Putin, meeting Xi Jinping in the Kremlin, says he's pored over China's peace plan to end the war in Ukraine and says Russia is happy to discuss it.
He should be – it basically echoes most of Russia's talking points, which is why it's likely a non-starter for Kyiv.
Xi just said he hopes Putin wins in next year's presidential election – a prospect the Kremlin has so far completely refused to discuss.
He's running!

The BUFFasaurus in it's H model format is basically an airborne standoff cruise missile carrier.

And it sounds like the Buffasauruses were brought up to their control/go-no go points as well. No wonder the Russians were spooked enough to send up interceptors.

That one intercept is a clear demonstration of two countries literally playing chicken with their nation's lives. One hiccup on either side and we'd be in a shooting war.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
We have seen the U S go twenty four seven for weeks, with very high tech missiles, not just mortars. There's a lot more ammo available then they are alluding too. though........ I do believe the goal is to strip the smaller nations of there's. Freedom from War, is a good look at the plan laid decades ago. John Birch Society, google it, get informed.

ETA: Those control/go-no go/launch points for that intercept must be set up for targets a lot deeper into Russia beyond the Urals.

It is the same source I referred to in an earlier post. That was a long time ago and a lot of water under the bridge. The communists in Russia and the US realized they had been beat and decided to infiltrate the US. Putin realized the Russians Were nearly destroyed by communism and so did the Russians. When the US banks went over to “help” Russia recover, Putin stepped in before they were irreversibly raped of all their resources. Consequently the Russians were grateful for the restoration of a working, prosperous economy and an hopeful future. As part of Putin’s plan to restore that part of Russia’s culture that “worked” to its advantage before the communist Bolsheviks overthrew the Tsar, he ordered the rebuilding of a thousand Russian Orthodox churches that the communists had destroyed.

Meanwhile the communists under the Socialists Bushes, then Clintons, then The Obama/Biden/Hillary team corrupted the America that Reagan worked so hard to try to restore, but that group in the shadows “behind the throne” winged Reagan and ended his ascent to guide America to greater heights and replaced him with former cia-director Bush. The same cia that overthrew the duly-elected government in Ukraine in the “most blatant coup d’tat (Soros-funded velvet “revolution”) in history”. Most of us here already know who And what the Kazarian Mafia consists of. Putin would know for sure, and their ancient connection to Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Russia has been fighting them for 1200 years...

eta: it should not be necessary to caution everyone about believing ANY HUMAN LEADER!
“you know who“ said “ don’t follow leaders and watch your parking meters”...

All humans “miss the mark” (sin) occasionally. The trick for any leader is to obtain and maintain “freedom” and the ability to raise and feed one’s family for as many people as possible, hopefully without having to resorting to war in the process...

Kishida to make surprise visit to Ukraine for talks with Zelenskyy
Jesse Johnson
1–2 minutes

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was due to make a surprise visit to Ukraine on Tuesday, becoming the final leader of a Group of Seven country to visit the war-torn country.

Kishida, who was visiting India, was already bound for Ukraine on Tuesday, NHK reported, citing government and ruling party sources. He was expected to arrive later in the day and hold summit talks with President Volodomyr Zelenskyy.

The visit comes more than a year after Russia invaded neighboring Ukraine, triggering a bloody war that saw the West and Japan present a united front in the face of Moscow’s aggression. Kishida’s visit also comes nearly a month after U.S. President Joe Biden made a secret visit to Kyiv — his first since the war erupted — where he met with Zelenskyy.

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 390

As the Russia-Ukraine war enters its 390th day, we take a look at the main developments.

Here is the situation as it stands on Monday, March 20, 2023:

Fighting

  • Putin made a surprise visit to the Russian-occupied Ukrainian city of Mariupol on Sunday in a trip condemned by members of its exiled city council.
  • Ukrainian forces outside the embattled eastern city of Bakhmut are managing to keep Russian units at bay so ammunition, food, equipment and medicines can be delivered to defenders, according to the army.
  • Three civilians have been killed and two wounded in Russian shelling of a residential building in the southern Ukrainian region of Zaporizhia on Sunday, regional officials said.
  • The Kremlin has claimed drone flights by the United States over the Black Sea are a sign of “direct” US involvement in the conflict.

Diplomacy

  • Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow to hold talks with Putin. Xi has called for a “rational way” out of the conflict based on a 12-point proposal released by Beijing last month.
  • Xi will be the first world leader to shake Putin’s hand since the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for the Russian leader on Friday over the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia since the start of the war. Moscow rejects the charge.
  • In an article, Xi said China’s proposal to end the Ukraine crisis reflects global views and seeks to neutralise consequences, but he acknowledged solutions are not easy.
  • The United States and its Western allies are deeply sceptical of China’s motives, noting it has declined to condemn Russia and provided it with an economic lifeline.
  • Putin has welcomed Chinese efforts to play a “constructive role” to try and end the crisis. The Russian president referred to Xi as his “good old friend”.
  • Russia has extended by 60 days a Black Sea grain deal that allows Kyiv to export its products overseas.
  • Justice ministers from around the world are set to meet in London to discuss scaling up support for the International Criminal Court after it issued an arrest warrant for Putin on charges of war crimes for the deportation of hundreds of children from Ukraine.
  • Several European Union countries will sign an agreement on Monday in Brussels to buy 155 mm artillery shells for Ukraine. Kyiv has identified the supply of 155 mm shells as a critical need, with both sides firing thousands of artillery rounds every day.

In Ukraine, US fears 'unacceptable' ceasefire
Aaron Maté
~2 minutes

The meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow brings together the two states that the United States deems as its top strategic rivals. It has also crystallized what the US currently deems as a top strategic threat: the prospect of a halt to the proxy war in Ukraine.

“If coming out of this meeting, there’s some sort of call for a ceasefire, well, that’s just going to be unacceptable,” National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby declared. For Secretary of State Antony Blinken, a Ukraine ceasefire would not only be unacceptable, but illegal. “The world should not be fooled by any tactical move by Russia supported by China, or any other country, to freeze the war on its own terms,” Blinken said. “Such a move would violate the UN charter.”

The US argues that any ceasefire would consolidate Russia’s battlefield gains and allow it to prepare for a major spring offensive. While plausible, what happens after a ceasefire is not pre-ordained. A halt to the fighting in Ukraine could be followed by serious negotiations to end the war permanently, provided that all warring parties engage in good faith efforts toward that goal. As its top diplomat has newly made clear, the Biden administration is clearly in no mood to give diplomacy even a cursory try.

Britain supplying depleted uranium rounds to Ukraine

PHIL MILLER

The UK will send “armour piercing rounds which contain depleted uranium” to Ukraine, for use with the tank squadron donated by the British army.

Defence minister Baroness Goldie made the admission yesterday in response to a written parliamentary question from crossbench peer Lord Hylton.
Goldie said: “Such rounds are highly effective in defeating modern tanks and armoured vehicles.”
Russia has previously warned it would regard the use of depleted uranium in Ukraine as a ‘dirty bomb’.

Kremlin official Konstantin Gavrilov said in January: “If Kyiv is supplied with such shells for NATO heavy military equipment, we will consider this as the use of dirty nuclear bombs against Russia with all the ensuing consequences.”
Depleted uranium rounds have been linked to cancer and birth defects. They were fired extensively by allied forces in Iraq.

The rounds are radioactive and scientists believe their toxic effects on human health can continue to be felt long after conflicts have ended.
A White House spokesperson refused to confirm whether the US was supplying such rounds to Ukraine when asked by a reporter in January.

Interesting that they can have that in a Communist country, but here in the bastion of freedom we can't. Confederate Monuments.

US is speeding up its delivery of Abrams tanks to Ukraine, opting to send a refurbished older model that can be ready faster, with the aim of getting the 70-ton battle powerhouses to the war zone in eight to 10 months.

We and especially Europe have reduced force structures dangerously close to what I would call "critical mass". Meaning, the forces have become so small that they now have a questionable ability to protect their own forces let alone even considering attempting to project force against an aggressor.

Some of the numbers cited in the video are shocking.

War with Russia is often spoken of in 2023, but the drastic reduction in the size of Britain's armed forces is often overlooked. Here, I compare the sizes of Britain's military in 1991, when it was specifically trained and deployed to resist a Soviet assault into Western Europe, and 2023. The figures are fairly shocking, something the US government recently noted as well.

It costs a tremendous amount of money to keep and arm a modernized Army, when all they do is run around in a field doing "exercises". With no clear reason to keep it. (the left's perspective)

Especially when there are so many good causes out there. BLM, CRT, illegal aliens I mean immigrants, renaming forts, impeaching presidents and then arresting them after they are out, failing banks, and let's not forget Ukraine, and use their men in battle.

18 European Countries Sign Joint Ammunition Donation For Ukraine

Authored by Magyar Hirlap via Remix News,
A total of 17 EU member states plus Norway have signed a joint agreement on the procurement of ammunition to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, the Brussels-based European Defense Agency (EDA) announced on Monday.

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Sweden are the EU countries that have joined the initiative.

Under the agreement, the signing countries will seek to procure 155 mm artillery rounds in the short term on a fast-track basis and several types of ammunition in the longer term.

The EDA said the agreement sends a clear message to the defense industry to increase production capacity and confirms the EU’s commitment to supporting Ukraine.

“The project set up by the EDA provides a solid framework for the acceding member states to provide ammunition to Ukraine as soon as possible. The flexible and inclusive nature of the agreement will allow additional member states to join the initiative at a later stage,” stated a press release from the agency.
The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell — who is also the head of the EDA — welcomed the decision taken by the 17 EU member states.

“By procuring together through the EDA project and mobilizing financial support from the European Peace Facility, we will deliver more and faster to Ukraine. Once again, we are breaking a taboo and unlocking the potential of EU cooperation in joint procurement,” Borrell said on Monday following a meeting of EU defense and foreign ministers.
Hungarian Defense Minister Attila Szalay-Bobrovniczky, who was present at the Monday meeting of EU foreign and defense ministers together with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, revealed that Hungary had stayed out of the agreement, opting instead for “constructive abstention.”

He said that one proposal was for member states to transfer all or part of their existing ammunition stockpiles to Ukraine, and this is not something Hungary considers to be productive in its call for peace at the earliest opportunity.
“On this issue, Hungary, as it does not support the war with weapons or soldiers, has used the so-called constructive abstention,” he told reporters.
“In other words, (Hungary) will not block other countries’ plans in this direction based on mutual respect for the decisions of individual member states.”
At the same time, as the proposal would not put an end to the bloodshed, but rather would further increase the chances of an escalation, Hungary does not consider itself bound to participate in the initiative, he added.

He said that one proposal was for member states to transfer all or part of their existing ammunition stockpiles to Ukraine,

That sounds as sane as a person in a padded cell in a straight jacket.

And I bet Russia would just love that. The countries that oppose you with no ammo, sounds like a killing field.
