Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had been hit in an overnight Russian missile strike. The strike followed a series of threats by senior Main Intelligence Directorate officials to "kill Russians" around the world.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed that Russia carried out an attack on the headquarters of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Defense Ministry in Kiev.

"Since the start of the special military operation, the Russian Armed Forces are striking Ukraine, but using high-precision weapons. They are targeting military infrastructure, arms depots and other targets that could be used for military action," Putin said, speaking to a reporter at an economic exhibition on Tuesday.
"We've already mentioned that we can strike decision-making centers and headquarters. Obviously, the Military Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's headquarters is also such a target. And in response, as you are well aware, the Kiev regime chose a different path, a path to try to intimidate Russia and its citizens, to try to target residential buildings. It is an obvious indicator of terrorist activity," Putin said, referring to Tuesday morning's attempted drone attack on the Russian capital.

Strike on Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate

Putin's comments follow reports in Ukrainian and Russian media earlier in the day that Russia had attacked and destroyed the headquarters of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate in Kiev in a missile strike. Traffic along the bridge leading to to the island where the directorate is based was blocked off in the early hours of May 30.

The Ukrainian MoD's Main Intelligence Directorate is responsible for coordinating sabotage, terror and drone attacks inside Russia. In recent weeks, its senior officials have made a series of unambiguous statements about the need to ramp up efforts to "kill Russians," both in Russia and around the world.

"All I will comment on is that we've been killing Russians and we will keep killing Russians anywhere on the face of this world until the complete victory of Ukraine," Military Intelligence Directorate head Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview with US media earlier this month, after being asked to comment on whether Kiev was involved in last year's murder of Russian journalist Daria Dugina. Several weeks later, Budanov confirmed to German media that the list of his agency's targets include Russia's president.

❌✈️The frequency of attacks on Kiev will decrease, according to Ukrainian military intelligence.

The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense(GUR), Andrei Yusov, in an interview with the YouTube channel Online-ua, said that, in his opinion, the Russians are shelling the capital for demonstrative propaganda, but they will not be able to attack Kiev so often and strongly for a long time.

Yeah that.

You bomb a bridge and we take out your electrical grid. You bomb Moscow and we take out.........

And that attack showed Russia, where they were deficient in their defense of Moscow. Showed Moscow where they were weak without gaining anything. Or exploiting it.

And as was said, this is war, one should expect such things.

However IMHO it doesn't mean much for victory in Ukraine, for Ukraine. What it does show is the western backers of Ukraine have upped the Anty. While Moscow should have prepared for such, it also wasn't until recently that the west backed an attack INTO Russia.

I expect everyone thought that the war would stay inside the Ukraine borders.

These drones were able to get past five S-400 systems protecting Moscow. Any air defense system can be defeated by sending enough projectiles at it, but getting past FIVE with just drones?

Now a group of NATO officers wounded in this strike, who are in serious condition
There's more to this story. You don't seriously wound a bunch of guys, like all the same. It's not like cowboy shows where everyone gets shot in the shoulder. You kill some, some are untouched, some have minor wounds, and some are serious. So wonder what the actual casualties amount to.

Are there ANY honest people in politics? Crazy. I have given up hope. (by the way, I never had any hope that the current administration was honest, so please don't misunderstand my statement)

There probably are some. But I think you have to assume the longer they've been in politics, the more likely they'll have been compromised, co-opted, bought-out and corrupted. Others, they just started out that way.

Not a certainty that a longstanding Politician has been corrupted, of course; just a generalized rule of thumb...

Truth of the matter is: none of the modern AD systems were originally designed to defend against drones. Everybody is trying to pivot to this new threat, and they're updating software and systems in real-time.

Small drones, going slower and lower than any fighter or cruise missile, are just ridiculously difficult to "see" and engage. Air Defense Systems are programmed to filter out things below certain thresholds, and these drones are operating below those sensor thresholds most of the time. If you don't have a sophisticated sensor platform up HIGH, looking down, with a specific eye towards tiny composite material aircraft with almost no Radar Cross Section... Well, you're in trouble.

In a world where jets and cruise missiles flying at 200AGL was considered "Low," you now have smart vehicles flying BELOW treetop level on their way to kill you. That's REALLY hard to defend against.

What is informative are the targets hit in Russia - suburb of Moscow - likely very little air defense being a residential / civilian area - NOT a military target. It is impossible to provide 100% air defense coverage over an entire nation. But it is clear that Ukraine avoided attempting to hit military / government targets - likely (with the help of the US) they were able to identify areas that has less coverage - however even these areas took out quite a few of the drones.
The goal of Ukraine was NOT to inflict damage but just to be able to announce they HIT Moscow - the Western press will run with this story for a few day while at the same time avoiding the dozens of missile attacks on Ukraine's military targets by Russia. Once again Ukraine running a PR War - Russia running a Kinetic War - this only ends one way!

They can only fine tune their detection so much before they start targeting birds left and right.

Last night in Odessa, Russia destroyed another ''Military Target'' again.
The ship represents a major loss for the Ukrainian Navy, I believe.
1685476907614.png
Yuri Olefirenko was going to be in a position to support the ongoing Ukrainian amphibious operation on the Kinburn Spit, a three-mile finger of sand and scrub curling south to north across the mouth of the Dnipro River.
The spit is important for two reasons. Whoever holds it can control ship traffic between the Black Sea and the ports of Kherson and Mykolaiv. The spit and the adjacent Kinburn Peninsula also are a way for Ukrainian forces to get into southern Kherson Oblast without crossing the wide Dnipro River while under fire from Russian forces on the left bank.
Now it won't be available for the ''Crimea counter-offensive''.

There might be just one zero big ship left in the Ukrainian navy—the amphibious landing vessel Yuri Olefirenko.

According to information from a Ukrainian source, as a result of a night strike on military facilities in the port of Odessa, the medium landing ship "Yuri Olefirenko" was destroyed.

It is reported that a fire broke out on the deck, which caused the detonation of ammunition in the hold. After that, the Yuri Olefirenko sank. There are significant losses among the ship's crew.

They did close the bridge so it may very well have been hit. If there are NATO officers wounded and being airlifted out then this is a huge coverup. Maybe RF knows NATO members are there and is why those buildings are still standing after all this time, bargaining chips?

Found this information on another site I frequent, May 30 2023 17:09 utc

''My source in Kyiv said that as a result of a strike on a military facility on Rybalsky Island, where the GUR building is located, one of the control centers was hit. With the beginning of the air raid, the personnel of the center descended into the shelter, but the Russian Aerospace Forces used a missile with a penetrating warhead, which pierced through the building, penetrated the foundation and exploded, destroying the shelter, where at that moment there were up to a hundred officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilian personnel, including twenty foreign military from the USA and Great Britain, who interacted between the Center and similar Western headquarters.

A rescue operation was immediately launched. Its results are unknown, but, according to the call center of the Kyiv "Ambulance", more than ten ambulances were immediately pulled there and about thirty trips were made. On the same evening, two helicopters urgently took off from Kyiv towards the border with Poland.''

2) Former Ukrainian MP Ilya Kiva said that in Kyiv a Russian missile hit the headquarters of the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, called today's attack by Ukrainian drones revenge for this strike.

Russia hit a Ukrainian strategic facility on Rybalsky Island within the boundaries of Kyiv, where the headquarters of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov was located on the night of May 30.
Publicist Yulia Vityazeva spoke about one of the versions of the incident in her Telegram channel.

According to her version, the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation attacked the control center of the Ukrainian troops, which was located on Rybalsky Island. Ukrainian, American and British strategists tried to escape by going down to the shelter in advance, but to their misfortune, Russia used a missile with a penetrating warhead that pierced the bunker through and through.
Twenty foreign military personnel from the US and Great Britain, as well as more than a hundred officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilian personnel, were walled up. On the same day, two helicopters urgently took off from Kyiv in the direction of Poland.

Putin's 'incompetent' Russian Air Force could run out of pilots | Ukraine Russia update: Since the very first day of Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, Russia’s blundering air force has been struggling to keep its jets in the sky. The Ukrainians have done their part, blowing apart fighters and helicopters with their air defence missiles. But at least a dozen of Putin’s planes have burst into flames mid-air, plunged into Russian cities, or exploded on the runway. Bungling pilots have managed to crash into an American drone over the Black Sea and almost shot down a British spy plane, either of which could have sparked World War Three. And, just last month, a Russian jet even managed to bomb one of its own cities. This is the story of how one of the world’s supposed best air forces has suffered an embarrassing string of failures that is only getting worse, the longer the war goes on.
