No disrespect, I don’t think anyone was ‘right’ concerning the beer virus and its continuing impact on all our lives.
I had no clue except that I don’t believe what anyone says, particularly gubmints, I watch what they do. Having been in the SAR and Medcorps in a past life I was somewhat more attuned, if you will, to what happens in a pandemic. More importantly, how people react and will react before, during, and after.
I did do my due diligence and kept my uppers informed of what was going to transpire at work. Most of my team mates poo-pooed the idea of keeping a minimum of two weeks of food stowed away. My corporate manager believed me but he was one of the few.
We were all sent home Monday morning for the duration. Most who poo-pooed my suggestion of stowing food were pissed at me, saying they were going to come over and partake in my victuals.
All that said to suggest none of us had any idea what was, is, and will continue to transpire through this crap. No one, not even the great Rush. We all just have to put one foot in front of another, deal with what’s in front of us at the moment, and protect ourselves in whatever way we can. The fallout and blame should be left to those who live through this nightmare.

I think Rush is relying on what his doctors are telling him. They told him a fairytale, so as not make him afraid of hospitals so he doesn't give up hope on treatment.
A doctor needs to sit him down and level with him. He's getting people killed. That's unethical.

Wow, the cases are now EXPLODING. Oregon hasn't updated for nearly 2 days now, 690 and 18, but nationwide we are looking at 211,000 cases and 4676 dead, which is 1000 more in the last 24 hours. New York State now has 85,000 confirmed cases and 2000 or so dead. Not sure what the New York city counts are.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has called for a nationwide shutdown in an effort to combat the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus.
The Hill reports that Microsoft founder and billionaire philanthropist has called on a nationwide lockdown of the United States in an op-ed in the Washington Post. Gates states that he has spoken with experts through his charity who have stated that national policy would be more effective than multiple states issuing stay-at-home others while others remain open. Gates argues that the country needs a “consistent nationwide approach to shutting down.”
Gates writes in the op-ed: “Despite urging from public health experts, some states and counties haven’t shut down completely. In some states, beaches are still open; in others, restaurants still serve sit-down meals.”“This is a recipe for disaster. Because people can travel freely across state lines, so can the virus. The country’s leaders need to be clear: Shutdown anywhere means shutdown everywhere,” he added. “Until the case numbers start to go down across America — which could take 10 weeks or more — no one can continue business as usual or relax the shutdown.”
Gates also stated that while a vaccine for the virus could be available within 18 months, “creating a vaccine is only half the battle.” Gates wrote: “We can start now by building the facilities where these vaccines will be made. Because many of the top candidates are made using unique equipment, we’ll have to build facilities for each of them, knowing that some won’t get used.”
He added: “Private companies can’t take that kind of risk, but the federal government can. It’s a great sign that the administration made deals this week with at least two companies to prepare for vaccine manufacturing. I hope more deals will follow.”
States including New York, New Jersey, and Washington have all issued stay-at-home orders while other states have issued less restrictive guidelines.

OK. I gotta say it. I spent about 20yrs working with those who model, plan, strategize, and exercise about any imaginable threat/risk. There are always potential threats on the near and far horizons. A pandemic is just one of them. I concluded a while back that it is impossible to adequately plan for all of them. Also, that we are pretty much on our own while the culture/society/economy adapts to the new reality. If ever there were a case for individual responsibility, we are living it now. YMMV.

Those figures are days old, up from 16 dead and 606 on monday. The greater portland metro area includes Clark county over the Columbia in Vancouver and they just confirmed 14 more a few minutes ago. I'm telling you the marxist thugs just got the first results from testing the Tens of thousands PLUS that had the 56 mile backlog to the beach 10 to 11 days ago, plus the homeless I saw hugging on the 20th. Yep, we also had a break in downtown, plus a lot of violence and craziness ongoing.
