's defence and security editor Deborah Haynes pointed outon Tuesday, for the MoD to issue a statement responding to Putin at all was highly unusual.
But it clearly wanted to dampen talk of it contributing to a nuclear escalation as quickly as possible.
The MoD said in a statement: "Alongside our granting of a squadron of Challenger 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine we will be providing ammunition, including armour piercing rounds which contain depleted uranium.
"Such rounds are highly effective in defeating modern tanks and armoured vehicles.
"The British Army has used depleted uranium in its armour-piercing shells for decades.
"It is a standard component and has nothing to do with nuclear weapons or capabilities. Russia knows this but is deliberately trying to disinform.
"Independent research by scientists from groups such as the Royal Society has assessed that any impact to personal health and the environment from the use of depleted uranium munitions is likely to be low."

'Devastating impact on civilians'
There are campaigners who think the use of DU shells is dangerous, however.
The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) has called on the British government to "introduce an immediate moratorium" on its use of ammunition using depleted uranium.
It also argues the government should support a global ban on its use in conventional weapons, while helping to clean up areas where they have been used.
Some countries, like Belgium and Costa Rica, have already banned the use of uranium in conventional ammunition.
On its website, the CND says: "Its use has a devastating impact on civilians caught up in conflicts across the world."
The International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons was based in Manchester but has since moved to Berlin.

Irrelevant stuff aside, I agree that the emphasis on "woke" (which is very different from acceptance) is a massive problem in the modern American military—driving people away who want to concentrate on military matters and learning to handle an enemy. Something none of the above three named individuals ever forgot, even for a moment, I'm pretty confident.

U.S. Responds to Claim Drone Involved in Plan to Strike Russian Port

U.S. Releases Video Of Exact Moment Russian Jet Collided With Drone

The U.S. has denied a Russian claim that an American MQ-9 Reaper drone that was downed over the Black Sea on March 14 could have been involved in preparations for a strike on the Russian Black Sea port of Tuapse, calling the allegations "ridiculous."

On Tuesday, Russian online newspaper Mash cited anonymous sources in a report as saying that the drone could have been carrying out surveillance prior to an attack on the port, which is located near to the Russian naval base in Novorossiysk.

"An American drone that was shot down in the sky over the Black Sea could have been involved in preparing an attack on the port of Tuapse," Mash reported. "According to our information, the MQ-9 Reaper was scouting the situation so that [Ukrainian forces] could strike with sea and air drones."

When contacted by Newsweek for comment, the State Department said the allegations are "ridiculous."

The U.S. has denied a Russian claim that the drone carrying out surveillance for a strike on a Russian port. US Defense Department European Command/Getty Images

"These claims are completely ridiculous and have ZERO basis in fact or truth. To be clear, we categorically deny them," a State Department spokesperson told Newsweek.

The spokesperson said that the U.S. Reaper drone "was lawfully operating in international airspace over the Black Sea."

The drone collided with a Russian Su-27 fighter jet and crashed into the sea, marking the first known direct military encounter between Washington and Moscow since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Both sides have blamed each other for the collision, providing conflicting accounts. The Pentagon has said that the aircraft dumped fuel on the drone, which was in international airspace conducting a routine surveillance mission. Russia has said the drone had "deliberately and provocatively" approached Russian air space.

"The Black Sea is a critical international seaway supporting many of our NATO Allies, including Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. It does not belong to any one country," the State Department spokesperson said.

"We have routinely operated in the Black Sea before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in accordance with laws governing international airspace, and we will continue to operate in the Black Sea region in the future," the spokesperson added.

The Kremlin has yet to comment on the reports.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said U.S. drone flights over the Black Sea are a sign of direct U.S. involvement in conflict with Russia.

"It is quite obvious what these drones are doing, and their mission is not at all a peaceful mission to ensure the safety of shipping in international waters," Peskov was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying on Sunday.

Tuapse came under attack in the early hours of February 28 when a Ukrainian drone strike caused a loud explosion at the port, a major oil terminal located south of the Russian naval base at Novorossiysk and north of the city of Sochi.

Newsweek has reached out to Russia's foreign ministry via email for comment.

The "multi-polar world" these fools have allowed to sprout will bite them and very likely will violently morph into something else yet again.
It was inevitable because of the Triffin dilemma: the country whose currency is used as a global reserve eventually faces trade deficits because exports will be too expensive and imports too cheap, in turn leading to poor economic growth and trade deficits, with spending maintained only through rising debt. Meanewhile, those dependent on the dollar eventually save more and move away from it.

As for equipment - the US and NATO (by their own statements) are scraping the bottom of the barrel - there is effectively almost nothing remaining in the way of older Soviet weapons that NATO can send them. As for US arms and ammo the US has stated that they are no longer able to supply Ukraine with unlimited 155mm rounds - they have emptied the reserves and our production at around 15k a month is well below their current use of 5-6k A DAY!
Equipment - take the Abrams - now we are going to rebuild 40 in 10+ months - which begs the question - what happened to building 40 NEW Export versions? Likely we can't do it! Likely we are no longer even able to build just 4 new tanks a month!

Which brings us to his critical step whatever support - The only source for several thousand tanks and supporting armor, jets and men is the US and some troops from NATO.
You had to ask and get all this started LOL:

Leading GOP Lawmakers Push To Send Cluster Bombs To Ukraine

So much for weapons deemed inhumane and banned under UN-backed international treaties... apparently it's OK if they are used against Russians or other official enemies of the United States - at least according to the logic of some US lawmakers.
A group of four Republican members of Congress are urging President Biden to send Ukraine cluster munitions as part of the next major weapons package approval . "Ukraine is seeking the MK-20, an air-delivered cluster bomb, to release its individual explosives from drones, and 155 mm artillery cluster shells," according to prior reporting in Reuters. These Republican hawks want to provide it.
The Republican letter chastises the White House's "reluctance to provide Ukraine the right type and amount of long-range fires and maneuver capability to create."
The letter is signed by the following influential, high-level GOP Congress members:
  • Jim Risch, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee,
  • Roger Wicker, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee,
  • Mike McCaul, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee
  • Mike Rogers the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee
Some 120 countries have banned cluster munitions as they have long been understood to be more indiscriminate than conventional weapons, given they randomly disperse small bombs over large areas.
For example, the MK-20, which is one of the weapons on Ukraine's wish list, disperses 240 dart-like submunitions or bomblets after being deployed.
"The US had been producing and selling cluster bombs to its allies until a few years ago," Antiwar.com recently pointed out. "In 2016, Textron Systems Corporation stopped producing MK-20s when the US stopped selling them to Saudi Arabia. But there's still an estimated one million of the bombs Pentagon stockpiles."

Russia Will ‘Respond Accordingly’, Threatens Putin, After UK Announces Depleted Uranium Rounds For Ukraine

The EU is sending one million artillery shells to Ukraine at the eye-watering price of two billion Euros, meanwhile the United Kingdom has confirmed it would be sending depleted uranium anti-tank rounds along with the main battle tanks it is donating to the country.

A long-anticipated arms procurement deal by EU members-plus-Norway through the European Defence Agency to procure and send one million 155mm artillery rounds [pictured, above] to Ukraine has been agreed, ending months of discussion.

The €2 billion ($2.15 billion) price tag will be divided in two tranches, the EU said, with the first billion used to compensate European Union nations for releasing shells from their own military stocks, with an aim to send these within two months. The second round of funding will be paid to armaments factories in European nations to make new shells for shipment.

The EU’s ambition is to have this delivery completed within 12 months, but there are questions over whether Europe’s armaments factories can ramp up production quickly enough to meet that target. Extra shells could have been bought from outside the European Union, but France has insisted on a buy-European policy to protect European industry.

Josep Borrell, the EU’s federal foreign minister, said the deal was “historic” and said it demonstrated the union was backing Ukraine.

The massive donation of weapons comes as, but is separate to, a further payment of €1.5 billion ($1.6 billion) to Ukraine by the European Union in “macro-finanical assistance”, in other words, monetary support to help keep the Ukrainian government from going bankrupt. President Ursula von der Leyen said the money was to help Ukraine transition to becoming more “European” and like Borrell said it was a sign of Europe’s support for their neighbour.

Yet the wind was taken out of the sails of the EU’s massive arms procurement deal after it was announced, with the revelation by the United Kingdom that the gift of Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks to Ukraine would be accompanied by the special rounds which use extremely dense depleted uranium. The special material qualities of depleted uranium at the point of impact make it an exceptional metal for tank-busting.

Russia’s anger at Britain’s tank-busting gift

A UK government spokesman said of the gifting of armour and concomitant ammunition: “Alongside our granting of a squadron of Challenger 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine, we will be providing ammunition including armor piercing rounds which contain depleted uranium. Such rounds are highly effective in defeating modern tanks and armored vehicles.”

Russia immediate reacted with anger to the revelation, with President Vladimir Putin speaking out after a meeting with China’s Xi Jinping, who arrived in Moscow for a state visit on Monday, to threaten retaliation. He is reported to have said: “If all this happens, Russian will have to respond accordingly, I’m talking about the fact the west is already beginning to use weapons with a nuclear component.”

That conflation of depleted uranium rounds to the phrase “nuclear component” has been in turn criticised in the UK, which says Russia is trying to give a false impression that NATO is sending nuclear weapons to Ukraine. Users of depleted uranium rounds in combat — primarily the United States and the United Kingdom — insist they are safe and do not present a radiation threat in use or afterwards.

American M1 Abrams tanks even use depleted uranium in their armour, the same qualities of the super-dense metal making it good for protection as well as penetration.

Others, on the other hand, have long criticised NATO for using depleted uranium rounds in combat, and one of the most vocal of them has traditionally been Russia. Echoing those past complaints, the Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu cited the use of depleted uranium in Kosovo and Serbia in the 1990s, he said: “There were consequences. There were consequences for the health of those who used those munitions. There were serious health conditions, and they were studied. However, they did not examine what kind of effect the munitions had on those against whom they were used.”
The Russian embassy in London is said to have told the British government that “this step is fraught with risks of further escalation of the conflict. Radioactivity, high toxicity and carcinogenicity of such weapons are well-known”.

High cost for EU’s shell-procurement

The 155mm artillery shell now being financed for Ukraine by the European Union is, essentially, a universal NATO round usable in several different gun models employed by dozens of countries worldwide. There are a number of companies which make the shell including BAE Systems, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and Rheinmetall in NATO. They are also made in China, India, and Russia. General Dynamics, who make 11,000 shells a month in Scranton, Pennsylvania, describes the 155mm as a “low cost munition for general Harassment and Interdiction (H&I) fire missions”.

“Low cost” or not, the price paid by the European Union consortium for an order of one million 155mm artillery shells underlines the sudden jump in prices for military materiel the ammunition-hungry Ukraine war has caused. For a piece of legacy technology that hasn’t appreciably changed in decades — and came in at just $150 a piece in the 1980s — ‘dumb’ 155mm artillery shells were already expensive before the war began at around $2,000 each. Today, as the EU deal shows, that price has doubled to $4,000.

That price can be considerably higher for guided artillery shells, which are launched from a gun in the conventional way but use vanes or jets with precision GPS to finesse the final landing point in-flight. Such shells can be tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars per shot, but are still considerably cheaper than guided missiles which can cost millions of dollars each.

In other words, of all the possible war crimes Putin could be charged with, he (along with Maria Lvova-Belova) is charged with the crime of removing children from a war zone in eastern Ukraine.
That is because Russia has been very careful to do everything by the book, and the "invasion" was in fact fully legal under international law:
1) They recognized the DPR and the LPR.
2) The DPR and the LPR asked for military assistance in defending themselves from Ukraine-NATO.
3) Russia provided it.
4) The four regions declared independence and did a referendum.
5) Russia acknowledged the results and admitted them into the RF.
Everything there is perfectly legal. Look it up.
So they have to resort to renaming evacuation of civilians from a warzone as "abducting children", as disgusting and despicable as it is.
The second fact is that almost 3,000,000 people migrated to Russia, more people went to Russia voluntarily than to any other European country. Which tells me that these children have been evacuated with at least one parent, or a relative or friend of the family in which one of the parents instructed their children.
Just like the Ukrainians that went to Europe.
These kids were not just scooped up.

IMHO one of the reasons the NATO/EU has used the evacuation of children from the war zone to accuse/convict Putin of war crimes is because they have been thwarted in accessing those children for trafficking.
Sick puppies. But warzones and humanitarian crises, eg: earthquakes in poor countries, are opportunities to take children. The international “humanitarian” NGOs are quickly on the ground and “rescuing” children.
In Donbass, Putin saved the children. ''He saved the children''
Important Note: No Western Media has accused Putin/Russia of putting the children in cages.
Only the U.S.
What is the core part of the Biden administration and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's foreign policy?

Irrelevant stuff aside, I agree that the emphasis on "woke" (which is very different from acceptance) is a massive problem in the modern American military—driving people away who want to concentrate on military matters and learning to handle an enemy. Something none of the above three named individuals ever forgot, even for a moment, I'm pretty confident.

Just as an aside: Yet none of these rulers' *kingdoms* are extant today, except as a history lesson. Aggressive ambitions, eh?

Kinzinger’s favorite Ukraine hero just deleted his account after it came out he is a fraud

Nooooo, don't tell me everyone's favorite "Mercenary" has really just been hiding out and ducking the real action while collecting money and pretending to be fighting in Ukraine on their behalf.

THE LARP IS REAL.

Guess that explains why he got pieced up on a Subway in the US.…

It appears James Vasquez was just exposed for being a fraud. Never served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or even the Foreign Legion. He sure collected a lot of donations from liberal wine moms, though.

BIDEN EFFECT: Xi Jinping Tells Vladimir Putin at Moscow Meetings: “Change Is Coming That Hasn’t Happened in 100 Years”

FFS Impeach the entire Biden cabinet before it's too late.

Bro, it's too late....

Buckle up...Elections have consequences. Stolen sElections have catastrophic consequences.

Say goodbye to US world dominance brought to you by the WEF, and their DNC partners. I would say its for the best but to have China, Russia and the rest of their growing allies as the world's master will be frightening.
