If memory serves before every major conflict the USA gets their a$$ handed to them a few times. Military leadership changes to what is needed at the time, things reform to a successful operation, and then we win. I am not seeing this to be any different as when push comes to shove these leaders will either get fragged or forcibly removed.

Probably holding what we have in stock for the coming war in Taiwan against the Chinese communists. We're sending Stryker and Bradley IFV's; so maintaining the Paladins wouldn't be a problem for the Ukranians.

2 of the 4 last major operations we have been in are complete failures.
  • Nam (over a million Vietnamese civilians dead)
  • Stan (leaving billions in hardware behind in a rout from the country, not counting the cost in humans)
The Iraq "event" from 2002 to a few years ago can be considered a part success as we did get rid of Saddam and his sons, but it resulted in the death of an estimated million Iraq civilians, birth and death of Daesh, and side achievements with the destruction of Syria.

The only successful operation was in '91 with forcing Iraq out of Kuwait.

And this is not considering the cost of our lost warriors, and the pain of those who survived.

The cavalry is not coming to the rescue this time for either Ukraine or the US.

Royal Navy orders investigation into nuclear submarine ‘repaired with glue’

Claims made that broken bolts on HMS Vanguard’s reactor chamber were stuck on instead of replaced
Joe Middleton
Tue 31 Jan 2023 19.02 EST

The Royal Navy has ordered an urgent investigation amid claims that workers on a Trident nuclear armed submarine fixed broken bolts in the vessel’s reactor chamber using glue.

The faulty repairs on the cooling pipes aboard HMS Vanguard were found after one of the bolts fell off during an inspection, the Sun reported.

The bolt heads originally came off due to over-tightening. But, rather than replacing the damaged shafts, staff at the defence contractor Babcock implemented a quick fix and glued them back on.

Engineers at the contractor reported it as a procedural glitch after the problem was found, but did not mention the botched nature of the repair.

A navy source told the newspaper: “It’s a disgrace. You can’t cut corners with nuclear. Standards are standards. Nuclear standards are never compromised.”

The glued bolts held insulation in place on the coolant pipes in the nuclear reactor and were found just as workers were set to fire it up to full power for the first time, the newspaper reported.

Investigators will trawl records of repairs to find out when the bodged work occurred and who was ultimately responsible.

The Ministry of Defence spokesperson said that a “defect” was found on HMS Vanguard when in dry dock and that it was “promptly reported and fixed”.

The spokesperson said the defence secretary, Ben Wallace, met the chief executive of Babcock, David Lockwood, “to seek assurances about future work”.

Babcock is the MoD’s second-largest contractor and has multibillion pound contracts to maintain the navy’s Astute and Vanguard sub fleets.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Any quality-related issue is a huge disappointment, but our own robust inspection processes discovered the issue. There was no safety or operational impact from the work.”

The Guardian reported in December last year of safety fears as the submarines had been deployed at sea for record-breaking periods of five months each.

Rob Forsyth, who helped command Polaris nuclear submarines in the 1970s, said the lengthy patrol times could lead to “boredom, complacency and an inevitable drop-off in standards”.

HMS Vanguard is one of four nuclear submarines that form part of the UK’s continuous at sea deterrent. The vessels are always out on patrol and are poised to strike in the unlikely event that Britain is hit with a nuclear attack.

An MoD spokesperson said: “As part of a planned inspection, a defect was found from work done in the past when HMS Vanguard was in dry dock. It was promptly reported and fixed.”

Ah, a bit of truth seeps out. You may recall that I castigated (most) journalist's ability to write coherently on firearms and technical subjects. If I recall correctly, the original story referred to the "reactor chamber."

Hmmm. Just what could that be? Were they referring to the actual reactor vessel? Were they referring to the reactor compartment in the submarine? Were they referring to the galley where the cooks were preparing breakfast? I mean, that last bit is possible if they considered the entire submarine to be a reactor chamber!

Well, it turns out that the subject bolts were used to hold insulation onto some pipes! Now that is bad and should never happen on a nuclear submarine, but it's of an entirely different order than suspect bolts being glued onto the actual reactor vessel.

I suspect that most Western journalists go to school to learn how not to write.

America Sleepwalks Into War with Russia

Francis P. Sempa

The United States and its NATO allies are slowly drifting into a war against Russia. The Biden administration and some of our NATO allies, while feigning caution and prudence, have gradually increased their involvement in Ukraine’s war effort. Some Western strategists talk of defeating Russia and forcing Vladimir Putin from power, even trying him as a war criminal. Victory, they say, is just around the corner as along as we continue to arm Ukraine.
I’m reminded of a memorable scene in the movie Nicholas and Alexandra. Russia’s generals and politicians are confidently planning the mobilization of millions of troops against Germany on a huge table-size map. Against the advice of elder statesman Count Sergei Witte (brilliantly played by Sir Laurence Olivier), Tsar Nicholas II orders a general mobilization. Witte, old and gray, slumps in his chair and softly repeats the word “madness.”

Witte had convinced the Tsar in 1905 to negotiate an end to the Russo-Japanese War that was driving Russia to revolution. If Russia mobilized in late July 1914, Germany, France and England would mobilize, too. “Nobody will be able to stop,” warned Witte. And when Witte senses that the Tsar and his generals are not listening to him, he prophetically warns: “None of you will be here when this war ends. Everything we fought for will be lost. Everything we love will be broken […] Tradition, virtue, restraint—they all go […] And the world will be full of fanatics and trivial fools.”
Historians still debate the causes and origins of World War I. George Kennan traced the origins of what an earlier generation called the “Great War” to the end of German Chancellor Bismarck’s European order and the “fateful alliance” between Russia and France. Robert Massie pointed to Germany’s naval challenge to Great Britain. Still others, such as German historian Fritz Fischer, blamed Germany’s hegemonic ambitions. More recently, British historian Christopher Clark argued that Europe’s statesmen “sleepwalked” into the war.

This topic has assumed relevance today as the United States and NATO get closer and closer to co-belligerent status with Ukraine. Newsweek reports that 12 NATO countries, including the United States and Germany, have agreed to supply more tanks to Ukraine. The Biden administration will send 31 M1 Abrams tanks, while Germany is sending 14 of its Leopard 2 tanks. Ukraine’s ambassador to France said that Western countries have agreed to supply Ukraine with 321 tanks. Russia called this latest move a “blatant provocation” and more evidence of “direct involvement” in the war by Western powers.

Despite the seriousness of these decisions, some Western observers are acting like Russia’s generals in the lead-up to World War I. The Guardian columnist Martin Kettle claims that the new tanks will give Ukraine “a military advantage” that could transform the war to Ukraine’s favor. The new weapons, he asserts, have the potential to “put Kyiv in a position to dictate ceasefire and peace terms to Moscow.” The Economist opines that sending Ukraine tanks and long-range missiles will enable it to “withstand the next Russian offensive and to take back the territory that is theirs.” American war hawk Max Boot is confident that the supply of tanks will enable Ukraine to mount a “successful offensive” and to take back its territory. Boot asserts that the tanks along with long-range rockets and advanced fighter planes supplied by the West will “determine the course of the war.” Jeffrey Cimmino and Shelby Magid of the Atlantic Council urge NATO to speed-up production and delivery of even more weapons systems to help Ukraine defeat Russia and integrate Ukraine in Western institutions.

Which leads me to ask: Where are the American Count Witte’s? There don’t seem to be any in the Biden administration. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin are all in for co-belligerency in order to preserve the “rules-based international order.” It was Kennan who warned in 1997 that NATO expansion would revive the worst aspects of Russian nationalist and imperialist traditions. That same year, in an open letter to then-President Bill Clinton, a large group of elder statesmen, including Paul Nitze, Fred Ikle, Robert Bowie, Arthur Hartman, Gordon Humphrey, Stansfield Turner, Edward Luttwak, Richard Pipes, and Sam Nunn, voiced opposition to NATO expansion. Former U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union Jack Matlock agreed with this sentiment and has urged the U.S. to press for a ceasefire in the war. International relations scholar John Mearsheimer has provided Witte-like warnings about the risks of catastrophic escalation in the Ukraine war. The American Conservative’s Douglas Macgregor and the CATO Institute’s Doug Bandow have written eloquently about the dangers of escalation and the need to avoid greater U.S. and Western involvement in the war.
But these modern-day Witte’s are all outsiders. They are not even on the fringes of power like elder-statesman Witte was in 1914. And Witte failed. Are there any Democratic Party elder statesmen who will rise to this challenge? If not, it may soon be too late.

Bismarck, who waged brief wars to unify Germany between 1864 and 1871, and worked thereafter to establish a structure of peace in Europe, lamented that some damn fool thing in the Balkans would ignite the next big war. And once his steady hand was removed from the scene in 1890, the structure of European peace gradually but inexorably fell apart. The result was the cataclysmic First World War that set into motion the Bolshevik seizure of power in Russia and the spread of communism, the rise of Hitler in Germany, the Second World War and the Cold War. That sequence of events made the 20th century history’s bloodiest.

Afghanistan and Iraq should have taught us that wars sometimes generate their own momentum. The prognostications of the proponents of war usually fall apart once the fighting starts. Clausewitz called it “friction.” Edward Luttwak calls it the “paradoxical logic of strategy.” The statesmen of Europe who sent their countries to war in the summer of 1914 thought the fighting would be over by Christmas. Four years later, both sides had used poison gas, more than 10 million were dead, three empires collapsed, and as Count Witte predicted, tradition, virtue and restraint went away. The United States and its NATO allies are risking a wider European war involving nuclear powers for Ukraine to take back two eastern provinces and the Crimea.

John Quincy Adams, our greatest Secretary of State, once said America “goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.” Sentiment and emotion on behalf of the Ukrainian people are no substitutes for hardheaded geopolitics.

As noted at the bottom, Ukraine in what ever shape it ends up in now, no longer will have an outlet to the sea due to the constant escalation the DS has pushed. Stupid choices sometimes have bad consequences.

So sad that so many have died, and will die, all for the power lust of the DS.

German tanks with crosses disrupt Russian genetic memory like nothing else on earth
4th February 2023
by Peter Yermelin

Moscow considers the competition for the supply of tanks between NATO countries as an escalation of hostilities. On February 2, speaking in Volgograd at a concert in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, Russian President Putin said that German tanks once again threaten Russia.

« Incredible, but true: German Leopard tanks with crosses on them threaten us again. Once again they will fight against us on the land of Ukraine by the hands of Hitler's descendants – by the hands of Bandera supporters said Putin.

Moscow does not send tanks to the border of states that drag European countries into the new war against Russia. However, Moscow knows how to react.

« The modern war with Russia will be completely different for them said Putin.

German tanks adorned with crosses disturb and disrupt the genetic memory of Russian soldiers and civilians.

Deliveries of Leopard and Abrams heavy tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the amount of 100-150 combat vehicles are scheduled for April.

Announcing the delivery of 31 Abrams tanks, US President Joe Biden said the Ukrainians were preparing for a counteroffensive. The White House hopes the arms transfer will help Ukraine regain lost territory, including Crimea.

Western journalists have already started talking about an opportunity for strikes on Russian targets using long-range missiles. The next step was also defined: the closure of the skies of Western Ukraine. Until recently, they ruled out such a possibility, but this is how they discussed a possibility of supplying tanks as well.

According to the Pentagon's design, the tanks help the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack the cities of Melitopol and Berdyansk from Kherson and Zaporizhzhia with a view to reaching Crimea. It is obvious that the offensive must be thwarted, otherwise the losses will be heavy.

NATO tanks won't even hit AFU units

Russia must make every effort to ensure that NATO tanks are not delivered to Ukrainian troops.

We want to believe that the Russian special operation command understands this necessity. Russian forces staged additional operations on the fronts of the Zaporizhzhia region and the Donetsk People's Republic, in the direction of Vuhledar. It was reported that Russian troops entered the city and took control of the highway leading from Pokrovsky to Vuhledar.

Immediately after Joe Biden announced that Washington was ready to supply Abrams tanks, the Russian Aerospace Forces launched a drone attack in the direction of kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk (at an industrial enterprise), as well as in the part of the region of Kyiv-controlled Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odessa regions.

Then, on Jan. 26, about six Tu-95s took off from the Murmansk region and launched missiles at targets in Ukraine, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat said. Attacks were confirmed in Odessa (probably on a substation in Usatovo), in Vinnytsia and in the region, in the Kyiv region (possibly on the kyiv pumped storage power plant, the Darnitskaya thermal power plant or car repair shop).

Destroying the energy system and the military bases of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is far from enough. The primary objective is to prevent the arrival of NATO tanks in Ukrainian military units. They must be destroyed at border checkpoints when crossing the Ukrainian border and changing the gauge of railway tracks.

The next objective of the special operation is Odessa

The more aid Ukraine receives from the West, the wider the borders of the special operation. Security Council Deputy President Dmitry Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel that “ the kyiv regime will soon have no outlet to the sea ". It can be assumed that Russian forces will take control of the city of Odessa.

Reference: During the Great Patriotic War, Nazi Germany used Tiger tanks which were marked with the symbols of the Wehrmacht – the Balkenkreuz crosses.
Night Driver started a thread on the tanks that's had a lot of quality info added to it and is now serving as a sort of "deep dive" and "explainer" thread for all things tank, to educate, inform, and to help a bit with keeping this thread uncluttered.
Good info there, even if tanks aren't really a burning interest...

Here is the situation as it stands on Saturday, February 4, 2023:

Fighting, military aid

  • Ukraine will not give up on embattled Bakhmut in the east of the country, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said, as Moscow says Russian forces are encircling the city from several directions.
  • Pete Reed, a humanitarian paramedic and United States Marine Corps veteran, was killed while he was evacuating civilians in Bakhmut after his ambulance was shelled, his wife Alex Potter said on social media.
  • Western allies have pledged precision rockets and missile systems to Ukraine after Zelenskyy called for sophisticated weapons to push back Russian forces.
  • A $2.2bn US military aid package to Ukraine includes a new rocket, the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb, that would double the country’s strike range, the Pentagon has said.
  • France said it has completed technical talks with Italy for the joint delivery of a SAMP/T-MAMBA air defence system, the only European-made system that can intercept ballistic missiles, to Ukraine in the spring.
  • Ukraine’s prosecutor general is launching a criminal case against the Russian head and founder of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, for “waging an aggressive war”.
  • The US imposed sanctions on the board of directors of Iranian drone maker Paravar Pars, with the Treasury Department saying Iranian drones were being used by Russia to attack Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

Diplomacy

  • Germany has collected evidence of war crimes in Ukraine, the country’s prosecutor general has said in a newspaper interview, adding that he saw a need for a judicial process at the international level.
  • Canada has imposed sanctions on 38 people and 16 entities that it says are “complicit in peddling Russian disinformation and propaganda”.
  • The European Union offered strong support for Ukraine at the Kyiv summit as air raid sirens wailed, but set “no rigid timelines” for its accession to the wealthy bloc. Zelenskyy had hoped the EU would put Ukraine on a rapid road to membership.
  • The EU has agreed to introduce price caps on Russian petroleum products to try to further limit Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war chest by targeting his key exports.
  • China said mutual political trust with Russia has deepened further after vice foreign minister Ma Zhaoxu met with foreign minister Sergey Lavrov in Russia.
  • Belarusian athletes openly opposing the leadership of Alexander Lukashenko called on the International Olympic Committee to let them compete while barring those who support the authorities and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine is forming new brigades

January 30, 2023 Jerome News
Ukrainian Ground forces continue to grow and form additional brigades to counter the Russian invasion.

Amid the threat of a new large-scale Russian offensive, the pace of mobilization in Ukraine is gaining momentum. The Ground Forces of Ukraine have started forming new mechanized, tank and artillery brigades to reinforce its combat capabilities. According to the rumors, new brigades are also being formed in the structure of Air Assault troops and Marine Corps. It’s planned to mobilize about 30 000 Ukrainian citizens in January alone, which is a sharp increase compared to previous months.

The new brigades will be equipped primary, but not exclusively, with the Western vehicles such Abrams, Leopard 2 tanks and CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles. Most of the recruits are, or will be, trained abroad.
21st Mechanized Brigade is a brand-new mechanized brigade, currently at the stage of formation.
33rd Mechanized Brigade was formed in April 2016 as part of Ukrainian Reserve Corps, but was subsequently demobilized and de-facto remained only on paper. The brigade has been reactivated and is making its comeback. The unit received new insignia with a wolf, a symbol that reportedly characterizes 33rd Mechanized Brigade.
47th Artillery Brigade is a new artillery brigade of Ukrainian forces, formed during the last months and currently deployed near the Russian border in Kharkiv Oblast.
116th Mechanized Brigade is a completely new brigade of Ukrainian Ground Forces. The brigade is currently at the stage of formation, but volunteers are already seeking donations for the unit and reveled not only the existence, but also the unit number, A4722.
118th Mechanized Brigade is another completely new mechanized brigade at the stage of formation at this moment. There is currently no additional information available and given the possibility that some less familiar people can confuse 118th Mechanized Brigade and 118th Territorial Defense Brigade, we advise to wait for further confirmation.

The new tank, air assault and marine brigades have not yet officially received a number. We’ll keep an eye on these units and in case anything pops up, we’ll update the page.

I believe they are on the way. Around 20. A number of earlier M109s have been provided by NATO countries as well as Cesars and other modern self propelled artillery. I think this mortar is a case of use what you have. We have seen it in both sides with older artillery being brought in. You figure tube life on an artillery piece is about 2500 rounds, we will be seeing a lot of worn out pieces.

Last week I talked about the enduring strengths of the Russian armed forces and their ability to launch offensives and apply pressure in Ukraine. Faced with that pressure, Ukraine's ability to carry on the fight will be driven not just by its own determination, but by the flow of weapons and assistance from its allies abroad.

Aid to Ukraine has evolved dramatically since February 2022, and there are few topics that have attracted more constant press coverage away from the battlefield itself. So today I try and set out how aid has evolved, who the major contributors are, and the impact aid has had - and may have in 2023.

Russia is increasing sales of its foreign exchange reserves to plug a hole in its budget as energy revenues crash.

The finance ministry said Friday that it will sell 160.2 billion rubles ($2.3 billion) worth of foreign currency from February 7 to March 6. That's nearly triple the 54.5 billion rubles worth of forex sold last month.

Since Russia's reserves of Western currencies were frozen after its invasion of Ukraine last year, Moscow has primarily relied on its $45 billion stockpile of Chinese yuan sitting in its wealth fund to cover budget deficits.

And those gaps widened sharply after January energy revenue came in at $6 billion, which was down 54% from the prior month and 46% from a year ago.

I would think this is understood with the news of forced conscription. Sure there will be more Ukrainians sent to the front.

BUT......

I would compare the 30,000 new Ukrainian "citizens" with the 300,000 Russian soldiers who are also new to the front.

30,000 vs 300,000 wonder how that will turn out?

So very sad. Found out in such a way that the news was less important than " a bowl of soup". :shk:

It would be an honor to serve with this man, who cares this much for his comrades.

Hopefully someone in his unit is able to comfort him.

KIEV REGIME LOOKING FOR NEW SOLDIERS AMONG UKRAINIAN REFUGEES ABROAD

Support SouthFront PDF Download

The SouthFront Team received a letter from one of our readers from England. He takes part in the UK Government Homes For Ukraine initiative and hosts a young couple of refugees from Ukraine.

On January 30, he received an official letter from the Department of Equalization, Housing and Communities. The host was demanded to provide the following personal data of his guests:

  1. Whether the sponsor hosts or hosted a Ukrainian refugee(s)
  2. Whether there is (are) a male person(s) among the refugees aged 18 plus
  3. In case a male person(s) left the residence, report this(their) posible location and other available informmation
  4. A male Ukrainian(s) aged 18 plus personal info: name, surname, middle name, age, current location of residence
In their turn, the refugees have to visit the Ukrainian embassy to “specify their personal data individually”.

Our reader wondered what was the reason for collecting such data about his guests:

Distinguished Editor,
I’m James. I reside in Ipswich, East England. I’ve been part of the UK Government Homes For Ukraine initiative for 5 months now. I am hosting a sweet couple from the city of Lviv or something like that, a young lady and her husband. Both in their late 20s. They have already found a job and we get on well together. They are simply nice people but that’s not the point of the story.
Just a couple of days ago I received a letter from the department for leveling up, housing & communities that told me to report the authority a certain data on my guests. I will obviously do that, but I just don’t really get the reason why should I. Moreover, it looks like B… (the lady’s husband, the refugee) must now visit his country’s embassy in London for only God knows what reason. The letter reads ‘Embassy of Ukraine enquiry’.
What does that ‘inquiry’ mean? Why would Ukrainian embassy gather such data? Does anybody know what is it all about?
I hope this email finds you and you would be kind to post it on your platform!
Best wishes,
James …
Obviously, this is not just a survey on Ukrainian refugees. The fact that the embassy is interested exclusively in Ukrainian men over the age of 18 indicates that this measures are taken amid some mobilization procedures. It is likely that the Kiev regime is starting to look for new soldiers among refugees abroad amid the ongoing preparations for the spring offensive on the fronts which was recently announced by Biden.

Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine predicted that at the beginning of 2023 the total number of refugees from the country will increase to nine million people. Which is probably a fairly modest forecast.

The general mobilization of Ukrainians continues amid fierce fighting along the entire front line of Donbass, heavy losses of the Ukrainian Army and the outflow of foreign mercenaries. For example, on January 1, the founder of the private military company “Mozart” Andrew Milburn recognized the victory of the PMC “Wagner” and announced that his mercenaries are leaving Ukraine.

The mobilization resource in the country is sharply decreasing. The AFU mobilizes people of older age groups, with chronic diseases, who have not served in the army, that is, those categories of the population who are unlikely to be good soldiers. Ukrainian men are captured by the military right on the streets throughout the country. LINK, LINK

Kiev Regime Looking For New Soldiers Among Ukrainian Refugees Abroad
The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom has published training footage of Ukrainian crews of Challenger 2 tanks
The search for soldiers abroad may be an attempt to facilitate military supply chains to Ukraine and training of Ukrainian soldiers abroad. Ukrainians who are currently being hunted by the embassy can be mobilized to undergo training in the UK and join the crews of Challenger 2 tanks and participate in other exercises. So the refugees will soon return to their country, but already as part of combat units.

On January 14, the UK was the first among NATO countries to announce the transfer of 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Kiev. The other day, the Kingdom’s Defense Minister declared that the AFU would receive tanks before the beginning of summer. On February 5, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called Zelensky to tell him that British instructors had begun to train Ukrainians to operate Challenger 2 tanks. Sunak promised to make every effort to ensure that “British military equipment arrived at the front as soon as possible.”

In addition to the UK, the training of Ukrainian tankers was organized in Germany, where they are taught to operate German-made Leopard tanks.

Despite the claims of the military officials that Ukrainians are quickly mastering the operation of foreign tanks, some Western experts doubted that Ukrainian tankers would be able to master the management of complex Western military equipment within a few weeks, even if they already have experience in managing Soviet tanks. If the Kiev regime begins mobilizing new servicemen among the refugees in the NATO countries, their training would take even more time.

So the clock starts ticking today, On February 5, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called Zelensky to tell him that British instructors had begun to train Ukrainians to operate the 14 Challenger 2 tanks.
Ukrainians who are currently being hunted by the embassy can be mobilized to undergo training in the UK and join the crews of Challenger 2 tanks and participate in other exercises. So the refugees will soon return to their country, but already as part of combat units.

This is the old "quality versus quantity" argument.

Russia has always been willing to throw people into the meat grinder. Historically, it takes at least 500,000 casualties before they either are defeated or their government/ruling class collapses.

Germany had a population of about 80 million fighting a Soviet Union of about 260 million. They were hopelessly outnumbered, and when their fuel supplies were exhausted about six months into their invasion, the war slowly started to shift to the Russian side.

Putin is attempting to re-create the boundaries of the old Soviet Union. Russia doesn't feel safe until it controls all the access points all around it.
Putin's NATO paranoia isn't a new phenomenon.
He has fought eight military operations during his reign; Ukraine only being the latest. Because the West did basically nothing with his invasion of Crimea, Putin assumed they would quickly fold again.

What is different this time NATO realizes what the stakes are, and is supporting the Ukainians.

We will know know how this will all turn out maybe when the mud season is over.

So far, I would say it's a even match.

POLAND RECRUITING CREWS FOR LEOPARDS TO PROTECT NATIVE POLISH LAND IN UKRAINE

Support SouthFront PDF Download

Polish authorities are recruiting crews for German Leopard tanks supplied to the Ukrainian military. The advertisement calling on local residents were placed in public places.

“Protect the native Polish lands. Become a tank driver. Protect Poland in Ukraine,” reads the advertisement in the Polish metro.
It seems that the Polish authorities decided to recruit more mercenaries in order not to bother with the training of Ukrainian soldiers.

The President of Poland claimed that in addition to the Leopards, he was ready to transfer the remaining T-72s to Kiev. In total, Warsaw has already sent 240 tanks, more than 100 armored vehicles, self-propelled howitzers and ammunition.

The call to protect “Polish lands” in Ukraine is another recognition of direct claims to Ukrainian territory by the Polish authorities, who have already admitted that they are considering the option of including Western Ukrainian regions into Poland.
''The Kiev regime has already lost the sovereignty of the state''.
As soon as the population is convinced, Western Ukrainian lands will be offered to Poland instead of reparations, which Warsaw demands from Germany, and to pay for all political, military and financial support for the puppet regime.

impossible.

the people living in Galcia , the oblast to the north , Ivano Franksvk, the Carpathians, would never, ever submit to Polish rule. never.

yes, some of these areas once had a Polish population, but they were driven out by the Stalin, the Ukr nationalists and the Germans, all before 1945.

wrongs are wrongs. and they must be remembered, but this is not gonna happen.

WAR TO LAST UKRAINIAN ACCELERATES – PRESSGANGS KIDNAP MEN FOR FRONT (OVERVIEW, VIDEOS)

Follow PDF Download the link, watch the videos.

Only four days ago, we published an article about the methods used to hand out draft notices in Ukraine today. In the last few days, the situation has moved to a new level of irrationality.

Men of all ages are simply being kidnapped from the streets of Ukrainian cities and villages. Ukrainian social media reports that, for example, in Dnipropetrovsk, men have even been seized at the entrances to metro stations during air-raid alerts. Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ general staff agreed with the presidential office to hand out draft notices to car drivers during police stops.

This picture needs no comment…

The drive to mobilize has become relentless, given that the General Staff has increased plans for mobilization to 200,000 people.

Kiev is preparing for a massive offensive in spring 2023. It is for this operation that NATO countries are now sending main battle tanks and other military equipment to Ukraine.

The real aim is not, supposedly, to create two new tank battalions, but to form a strike mechanized corps that can breach the front line and drive a deep wedge into Russian-held territory. The capabilities of this new corps are estimated at up to 60,000 men, 250 main battle tanks, up to 1,000 IFVs and APCs, and 100 SPAs. In all likelihood the expensive Western equipment will be operated by NATO crews. There is no time and resources to train Ukrainian crews.

Men are not being drawn off the streets of Ukrainian cities to serve in this corps. They are destined for territorial defence brigades, which will undertake the first wave of attacks. In other words, they will become simple cannon fodder. Without such sacrificial troops, the new offensive would not succeed. The valued troops of the new corps would only suffer heavy losses in the first phase of the operation, making it impossible to implement NATO’s plans to dissect the Russian grouping in the Donbass or to break through to Crimea.

The territorial defence brigades and motorized infantry brigades formed from mobilized people will tear up the Russian defences first. If enough of these formations are gathered, they will be able to break through the first line of defence, obviously at a cost of colossal losses.

Next, the cadre brigades of the AFU, armed with Soviet-era vehicles, are set to go into battle. They are destined to die pushing through the Russian defenses and in battle with Russian mobile units. But if successful, they will pave the way for the new mechanized corps equipped with modern Western weapons, to break through the Russian lines cleanly. There will also be diversionary offensives, in other directions, to hold back the redeployment of reserves.

In the end, NATO seeks to implement one of two scenarios – either to reach Crimea and ideally break into the peninsula, or to cut off the DPR/LPR from the Russian Federation, as was planned in 2014, i.e. to destroy one of the two groupings of the Russian Armed Forces.

Whatever the situation, tens of thousands of Ukrainian men are doomed to die in the coming months in the interests of global capital. And then… and then the exchange of nuclear strikes is likely to follow

What's in the Latest US Arms Package + US Provocations vs Russia & China

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lt0iLMoG7XU

Feb 5, 2023 Russian military operations in Ukraine + US Escalation vs Russia & China continues...

- Latest US arms package for Ukraine contains fewer actual weapons to be transferred to Ukraine, and more contracts for new weapons to be built;

- Weapons like the ground-launched small diameter bomb is included in weapons yet-to-be-built and face compatibility issues with Ukraine's existing MLRS force;

- Other equipment listed like counter battery radar sets appear to indicate large numbers of losses to Russian military operations;

- Germany's decision to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks and 88 Leopard 1 tanks reveal a very deliberate invocation of Germany's sordid history during WW2;

- US weapons pouring into Ukraine are types unlikely to be used in a potential war Washington Seeks to provoke with China;

- The "balloon" incident represents a deliberate stepping stone toward war put in place by US leadership;
