RICHMOND, Calif. (KTVU) - Police have responded to several looting incidents around the Bay Area since Election Night.

The latest incident occurred around 12:01 a.m. Thursday at a shoe store in Richmond where authorities said 100 pairs of Yeezy sneakers and athletic apparel were stolen.

Richmond police saw at least 8 suspects fleeing the store carrying boxes of shoes. They fled in numerous cars.

So far, police have only made one arrest in the case.

Over in Emeryville, 19-year-old Tariq Norman was arrested for allegedly looting a CVS Pharmacy Wednesday night.

East Bay businesses looted for the second night in a row

According to police, Norman was part of a large group that entered the store around 8:22 p.m. and stole pharmaceuticals.

Everyone in the group managed to escape, except for Norman.

Then on the same night in San Leandro, sheriffs deputies investigated a looting incident at Big 5 Sporting Goods store on Hesperian Boulevard.

Authorities have not confirmed any arrests or what merchandise was stolen during the incident.

On Election Night, Oakland police officers responded to robberies at cannabis clubs and break-ins at other stores, which they believe was a planned effort as the nation was preoccupied with selecting the next president.

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — Roving armed caravans of thieves are targeting businesses in Oakland, police chief Susan Manheimer said at a news briefing Thursday following a police shooting on election night that left one dead.

The shooting occurred in East Oakland and left three police officers injured when the officers were struck by vehicles the thieves were driving, police said. The injured officers were sent to hospitals and have been released.

At the briefing at 4:10 p.m., Manheimer said this is not the first time Oakland has experienced this problem.

“Our community needs to know about these roving caravans,” she said. “It’s a growing trend.”

Before these latest robberies and burglaries, Manheimer said the city saw similar activity in May and June of this year, around the time of the George Floyd demonstrations.

She said the thieves seem to be active when police are tied up with other things, such as demonstrations.

That’s when they attempt to steal from pharmacies, marijuana growing operations and dispensaries and other businesses, evening going so far as to steal multiple cars.
Manheimer cited the theft of numerous cars from a San Leandro car dealership earlier this year as one example.

The chief asked residents to call police if they see a possible caravan coming into the area.

“They are extremely dangerous,” Manheimer said.

Police believe there are many groups involved, some copying others because the initial ones have been successful and the problem is occurring elsewhere in the country such as Los Angeles and Chicago.

Manheimer said law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area are starting to work together to address the problem.

“We are readjusting our tactics,” Manheimer said. “We are going to stop this initiative.”

A tweeted video shows a fight between a Black man and a young white man during a Biden-Harris rally in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday afternoon.

A video tweeted by cinematographer Rebecca Brannon shows two men in what appears to be a heated discussion during a Biden-Harris rally on Saturday. The Black man appears to be angered over a phone that no longer appears to be in his possession.

“I dropped my phone,” he yells at an unidentified person. “Get my phone. It was right there.” A young white man appears to block the path of the man to keep him from going to where he believes his phone is located.

Suddenly, as the young man looks away, the older man begins throwing multiple punches — striking the man in the head and face multiple times. As he retreats, someone wrestles him to the ground.

In an apparent concern over optics, one of the organizers yells over the PA system, “Come on! The last thing we want to do is see a Black man get arrested by the Police.”

“What is wrong with you,” someone else shouted.

Another person yelled, “Black people just made history today and you want to be f*cking ignorant. You want to bring the place down! F*ck you!”

The incident took place at the same rally where a Black man danced with a Black Lives Matter flag in his right hand and the effigy of a beheaded Donald Trump in his left, Breitbart News reported.

People in the crowd danced and sang “F*ck Donald Trump” while holding up an extended middle finger.

Violence broke out between Antifa members and Trump supporters during a rally at the state capitol in Washington State. The supporters of U.S. President Donald J. Trump had gathered at the state capitol to question the legitimacy of the election when the clash broke out.

On Saturday afternoon, dozens of Trump supporters took to the streets in Olympia, Washington, and made their way to the capitol to protest the results of the current election.

Dozens of vehicles could be seen earlier in the afternoon heading to the state capitol in Olympia, said local journalist Matt McKnight.

During that protest, a cell phone video posted by local citizen journalist Katie Daviscourt captured the moment when police use tear gas and less-lethal munitions to break up a fight between alleged Antifa and BLM members and Trump supporters. In that video, a bloodied man in a black sweatshirt claims to not remember how he got hurt in the scuffle.

A group of Joe Biden (D) supporters screamed obscenities at President Donald Trump supporters as they sang the National Anthem on Saturday in Austin, Texas.

Video footage showed the Biden group standing on one side of the street and one man yelling “**** fascist USA!” while another person screamed “**** Trump!”:

Moments later, the camera panned around to show a crowd of Trump supporters carrying American flags and Trump 2020 flags in front of the Texas Capitol as they sang the Star-Spangled Banner.

One person held a sign that read “Ballot Laws Matter.”

Although several media outlets declared Biden the winner of the presidential election on Saturday, President Trump’s allies doubled down, saying the media “do not get to determine who the president is,” according to Breitbart News.

“No matter what the media tells you, this is NOT over. It’s not over until every LEGAL vote is counted. This is America. We the PEOPLE decide who our next President is. NOT the media,” said Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA).

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) echoed his comments, adding, “There are still serious legal challenges that have been made, and until that process is resolved, the election is not final.”

In a statement to corporate media on Saturday, President Trump said, “The American People are entitled to an honest election: that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots.”

“This is the only way to ensure the public has full confidence in our election,” he explained.

Trump continues to close the gap in Arizona, as Biden’s lead has dropped well below 30,000, Breitbart News reported Saturday:

As of Friday night, Biden’s lead in Arizona shrunk to 29,861 as Trump consistently closes the gap while the state continues to tally outstanding ballots. On Friday night, Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) said 173,000 ballots remained outstanding, in addition to 47,000 provisional ballots which officials will not tally until next week.

In his statement, the president said “I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands.”

Supporters of former Vice President Joe Biden and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) flooded into the streets Saturday in New York and Washington, D.C., to celebrate their reported victory in the 2020 presidential election.

The celebrations began after corporate media outlets called the race for Biden on Saturday.

In New York City, supporters began honking their horns and clanging pots and pans and cheering as the news was announced.

Crowds of supporters waving signs filled the streets in Times Square.

President Donald Trump has not conceded the race, despite falling behind Biden in several states he needs to win the election. The president vowed Saturday to continue contesting late-counted ballots in court, with claims of voter fraud.
