Invar,
It's me again.
Bush - Campaign Finance Reform (backed by the Supreme Court)
Tally - First Amendment Gone.
Bush the Elder and the late 1980's weapons statutes (Brady Bill?)
Clinton - Assault Rifle Ban
Tally - Second Amendment Gone. (I know, this technically happened under Roosevelt - but Clinton and Bush the Elder didn't help)
Everyone (including the Patriot Act)
Tally - Fourth Amendment Gone.
Now, turning to 9/11.
If you truly believe that a bunch of "fundamentalist" muslims who hang out in titty bars drinking alcohol and eating pork could take a fly-by-night (pun intended) training course, fly a few hours and hit the WTC's, then you might as well crawl under your bed and fear the tooth fairy. Sure, building 2, in which most of the fuel flew out the side collapsed first, but we won't actually talk to engineers while preparing our reports. P.S. They were kind enough to leave a passport on top of the wreckage if you were not paying attention.
Also, the planes "happened" to have caused someone to "pull" WTC 7, just for the fun of it.
Do you know how difficult the Pentagon strike was? Ever tried to fly a plane on MS Flight Simulator? Pretty tough to circle, fly at ground level, hit the Pentagon, leave no wreckage, a hole in the Pentagon smaller than the tail fin, and grass that still was in tact. I watched from Pentagon City two days later. You couldn't believe how quickly the remodelling curtains were hung around the place.
So, if you want to defend your beloved President Bush, it is well within your right. You may know kung fu, etc. But I know logic. It wasn't a bunch of camel jockeys masterminding this from a cave in Afghanistan. And if you truly believe it was, you are afraid of your own shadow.
Both parties are using this politically, and yes, the communists as well. You need to think for yourself and not trust Fox News.
Although, Fox does have the cutest info-babes.
And as for the rest of you!
Just to be fair - I have reluctantly come to the view that the election was unconsitutional. No. Not because of the voting or the electoral college. All that was fine and Bush won. However, in the case of a dispute, the constitutional principle is that it should be resolved in the House of Representives and not the Supreme Court. The Republicans controlled the House (disputes are by state delegations). They were too friggen chicken to honor the constitututional process and vote for President. The Supreme Court bailed them out. As a byproduct, we have now set up the Judicial Branch with more power than could possibly be imagined. In 2004, an electronic voting box issue? Let's ask the court. Wonderful ain't it?
We lost more power in the 2000 election than most people realize. After that, the Supreme have been unduly cocky. Haven't you noticed?
