Part of the mess that was this last November was to prevent Young Turks from getting enough seats to start turning over the long established trouphs of DC. This series of votes just confirms it.

And is why there is more than one vote, since there is a majority of Republicans they will keep voting until they vote in a Republican Speaker.
It has happened before, last time over a hundred years ago, and another time it took over 100 ballots and several months.
One important factor, no work gets done until there is a speaker.

The reason that happens is because democrats are a bunch of immoral cowards who will vote for anyone with a D after their name. Conservatives, however, have standards and convictions. I am not interested in more of the same. At this point, I'd rather risk it all on a candidate that espouses my beliefs, or let the country get finished off, if that's what's meant to happen.
Perhaps we could actually elect decent people if conservatives would stop thinking like this: "That person'll never win. I have to vote for someone who actually stands a chance." The very reason the constitutional conservatives never stand a chance is because most conservatives are too AFRAID to vote for them, believing the old adage: 'A vote for a lesser known person is a vote for the other side.' While that may be true on some level, it's also why we continue to get the same milqetoast, traitorous scum in office.
