The overextension of Athens happened in much the same vein. Our military leaders need to ensure they don’t allow themselves to be tail wagged here. We’re over committed in the M.E., Europe, Africa, the Indo-Pacific (our largest and most clear and present threat AOR), even Central and S.A. (The war on drugs, illegal invasion, etc) all of which threaten our capabilities and capacity to achieve global dominance. The Military leaders can say what they want, but these are real and very serious problems. They need to take a stand and let the National Command Authority know that not everything can be priority number one. I’m seriously concerned for our country and these, among others, are some of the reasons why.

#Sanctions: UN humanitarian diplomacy aims to convince the EU to exempt Belarusian fertilizer exports. Lithuania and Poland are against any easing of restrictions on the export of Belarusian potash to not help Lukashenko. The sanctions were applied after⤵️

the Ryanair hijacking in 2021. Lukashenko's facilitation of the Russian war against Ukraine has reduced exports to the West. Belarus currently transports potash from Russia's St Petersburg and Murmansk airports. The potash producer (Belaruskali) is a⤵️

major source of income for the Lukashenko regime. The US shares the concern that sanctions on Belarus could have aggravating effects on food security. Canada has already taken the top spot as a world share of exports, planning to expand production capacity.⤵️

The UN restores to the same argument as in the case of the exemption of agri-food and fertilizers of Russian origin (banking transfer, transport, insurance, port access). There is a strong view that waiving Belarus from sanctions will help Lukashenko more⤵️

than improve food security. However, the EU is aware of the fact that Russian propaganda is connecting sanctions with the scarcity or inflation on the agrifood and fertilizers market. Such narratives are especially effective in the Global South.

UN’s Guterres wants EU to ease Belarus sanctions. The EU isn’t so sure Get your facts straight first, says Lithuania. UN’s Guterres wants EU to ease Belarus sanctions. The EU isn’t so sure

T-54/55s have been withdrawn from storage and sent westwards from the 1295th Central Tank Repair and Storage Base, Arsenyev, Primorsky region.T-62s were too modern for you to see in Ukraine? Now Russia is moving its T-54/55 tanks to the front line, as
@CITeam_en
finds out from the photos obtained from their source.
@planet
satellite imagery corroborates this claim. View attachment 403836

WOW. Yep, a few different delineators help you spot a T55. one is the barrel evacuator on the end of the barrel, think that was used for the larger 100mm main gun. Another thing is the teacup shape of the turret-it's exactly the same turret as used on T-34/85s near the end of WW2. don't forget the thickness of the hull-80 mm on the sides, 30 mm on the roof and 20 mm on the bottom. And the maximum 3 1/2* degree hull down position. And finally, the 5 road wheel Christie suspension straight off the T 34/85.

Lastly, consider this. Both Russia and China have these tanks in mothballs. And with Winnie the Xi's visit to Putin this week; one wonders whether these tanks will be Russian-OR-Chinese manned. One has to consider possibilities.

It's not so much the WEF and the DNC that's responsible for the demise of U.S. dominance but the use of the dollar for global trade, which makes the country that creates the dollar strong because it can borrow a lot but also weak because it can't sell a lot. Meanwhile, others become stronger for the opposite reason.

That's why it's not just China and Russia but Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and around forty other countries that were becoming stronger throughout the decades. And they want to rely less on the dollar, which is bad news for the states because since Reagan it's been heavily dependent on dollar demand globally to borrow and spend heavily.

US offers helicopters to Slovakia for giving jets to Ukraine

The Associated Press

The Bell AH-1Z, developed for the United States Marine Corps, is built with virtually identical front and rear glass cockpits, fully integrated weapons, avionics and communications systems. (Bell Helicopter)
BRATISLAVA, Slovakia — The United States has offered Slovakia 12 new military helicopters as compensation for the MiG-29 fighter jets the European country is giving to Ukraine, Slovakia’s defense minister said Wednesday.
Under the offer, Slovakia would pay $340 million for the Bell AH-1Z attack choppers in a deal worth about $1 billion that also includes 500 AGM-114 Hellfire II missiles and training, Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad said.
U.S. foreign military financing would cover the other $660 million, he said. The European Union also would send Slovakia 200 million euros ($213 million) in additional compensation, Nad said.
The Slovak government still needs to accept the offer.

Nad said his country’s armed forces currently don’t have any combat helicopters and that the deal would “significantly increase the defense capability of Slovakia.”
On Friday, the Slovak government approved a plan to give Ukraine its fleet of 13 Soviet-era MiG-29 fighter jets, becoming the second NATO member country to heed the Ukrainian government’s pleas for warplanes to help defend against Russia’s invasion.

Slovakia grounded its MiGs in the summer due to a lack of spare parts and expertise to help maintain them. Fellow NATO members Poland and the Czech Republic stepped in to monitor Slovak air space.
Slovakia previously signed a deal to buy 14 U.S. F-16 Block 70/72 fighter jets, but delivery was pushed back two years with the first aircraft to arrive in early 2024.

You mean like we did in Iraq at the onset of shock and awe ..
Bombs loaded with long carbon fiber strand packed inside, exploded over Iraqi sub station and such immediately knocked power out and most likely took out water also
So how is this different?
It is a war isn't it ?
I not advocating any of it either way ..infrastructural attacks are always included in battle plans .

The US is upset over Russian Aircraft flying in Syria?
  • Russia is in Syria at the request of the current - legal - government.
  • The US has illegally stationed troops in Syria.
So the US is complaining about a legal overflight of their illegal troop deployment. Just make up any rules you like!

BTW - this base may not be there much longer - Syria and Turkey are patching up differences between the two nations and are very likely going to "deal" with the Kurds which the US has been using to destabilize the area for years.

And once again the US trying to tell others what is "allowed": The United States said it was not supportive of countries re-establishing ties with Assad.
"We will not normalize and we do not support other countries normalizing relations with the Assad regime," U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a daily briefing.
Problem for the US - more and more nations could care less what the US wants / demands

Medvedev:

Russia will produce 1,500 tanks this year. T-90M tanks are superior to Abrams, Challengers and Leopards. Best in the world.

Russia in recent years lagged behind others in the development of UAVs.

HIMARS is good, but Russia also has such accurate weapons.

Russia now has normal reconnaissance UAVs and excellent loitering UAVs

UAV production has not been Russia's forte in recent years.

But there are no countries that would be in the lead in all respects.

Taking into consideration I'm a Bible Thumper: This would/could fit with possible reasons for Eze 38-9 where Russia moves into the ME, reasons are not given, but speculation is an economy war, or to fix some other problem, which could be Georgia, then Syria. Which in turn would mean kicking the US out. Or both.

Not pushing that view on anyone, but just saying there seems to be some material support for above view.

Bible Thumpers tend to jump on everything for Bible fulfillment, but as opposed to "88 reasons the Rapture will happen in 88", there does seem to be some foundational support considering what is happening. But got to say that is one of the main reasons I follow this thread. Even though the thread is informative and interesting all on it's own,.

So thanks a bunch for this update.

Here is the situation as it stands on Wednesday, March 22, 2023:

Putin-Xi summit in Moscow

Putin warns UK over depleted uranium tank shells for Ukraine

end of list
  • Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping for two days – on Monday and Tuesday.
  • On the second day of talks, Putin and Xi signed an agreement bringing relations into a “new era of cooperation”, with the two leaders calling for “responsible dialogue” to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
  • Putin said a Chinese proposal to end the conflict could be used as the basis of a peace settlement but that the West and Ukraine were not yet ready.
  • The declaration signed by Putin and Xi said the two countries were concerned by NATO’s growing presence in Asia and accused Washington of “undermining” global security.
  • Moscow and Beijing said they will regularly conduct joint military exercises and ramp up cooperation between their armed forces.
  • Putin said an agreement had been reached on the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline, which would send Russian natural gas to China via Mongolia.

Aid and weapons

  • Putin warned the United Kingdom over the provision of depleted-uranium tank shells to Ukraine, saying Moscow would be “forced to react” if these were delivered.
  • The United States has inaugurated its first permanent army base in Poland. More than 10,000 US soldiers are currently stationed in Poland, which has become the main transit country for international aid and equipment to neighbouring Ukraine.
  • Four Republican members of the US Congress have urged President Joe Biden to send cluster munitions to Ukraine.
  • NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg warned China against supplying arms to Russia.
  • The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it has reached a staff-level agreement with Ukraine to help its economic recovery, financing a four-year package worth about $15.6bn.
  • The US has said it will deliver its much sought-after Abrams tanks to Ukraine by the last quarter of this year and fast-track the deployment of advanced Patriot air-defence missile systems.

Diplomacy

  • In a trip coinciding with Xi’s talks in Moscow, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in Kyiv, where he delivered a message of solidarity and support for Ukraine.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had suggested to China that it participate in Ukraine’s peace formula to bring an end to the war but had not yet received a response.
  • Washington said that if China truly was interested in seeing peace in Ukraine, Xi should urge Moscow to withdraw from Ukraine and bring an end to the invasion.

Fighting

  • Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s armed forces need more ammunition and that he expects an increase in supply from Western partners.
  • Russian forces have continued to attack Ukraine’s eastern city of Bakhmut despite sustaining huge losses in troops and weapons, the Ukrainian army said.
  • Ukraine said a shipment of Russian Kalibr cruise missiles was blown up in annexed Crimea on the way to the Russian Black Sea fleet. Russian authorities said the attack by drones targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure.
