Have not read he was puking n crapping on subway. Just that he was showing symptoms. Dr Niman does not think the viral load would have been high enough on subway for easy transmission. So very possible nobody is going to catch Ebola from subway. However, it does show it affects ppl's brains immediately and they do not think once they have the virus in their bodies. Self-monitoring and self-quarantining isn't going too well <-- vast understatement.

The CDC doesn't have enough manpower to contact trace in NYC. Not unless they recruit from depts in the city.

Yeah, if doctors or nurses can't self-quarantine, we have a big problem. You think many people will "self-quarantine"?

I wonder if that Doc has ever ridden a NYC subway train in rush hour. Three foot rule? Hell I've been on the subways at rush hour in Manhattan and Brooklyn and there would be literally, without exaggeration a dozen or more people within the three foot rule. If this asshat was on the subway and feeling sick? Open up Alcatraz and put him UNDER the damn cell block!!

Dr. Spencer began to feel sluggish on Tuesday

It took at least 8 days after exposure to get to that point. He had BILLIONS of the virus molecules in his body by day 4. Did he eat in a restaurant and leave saliva on a fork? Did he cough around people on a subway or in a grocery store? Did he use a public toilet or shed something onto a doorknob?

By today he is shedding more in everything coming out of his body. But it does not take a bunch to infect another person.

Reading a study of ebola and marburg viruses in the 1990s, many people were asymptomatic. The path of the virus in the body determines largely if the immune system will be alerted early enough to fight, or if the infection will sneak along building overwhelming numbers too quickly to be stopped. This is partly why some recover sooner and some die horribly.

Certainly the longer a person is infected, the more virions there are to do the dirty work. But from the first day of infection, you have to consider a person "toxic". Anything less is foolhardy.

I am Marie. Just took a pill. I am just so pissed at my kids for not heeding the warnings and now putting my precious grandson in danger. What is wrong with them?

I am sorry that your anxiety has spiked. So many are in denial that anything can/will happen to them. I have seen it in the ER when people come in. We say the first symptom is denial!

ARGHHHHH...Now that asshat Anderson Cooper is saying "we shouldn't be talking bad about him, we should be glad there are people like him willing to go over there and treat people" I swear you can't make this shite up.....

Not to mention that NO ONE knows what mutations his DNA introduced to the disease.

It's a plug for O's plan to bring African Ebola patients here for treatment. Just paving the way...

No he's a doc. GOD occasionally gets a DOC complex.

As I constantly tell people, just because he is a Dr doesnt mean anything.

For one thing, look where he went to med school-Wayne State (that's a total joke of a med school).

And he went to Hopkins undergrad. Which likely means he is from a good home with rich parents who got him in there and he did so badly he ended up at a crappy med school.

Once again the next chapter reads like the same lousy pulp horror novel. After the African traveler, the bungling CDC, the nurse who flew on airlines, the nurse who took the cruise ship, the political hatchet Czar who wants to reduce global population, we now have the symptomatic Dr riding the freaking subway in NYC. This thing is jinxed on Stupid. At this point it cannot be "just coincidence."

Leska, exactly the reason for the "confirmed" thread. Tracking from this moment forward.

It is a good thing we have *this* thread because they are already trying to backtrack and revise earlier statements.
