I could see them cutting off Social Security then blaming the republicans for it. I NEVER see them cutting off the welfare class. That could result in nationwide looting and burning within a few days.

Well, if there are over 100 looters, they better have their "vaccine" or they will get booted!

Democrats Panic over Impending Debt Default, Shutdown: 'This Is Asinine'
Wendell Husebø

3-4 minutes

Democrats on Thursday are panicking over the impending debt default and shutdown of the federal government with no backup plan in sight.

“I don’t know what the plan B is… Plan B is to have Republicans step up and be responsible,” Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) told the Hill, blaming Republicans for government disfunction while Democrats control Congress and the Executive branch.
“So then what’s the plan?” Sen. Jon Tester (D-MO) told the publication. “We’ve got to pay our bills,” he added. “This is asinine… People need to remove their heads from their lower extremities.”

As of next Friday, federal agencies must discontinue all non-essential discretionary functions, which leave Democrats panicking because the House Democrats sent a bill to the Senate that will not receive Republican support.

The bill includes government funding provisions and a debt ceiling measure. But Republicans are in no mood to help raise the debt ceiling. Doing so would enable Democrats to more easily pass President Joe Biden’s massive tax and spend legislation.

“This is a totally Democratic government. They have an obligation to raise the debt ceiling and they will do it,” Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said. Democrats need at least ten Republicans to bail Democrats out of their parlous position.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) pointed out that Democrats have the ability to try to pass the House bill by a simple majority upon consent.

“You don’t have to filibuster anything. The Democrats want to increase the debt limit. They don’t want to shut down the government. They come to the floor. They got the 50 votes to do it,” Grassley explained.
But Democrats still seem stumped.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) stated he is “open to different pathways, but… there’s no question in my mind that it will only happen with Republican votes.”

Meanwhile, a Wednesday poll revealed Americans blame Democrats and not Republicans for the impending debt default and possible shutdown.

It is not looking good for the September 30th government shut down not happening.

The house passed a bill avoiding the shutdown and EXTENDING the debt limit to 2022 AFTER the elections. :D
Both of those bills are going nowhere in the senate. The Senate demoncrats did introduce a bill extending the government to December 2021, but it is part of the 3.5 trillion blob the Republicans hate. It is hard for me to keep
track of all this budget :poop: The demoncrats then went with a continuing resolution to just extend the government to december. That one went nowhere although not sure why. DC is TOTAL CHAOS IN DC. Alfaman, I need some cute dog pictures.

Seriously, we have multiple demoncrat groups in favor of this, and oppossed to that, and pushing marxist drivel here and there.

Like now that the afghan "refugees" are raping women the $6.5 billion in the bill for the 100,000 of them is becoming an issue.

Bottom line is as hard as it is to believe, since the dc whores pull this theater :poop: every year, this is the year they might actually be too incompetent to avoid a 9-30-21 government shut down and a mid October? debt default.

Despite what anybody thinks here, a BONA FIDE, actual debt default may be the final straw china and russia need to take down our fiat farce of a federal reserve note as the global reserve currency.

Like food stamps and social security don't go out for November. No money for them.

I think, cross my fingers, a government shutdown on 9-30 still means SS and food stamps go out the first week of October. Maybe?:hof:

I have been prepping for systemic economic collapse for decades. And this is the year I may very well see it happen in the next two or three months. Possibly by Christmas.

Meemur, one of the things I prayed for, when the disaster known as biden and his demoncrats took charge was they be fully exposed and what they hid in the basement be shown on the front yard. This has happened. Everybody knows what they are now.

I have followed the RADICAL MARXIST AGENDA they are pushing, this squad, and the black racists, and assorted liberals and my read is they HATE AMERICA enough to do a samson and pull the pillars down on all of our heads.

They just stripped iron dome replacement missiles for Israel out, so yeah they will shut down the government to get them put back in. And that was the demoncrat muslims that did that.
Things are going to get NASTY this week.

“In a matter of days, millions of Americans could be strapped for cash,” Yellen said.
“Nearly 50 million seniors could stop receiving Social Security checks for a time. Troops could go unpaid. Millions of families who rely on the monthly child tax credit could see delays.”

So, stop sending money overseas and use it for those who paid into the system involuntarily for years! The way Biden is throwing it around, there must be lots of funds available.

I just read per Amir Tsarfarti on Telegram they approved $1b for Israel defense shield. AOC is in tears of dissapointment that they did this!

The more I ponder this budget :poop: the more my head hurts.

Today's vote, in the house, restored the iron dome missiles, that had been cut. To get that done pelosi reaffirmed her deal with the demoncrats progressive wing to have a monday vote on BOTH the $1.5 trillion
bill AND the 3.5 trillion so called infrastucture bill AT THE SAME TIME.

Now the senate is 50/50 with all republicans, including the rinos voting no on the $3.5 trillion plus manchkin and simena,. which means the house vote is a joke. The progressive demoncrats must realize this. They will retaliate by removing the iron dome missiles.
.
Since nobody will actually get any of this stuff passed come October 1st the government is likely to shut down.

The demoncrats clearly think so or they wouldn't be preparing for it.

That's for sure.

My takeaway: I'll try to put away a little more gas money so I can give that out to some of the locals who are going to really be hurting if their social security checks are stopped. The food pantries are having a major fund raiser right now, so I think they will be OK. We still have the "no questions asked" pantries, and that will help some of the seniors food-wise.

As for the rest of it, I'll take it one day at a time.

The U.S. has never defaulted. A debt ceiling shutdown default may occur by mid-October. Since this has never happened before, I don't know if the following information applies.

Reduction In Force rules

An agency is required to use the RIF procedures when an employee is faced with separation or downgrading for a reason such as reorganization, lack of work, shortage of funds, insufficient personnel ceiling, or the exercise of certain reemployment or restoration rights. A furlough of more than 30 calendar days, or of more than 22 discontinuous work days, is also a RIF action. (A furlough of 30 or fewer calendar days, or of 22 or fewer discontinuous work days, is an adverse action.)

This site provides general and detailed information and guidance on RIF procedures.

Reductions in Force

Be careful what you wish for. No one knows what you will get.

Gee, the level of political chaos in Sodom on the Potomac really is astounding.

The latest version of what the demoncrats are planning is even more 3 Stoogish, with apologies to Moe, Larry and Curly.

Political insanity 101. You got the house and the senate. You got the $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill. You got the 3.5 trillion infrastructure bill the demoncrat progressives want to pass together and the republicans and consevative demoncrats want to tinker with.
While that is going on you got the government shutdown happening on 9-30-21, unless the house and senate come up with either a continuing resolution to pay for a month or 3 or whatever.
Next you got the debt default in the next 1 to 3 months unless both of them raise the debt limit 1 to 10 trillion till next year.
Now pelosi will vote on that, raising the 28 trillion to 40 trillion or whatever.
The infighting amongst the demon crats is so intense I think the government shutdown will happen on the 30th. I think the debt default will happen mid october th mid november.
Both the senate and house have to mesh the bills together or nothing happens.

I think September 18th was supposed to cover for them. Maybe China wants a default. Right now that looks like October 15, three weeks.

The problem I have is trying to sort out who is doing what and where they are doing it.

You got the senate and the house which is two separate entities, three when you throw in biden's white house.

Now what they are doing involves FOUR separate items, which have tight time limits. You have TWO separate infrastructure bills, one $1.5 trillion and a separate one totalling $3.5 trillion, both of which have MULTIPLE GROUPS WITH MULTIPLE AGENDAS. Finally, you have TWO separate processes, one a government shutdown on September 30th, and another a official debt default happening in mid October or mid november.
And into that politicial cesspool you have this raving lunacy spewed everywhere.

I'm just not seeing either one being done on time.

They will find a way to keep their Pigs at the trough. They may do political theater in September. But, they will not default in October.

Nope, a government shutdown on September 30th is now INEVITABLE. Like I said, you have two separate bills, the $1.5 trillion one, supported by the moderates, and the $3.5 Trillion dollar one supported by the marxist demon possessed scum.

Piglosi is going to do a vote on Monday and try to satisfy both factions of her party, which is impossible.

As things stand now, here is a link to an article where the head of the Marxist Demoncrat Progressive wing, with 94 progressive demoncrats says 50 of the 94 will vote NO ON THE $1.5 TRILLION INFRASTRUCTURE BILL. The reason being Pelosi won't bring the #3.5 Trillion bill up for a vote FIRST. For one thing the $1.5 trillion bill got whacked down to $1.2. Trillion somewhere along the way?

THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN FOR SEPTEMBER 30TH IS GAME ON.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) said Friday that 50 House Democrats will oppose the $1.2 trillion “bipartisan” infrastructure bill, which is scheduled for a vote Monday.

“Pramila Jayapal told me at least 50 of her progressive members still plan to vote to sink the infrastructure bill if it goes forward Monday,” a CNN reporter tweeted. “She added that leadership taking some steps to move ahead on the big reconciliation bill is ‘not enough.'”

Jayapal is the chair of the 94-member Congressional Progressive Caucus, a powerful force within the Democrat Party.

They want all the fantasy, goodies in the 3.5 trillion to pass first, and then they will vote for the 1.2 trillion. Since that ain't gonna happen, there will be no deal, and no deal means the government shuts down on the 30th. I'm not prepared to say the debt default is a done deal, but it isn't looking good either.

When Jayapal was interviewed Wednesday on CNN, she explained she is concerned the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package will not pass the House if the Democrats give up leverage and pass the $1.2 trillion bill without its far more expansive cousin, which is full of far-left goodies.
“We have to deliver on the entirety of the president’s agenda,” Jayapal told CNN. “We have to deliver on child care. We have to deliver on paid leave. We have to make sure people can go to free community college. We need to make sure we’re taking out climate change. We’ve got to address housing and immigration and Medicare expansion.”
“These are critical priorities for the American people, and if we wait,” she continued, “then it’s kids. It’s working class families. It’s people across this country that voted us in because they knew that this was what we had promised, and now we’ve got to deliver.”

Also, they will never cut off salaries for themselves, or their staffs. Also, never cut off retirement checks for retired Congress Critters.

When they work out with early retirement.

Discontinued service retirements aren't bad either.

I think the Democrats will shut down whatever they believe will get the Republicans to cave the soonest. The Democrats will, of course, blame it on the Republicans who, of course, will say they cannot pass the ridiculous spending plan of the Democrats and round and round they go. I do hope that Congress does not get paid during the shutdown and do not get to collect their pay retroactively.
They'll vote themselves a raise just to spit in our eyes again.

When I was a personnel clerk, my boss told me about an office (I think under Carter) that RIF's except for one employee because a presence of some sort was mandated by law (I forget why).

So as is allowed, everyone bumped everyone else, and the end result was a GS-15 doing a GS-5 clerk's job answering the phone.

For non-government workers, that means the person was getting an executive-level salary at the same pay I was getting as a new-hire personnel clerk.

The "downside" for such employees is they will probably never see a real "raise" again, but then in most cases that hardly matters.

Another great example of the Civil Service (via Congress) pennywise and pound foolish rules and mandates.

Last I read, the $3.5 trillion soft infrastructure bill had not even been written yet and they were still trying to outline what was going to be in it. Has this changed (have they written the bill)?

Government won't EVER freaking shutdown. They may delay getting paid a month but that's it. They will get back pay regardless.
