Not one peep out of Joe or Kamala. If nothing else you think they would be whining about no masks, right? I hope when President Trump get's reelected he turns the police loose on these animals.

Why would you think Trump would do that? He hasn't done so thus-far.

No Insurrection Act even though he Tweeted about it a bunch.

National Guard deployed to Philadelphia
Gov. Tom Wolf ordered soldiers to the city in anticipation of a second night of violent riots over deadly cop shooting
By Louis Casiano | Fox News

Riots breakout in Philadelphia after fatal police shooting
Philadelphia police clashed with protesters hours after a Black man armed with a knife was shot and killed by two officers in the western part of the city. At least 30 cops were injured.
The Pennsylvania National Guard was deployed to Philadelphia Tuesday as the city braces for a second night of violent riots after tense confrontations between angry demonstrators and police hours after two officers shot and killed a Black man.

Several hundred guardsmen will assist local agencies in "protecting life, property and the right to peacefully assemble and protest," Lt. Col. Keith Hickox said in a statement Tuesday. "We are able to conduct operations in support of civil authorities to enhance local law enforcement’s ability to provide continued public safety and critical infrastructure security."
The move by Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat, to activate the guard is a stark difference from other Democratic governors who have been hesitant or slow to mobilize troops in response to unfolding unrest.
The Philadelphia Police Department will also beef up its presence across the city in anticipation of possible unrest over the death of Walter Wallace Jr., 27, city leaders said.

"For today and this evening, we anticipate the chance of additional incidents of civil unrest and, as such, we will be taking additional steps to ensure order," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said during a news conference along with Mayor Jim Kenney and city leaders.

The city will increase the number of officers at "key locations" within the city to respond to any reports of violence, she said. Officials have also asked law enforcement agencies outside the city to help bolster personnel, Outlaw said.
Specifics regarding the number of officers and locations of where they will be placed were not released.

"We were hoping that we won't have any repeat of we've seen last night and we're taking every precaution that we can," Kenney said.

Wallace, who struggled with mental health issues, was shot Monday by two officers responding to a domestic call about someone with a weapon. He was armed with a knife and refused to drop it, police said. Each officer fired approximately seven rounds, officials said.
It was not clear how many times Wallace was hit.
The shooting ignited outrage among residents and prompted hundreds to take to the streets in protest.
The gathering turned violent. About 30 officers were injured, including one who was "intentionally run over" by a pickup truck. Some officers were pelted with objects and 91 people were arrested.
Outlaw said eight police vehicles were damaged, including one that was set on fire.
"This completely caught us off guard," she said of the unrest.

In a joint statement, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., denounced Wallace's death and the unrest that followed.
"Walter Wallace's life, like too many others', was a Black life that mattered -- to his mother, to his family, to his community, to all of us," the statement said. "At the same time, no amount of anger at the very real injustices in our society excuses violence. Attacking police officers and vandalizing small businesses, which are already struggling during a pandemic, does not bend the moral arc of the universe closer to justice."
Outlaw said the department has not determined when police body camera footage of the shooting will be released.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner reportedly said he hopes that his office will release the footage, but that he would need to discuss it with Outlaw and other city leaders. In a news conference Tuesday afternoon, he pledged that his office will conduct an impartial investigation, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

“We are not out to cover for anybody. We are not out to get anybody,” Krasner said.
In his three years in office, Kranser has charged two police officers over misconduct. Both cases are pending. No Philadelphia police officers have been charged for an on-duty shooting in two decades, according to the newspaper.
Calls from Fox News to the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police, the union that represents rank-and-file officers, were not returned.

In anticipation of more unrest, businesses across the city were boarding up windows or closing early.

Several were damaged Monday night, including 10 CVS Health stores, a company spokeswoman told Fox News. In response, all CVS stores in the city will close at 7 p.m. "out of an abundance of caution."
"Thankfully, no employees were hurt," the spokeswoman said. "We’re working to repair the damage and will reopen stores as soon as it is safe to do."

Media Promotes BLM Lies in Philadelphia, as Rioting Continues for the Second Night
Posted on | October 27, 2020 | 12 Comments

Philadelphia_Protest-e1603850455802.jpg

Looting is already being reported in Philadelphia tonight, the second night of #BlackLivesMatter riots following the Monday afternoon police shooting of 27-year-old Walter Wallace Jr. In last night’s Mostly Peaceful™ Protest, “76 people were arrested for burglary including three with guns, 11 were arrested for assaulting police officers, and three were arrested for failure to disperse,” according to WPVI-TV.

Why riot over this case? Wallace was shot after he charged two police officers while brandishing an 8-inch knife. This was not the first time cops had to deal with Wallace, nor even the first time that day:

Police were called dozens of times in recent months about problems at Walter Wallace Jr.’s home, and had responded twice on Monday to reports of disturbances at the West Philadelphia house before two officers answered a third call and shot him as he approached them with a knife, according to law enforcement sources.

What happened during those earlier visits — including which officers responded and how much they knew about Wallace’s mental health problems — remained unclear Tuesday.

Yes, a lot “remained unclear” about what happened Monday, except that a knife-wielding maniac got shot by cops. While the media keeps repeating the theme that Wallace suffered from “mental health problems,” lots of people have problems, but they usually don’t get shot by cops. Why? Because they don’t charge at cops with 8-inch knives.
Who was Walter Wallace Jr.? You have to read down to the 13th paragraph of the Philadelphia Inquirer story to find out:
In and out of court since he was 19, Wallace had convictions for crimes including resisting arrest and robbery. Court records show that city judges routinely sought to get him mental health treatment.
Oh, he had “convictions for crimes”? Maybe that’s a fact important enough to include in a headline, as Information Liberation does:

Meet Walter Wallace Jr, The Career Criminal
Whose Shooting by Police Triggered Riots in Philly

There’s some brutal for you, and maybe people would take a different view of the subject if they understood that Walter Wallace Jr. has been a violent menace to society his entire life. But the mainstream media won’t give you that kind of context, forcing you to read through a dozen or more paragraphs before they inform you that the lunatic who charged cops with a knife had an extensive criminal record. Would you like to see the suspect’s mug shot? How about 12 mug shots?
Walter_Wallace_Jr_Arrest_Philadelphia_Mug_Shot-e1603850444467.jpg

As Chris Menahan of Information Liberation says, Wallace “has so many mugshots I couldn’t fit them all into one properly-sized header image . . . Wallace had a criminal record going so far back I can’t even find the whole thing.” Charged in 2015 with aggravated assault and four misdemeanors, Wallace took a plea bargain, pleading guilty to two misdemeanors — terrorist threats and simple assault — and was sentenced to three years’ probation. You might think this was important, but here’s the lead of the story at WCAU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia:

A day after he was shot and killed by two police officers, sparking protests and a night of civil unrest in Philadelphia, family members of Walter Wallace Jr. are speaking out, describing him as a husband, father and aspiring musician who struggled with mental health issues.

An “aspiring musician who struggled with mental health issues”! The guy was practically Mozart, you might believe from that description, but if you keep reading until you get to the 21st paragraph:
Court records also reveal Wallace’s extensive criminal history.
He was arrested in March after he allegedly threatened his child’s mother over the phone, saying “I’ll shoot you and that house up.”

In 2019, he was charged with resisting arrest by “kicking the windows and door panels of a police patrol car.”
In 2016, during a robbery, he allegedly grabbed a woman by the neck and held what she believed to be a gun to her head, according to court records.

In 2013, Wallace’s mother had a protective order against him which he allegedly violated when he “threw water in her face and punched her in the face” and “threatened to return and shoot” her, according to court records.
He punched his own mother in the face, but you wouldn’t know that unless you read more than 20 paragraphs into the story. Never mind — go steal a big-screen TV at Wal-Mart, because social justice.

The Democrat-run city of Philadelphia will implement a citywide curfew between 9:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. after a second night of rioting and looting, according to CBS Philly.

172 people have been arrested and 53 police officers injured during violent unrest since the fatal police-involved shooting of Walter Wallace Jr. in West Philadelphia on Monday, the local news outlet reported.

One female PPD Sergeant was struck by a pickup truck amid the riots.
Wallace is said to have been clutching a knife and refused to relinquish the weapon before he was shot by two police officers.

As Breitbart News reported, multiple stores, including a Walmart, were target by a swarm of looters Tuesday evening:
Looters in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia ransacked a Walmart during the second night of protesting the shooting of an armed Black man on the city’s west side. Rioters broke pipes in the ceiling, flooding the store.
Fox29 reporter Steve Keeley tweeted video from inside the pillaged Walmart early Wednesday morning. The footage shows the devastation left behind by looters who stole everything from big-screen televisions to small appliances. Water is seen spraying from pipes in the ceiling.
President Donald Trump has called for “law and order” and deployed federal agencies to certain cities to respond to the unrest.

White House communications director Alyssa Farah told Fox News on Tuesday that the White House is again “prepared to deploy” federal resources to Philadelphia in response to Monday’s protests.

“We’re monitoring the situation closely,” she said. “President Trump will not tolerate any violence directed at America’s law enforcement. And, look, the actual case, we’re going to let the facts play out, let the investigation play out, but we will not tolerate lawlessness in our streets.”

Nolte: Riots in Democrat-Run Philadelphia Described as a ‘Total Loss’

Why would any sane person want to live in a Democrat-run city?

Why live in places like Philadelphia, where two nights of rioting have resulted in what’s now being described as a “total loss”?

Walter Wallace Jr., the man shot and killed by the Philadelphia police three days ago, is not George Floyd. George Floyd was lying on the ground helpless for eight minutes as a police officer, who’s now been charged with third-degree murder, kneeled on his neck. Walter Wallace Jr. brandished a knife before he was shot.

But so what, right? Who cares about facts? Philadelphia is a Democrat-run city, so the terrorists in Black Lives Matter and Antifa know they can riot, loot, burn, and kill however much they wish. Oh, and injure no fewer than 30 police officers.

That’s not hyperbole, below is the order telling police to stand down as the domestic terrorists rioted, looted, burned, and killed.
Breaking: OBTAINED BY FOX29 NEWS. Directive from @PhillyPolice executive team. You can bet those orders came straight from the top. Straight from the mayor’s office, and the current mayor is a Democrat, and Philadelphia has not had a Republican mayor since — this is not a typo — 1952.
Eleven people have been shot during this mayhem.
CBS Philly:
Looting and demonstrations continued for a second consecutive night Tuesday in Philadelphia following the fatal police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr. in West Philadelphia. Police say looting along Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood has “rapidly gone downhill” Tuesday night and is a “total loss.”

On Tuesday night, the police reported a mob of “1000X is looting businesses in the area of Castor and Aramingo.”

A thousand people looting.
A thousand!
It’s like the zombie apocalypse in a major American city.

The police also told people in seven separate districts to “remain indoors except when necessary. These areas are experiencing widespread demonstrations that have turned violent with looting.”
The Philadelphia Police Department is requesting that all residents in the 12, 16, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26th Districts remain indoors except when necessary. These areas are experiencing widespread demonstrations that have turned violent with looting.

More:
Footage aired by local news channel KYW-TV showed people entering a Foot Locker store and a Walmart in the Port Richmond neighborhood, northeast of the city center, before re-emerging armed with televisions and other goods.
Police said that up to 1,000 people were involved in the looting and issued a warning for others to avoid the area of Castor and Aramingo altogether as a result of the developments.

Over the last few days, police cars have been set on fire, countless stores have been ransacked, including a Rite-Aid and clothing stores, all of this happening just days after the city council — which is Democrat-run — outlawed police from using tear gas, pepper spray, or rubber bullets.

And now, Philly is a war zone bursting with violence, criminality, death, and marauding.

18 ATM Machines ‘Blown Apart’ in Two Nights of Philadelphia Riots

Police reports indicate that 18 ATM machines were “blown apart” during two nights of rioting in Philadelphia. The incidents took place as rioters and looters ransacked the city following the shooting of an armed black man.

Fox29 Philadelphia reporter Steve Keeley tweeted police reports showing multiple ATM machines being “blown apart” by looters attempting to steal cash from the machines. The reports indicate the destruction of 18 ATM machines throughout the Philadelphia area during two nights of rioting and looting.
His report filed with Fox29 shows the level of destruction applied to two ATM machines at the TD Bank located at the Walmart that was pillaged Tuesday night.

Philadelphia bomb squad investigators are looking into the series of explosions at ATMs across the city.

ABC6 in Philadelphia also reported on the large number of explosions involving ATMs. Video obtained from a grocery store in West Philadelphia shows the destruction for one of the machines. Looters open the machine and set off a second explosion, the report states.

Philly Imposes Wednesday Night Curfew To Try And Prevent 3rd Night Of Chaos

After 30 officers were wounded on Monday evening, including one who remains hospitalized with a broken leg after being hit by a truck, thousands of looters massed in downtown Philadelphia on Tuesday for a second night of chaos, where entire big box department stores were emptied of merchandise, while officers were attacked and at least one reporter was badly beaten.

Fewer police were injured on Tuesday, possibly due to the fact that they gave the worst of the rioters a wide berth, at one point reporting that there were several thousand people in the afflicted area of West Philadelphia, looting stores and carrying off everything from food to big-screen TVs.

Some on social media couldn't help but make light of the situation (after all, humor is one of the most effective coping mechanisms).
Of course, it's not a riot without copious video of masked thieves pouring out of department stores clutching whatever merchandise they could grab.

Philly's national guard mobilized Tuesday in response to the prior night's unrest, and the police department said even more officers were on the streets. Some reported that a U-Haul was driven up to a Wal-Mart in Philly, where it was quickly filled with merchandise.

Notably, PA's Dem Governor Tom Wolf broke with other democratic governors and ordered in the guard without hesitation, a clear sign that he's aware the unrest could impact the results of the upcoming presidential race, in which Philly is a critical swing state (some say whoever wins Philadelphia will carry the day).

In a statement, the White House denounced the violence and looting as yet another consequence of Democratic officials

Philly's Mayor Jim Kenney yesterday urged everybody to withhold their judgment pending an investigation, though he acknowledged that the footage of the incident was alarming and presents "difficult questions."

Meanwhile, the official account for the Philly police tweeted throughout the night, first warning citizens to avoid the area of Castor and Aramingo where most of the looting took place.

Outside West Philly (where a certain Fresh Prince was memorably born and raised), about 1,000 other looters hit shops in the Port Richmond neighborhood in the northern section of the city.

The violent protests broke out hours after Philadelphia cops shot and killed 27-year-old Walter Wallace Jr. on Monday, after his family summoned police to the house once again for help dealing with his mental health issues. At one point, he advanced on police with knife, after refusing orders to drop it, provoking police to open fire. Police officials said the men weren't armed with tasers due to budget cuts. Video of the incident went viral on social media. The man's father told the press that his son had been shot at least ten times, though he denounced the violence and looting.

At least 90 people have been charged in the violent protests so far, police said Tuesday, and that number could rise as investigations continue and the unrest intensifies.

On Tuesday night, Elijah Schaffer, a journalist with The Blaze recorded some of the widespread lootings taking place in Philadelphia. As he entered a discount store, dozens of masked rioters were in the process of looting. He became the target of a violent assault as looters demand he stop recording their criminal activity.

“Hey Bro stop recording,” several men shouted before surrounding Schaffer and attacking him. Shelby Talcott from the Daily Caller captured the assault on video.

The widespread rioting and looting in Philadelphia is tied to the recent shooting of Walter Wallace, Jr. who chased police officers with a knife forcing two police officers to fire at him. Despite efforts by police to save him, Wallace died shortly after at a local hospital. As Breitbart News reported, on Monday, protesters turned violent in a series of riots that sent more than 30 police officers to the hospital, including one female sergeant who was struck by a truck driven into a line of police.

Daily Caller media reporter Shelby Talcott joined “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday evening to discuss her firsthand account of the mass looting in Philadelphia that broke out after the Monday death of Walter Wallace Jr.

“The protest started out in West Philly which is where Wallace Jr. was killed, and that situation was very tense, but not overly violent,” Talcott told Carlson. “Then about 10 miles away was where all the looting actually occurred. I think simply a bunch of opportunistic individuals who realized that these protests could be used to loot and steal and destroy parts of the city, and that’s exactly what we saw.”

Carlson followed up by asking, “Where were the cops?”

“Police officers were there,” Talcott noted. “They were literally watching these individuals run into the Five Below store, hundreds of them would run in and run out for hours, and just down the road, in the same parking lot actually, police were standing in front of the Walmart just watching it happen.”

Talcott added she asked one of the female police officers why law enforcement did not have the situation under control.

“She essentially said they were understaffed, there were too many people in Philadelphia and they didn’t seem to be doing all that much,” Talcott concluded.

Following the death of Wallace Jr., mass rioting and looting broke out across northern Philadelphia on Monday and Tuesday night resulting in over 30 arrests.

BLM protesters chant 'Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground!' as second night of Philadelphia riots erupt

Black Lives Matter protesters in Philadelphia were recorded reciting a violent anti-police chant during the second night of rioting over the deadly police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr. on Monday.

The protesters' chant was recorded by BlazeTV reporter Elijah Schaffer, who was told to stop recording shortly after capturing the video.

"Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground!" They chanted on the video before the frame jerks as an Antifa girl hits his camera. She is heard saying, "Stop filming!"

Protesters immediately mobilized after video of the police shooting of 27-year-old Wallace went viral on social media.

The video shows Wallace walking toward police as they yell at him and eventually shoot him. Police say he was armed with a knife and allegedly had it out as he approached them and ignored their commands.

Philadelphia erupted in violent protests and looting caught on social media that evening. On Tuesday, the rioting sparked up again with more videos of looting across the city.

Earlier in the evening, Schaffer documented some of the protesters, which he estimated at 400, marching through the streets.

More than 30 officers were hurt in the rioting on Monday, including a 56-year-old sergeant who was intentionally struck by a truck racing through an intersection with police officers attending to the riot. She suffered a broken leg as well as other injuries, police said.

More than 90 people were arrested during the rioting on Monday, most of which were charged with burglary, while 11 were arrested for assault on a police officer.

Law enforcement officials in Philadelphia have reportedly launched an investigation into a vehicle that was discovered containing explosives and suspicious items, which comes as the city is rocked by left-wing anti-police riots and widespread looting.

“Action News has learned that police recovered propane tanks, torches and possible dynamite sticks from the van,” ABC 6 reported. “The bomb squad is on the scene at this hour.”

“City officials say at least 200 businesses, many of them already struggling in the midst of the pandemic, were the targets of massive looting across the city,” the report added. “To assist police, an undetermined number of Pennsylvania National Guard troops will soon be arriving in the city.”

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney slammed those who were looting and rioting, saying that the destruction of property will not be allowed.

“The looting that has taken place is distressing, and it is clear that many of these folks are taking advantage of the situation, harming our businesses and communities, and doing a great disservice to those who want to protest the death of Walter Wallace, Jr.,” Kenney said. “We cannot allow others to destroy property. I have requested the assistance of the PA National Guard. Their role will be to safeguard property, prevent looting, and provide operational and logistical assistance to @PhillyPolice and other departments.”

‘Death To America’: Left-Wing Rioters Tag, Destroy Businesses During Widespread Looting
By Amanda Prestigiacomo

Protesters set a sofa on fire in West Philadelphia on October 27, 2020, during a demonstration against the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Walter Wallace, a Black man, by police.

Rioters tagged a Bank of America with “Death to America” graffiti and destroyed numerous other stores during the second night of widespread rioting and looting in the Democrat-controlled city of Philadelphia, video shows.

The city erupted with violence and crime ostensibly in response to the fatal shooting of a black man who allegedly wielded a knife at officers and refused to comply with orders to disarm.

“A Bank of America’s windows were smashed and tagged with ‘death to America’ while a black person was still in it! The fire in the background makes the video look more cinematic,” captioned independent protest reporter Elad Eliyahu.

Similarly, during rioting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, back in August, rioters screamed “Death to America” and burned the American flag.

The Daily Wire reported at the time: “In one incident from the demonstration caught on video and circulated online, one protester holding a small American flag screamed ‘Kill the f***ing police!’ A second video showed a flag being set on fire as a protester shouted, ‘Death to America!'”

The video from Tuesday night in Philadelphia shows other graffiti that appears to read “f*** bank” and “class war”; the “a” in war is drawn with a circle around it, an apparent nod to violent and destructive left-wing group Antifa, which uses the anarchist symbolism.

As reported by The Daily Wire, other businesses, including a Footlocker, Chick-fil-A, and T-Mobile, were also damaged and looted by protesters.

The looting was so excessive that one protester, according to Fox News, seemingly brought his own appliance dolly to jack a washing machine.

The rioting was similarly violent on Monday night, when at least 30 police officers were injured, including one hospitalized with serious injuries.

“The ostensible reason for this latest bit of barbarity is the shooting of Walter Wallace Jr.,” penned The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh on Tuesday, in response to the rioting. “As a video recorded by a bystander shows, Wallace was armed with a knife and approached officers after refusing to comply with their orders.”

“This would seem to be about as lawful as police shootings get,” he argued.

In a statement, the White House called the destruction in Philadelphia “the most recent consequence of the Liberal Democrats’ war against the police.”

“The riots in Philadelphia are the most recent consequence of the Liberal Democrats’ war against the police,” the statement reads. “Law enforcement is an incredibly dangerous occupation, and thousands of officers have given their lives in the line of duty. All lethal force incidents must be fully investigated. The facts must be followed wherever they lead to ensure fair and just results.”

“In America, we resolve conflicts through the courts and the justice system,” the White House added. “We can never allow mob rule. The Trump Administration stands proudly with law enforcement, and stands ready, upon request, to deploy any and all Federal resources to end these riots.”

An apparent disagreement over protest leadership broke out in Philadelphia Tuesday night between BLM and Antifa protesters. Following the squabble, the two factions decided to go separate ways.

“Current scene in Philadelphia where a couple hundred BLM/ANTIFA came to march for Walter Wallace,” Savanah Hernandez tweeted. “Inner fighting between the two groups resulted in the two marches splitting off.”

The dispute led to the destruction of at least one Black Lives Matter flag by a person wearing black bloc. The argument seemed to be based on what direction the protesters should take.

Journalist Elijah Schaffer tweeted a different view of the skirmish.

“PHILLY: black bloc anarchists, black lives matter, & socialists get into a fight over who should lead the protest and where to head,” Schaffer tweeted. “They were actively pushing press back to prevent people from filming.”

The unrest began after two officers shot and killed an armed Black man, Walter Wallace, Jr. Video shot by a witness shows Wallace approaching two police officers around a car and into a street. Officers ordered Wallace repeatedly to drop the knife before firing.

Wallace continued approaching the retreating officers with the knife extended toward the police. Multiple shots rang out and Wallace fell to the ground. A responding police officer loaded Wallace into a vehicle and drove him to the hospital. He later died from his wounds.

Rioters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, targeted a group of religious Jews at protests Tuesday evening against the police shooting of an armed black man, calling them names, shoving them, and chasing them from the scene.

The protests marked the second night of unrest since police shot Walter Wallace, Jr., who had brandished a knife at them.

A video of the confrontation shows several Jewish men, wearing traditional head coverings (yarmulkes or kippot), being confronted by demonstrators.

— Kitty Shackleford (@KittyLists) October 28, 2020
At the start of the video, a voice is heard taunting the men, calling them “Amalek,” a reference to a Biblically cursed nation.

“You live here?” the voice — presumably the person filming the video — asks.

“Not far,” one answers.

Another explains that the are there to show “support” and “solidarity” for the protest.

After some crosstalk, the voice is heard ordering them to leave: “Let’s walk. Walk! … Get the **** out!”

A rioter in a hoodie and a hockey mask then shoves one of the Jewish men.

Another protester intervenes, but the crowd advances, forcing the Jewish men to leave.

The voice behind the camera taunts them with a reference to Revelations 2:9: “Synagogue of Satan!”

The idea that Jews worship Satan is associated with antisemitism — particularly on the extreme right, where it reportedly appears on forums such as Stormfront.

Report: Philadelphia PD ordered officers not to arrest rioters and looters — just disperse them — as city was ransacked

Police are reportedly 'extremely frustrated'

PHIL SHIVER

As looters and rioters ransacked the city of Philadelphia again Tuesday night in response to the deadly police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr., the city police's response was reportedly obstructed by their own deputy commissioner.

WTXF-TV reporter Steve Keeley tweeted Wednesday morning that police officers were "extremely frustrated" after Deputy Police Commissioner Melvin Singleton allegedly ordered both patrol and commanding officers to "not arrest looters just disperse them."

"By the order of CAR-2, Philadelphia Police will respond to 'priority' calls only," the alleged directive from the department obtained by Keeley said. "This means no calls for disturbance, missing person, stolen vehicle, burglary or theft will be answered."

Keeley added that some officers believe the order "leaves no deterrent to stop looting."

It was not immediately clear if and when the order became effective, as police made at least 90 arrests, most for burglary, during Monday's riots. However, Keeley's tweet seems to indicate that the order was given heading into Tuesday night.

Rioters first took to the streets Monday night after video of 27-year-old Wallace's death went viral on social media. In the video, Wallace appeared to be walking toward police as they yell at him and eventually open fire. The officers said that Wallace was carrying a knife and refused to drop it as he approached them.

Philadelphia police reported that on Monday night alone at least 30 officers were injured amid the chaos and lawlessness. Videos on social media showed rioters and looters facing little resistance as they burnt property and ransacked shops.
BlazeTV's Elijah Schaffer recorded Black Lives Matter protesters chanting, "Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground!"

Schaffer was later attacked by a mob while recording looters inside a Philadelphia Five Below store, resulting in a bloody mouth and swollen lip.

Schaffer described the assault in a video posted on Twitter, in which he said he "was jumped by BLM rioters while they were looting more than a dozen stores, including Wal-Matt [sic], T-Mobile, & 5-below."

Police Departments In Major Cities Refuse To Say How They Are Preparing For Potential Protests Surrounding Election Day

Unrest In Portland Continues

Daily Caller News Foundation logo

October 29, 20206:16 PM ET
  • Police departments in major cities have not responded to requests about how they are preparing for potential protests and violence surrounding election day.
  • Multiple cities have experienced extended periods of civil unrest including protests, riots, and extensive looting resulting in property damage and injury reports.
  • Around 1,000 members of the Texas National Guard are gearing up for deployments in five major cities to handle possible election-related unrest.
Multiple police departments did not respond to how they are preparing for potential unrest in the days leading up to and following election day, while others told the Daily Caller News Foundation that they don’t want to share details on preparations.

Police departments in Chicago, New York City; Washington, D.C.; Portland, Philadelphia and Phoenix didn’t respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment on how they are preparing to respond to possible protests and violence surrounding election day.

A spokesman for the Seattle Police Department said that they have preparations in place, though they could not get into the specifics of internal operations.
“Prior to an event of this nature, we don’t get into the specifics of operational planning and preparation,” Seattle Police Department Spokesman Randy Huserik told the DCNF.

“The Department recently launched the Community Response Group, which is also able to dynamically deploy to unplanned large-scale events and ensure SPD is able to quickly respond to 911 emergencies,” Huserik added.

— Brian Kilmeade (@kilmeade) October 26, 2020
The Seattle Police Department has limited time off requests around Nov. 3, so that “the department is able to adequately provide public safety services at any events, gatherings or demonstrations related to the election,” Huserik added.

“We would potentially conduct an after action report following the event, but it isn’t often that those are released outside of the department,” Huserik added. Though he said that the report could only be obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request that would take 6-12 months to process since the department is “currently handling 2,100+ requests.”

Dallas Police Department Sergeant Warren Mitchell said that the department is committed to keeping the community safe. “Therefore, we have plans to have adequate staff leading up to Election Day and the days following November 3,” Warren told the DCNF.

“In conjunction with our local, state, and federal partners, operational plans have been developed that address supporting election site security, maintaining the ability of individuals to access polling locations, and providing a safe environment for individuals desiring to exercise their First Amendment Right to peaceful assembly and freedom of speech,” Mitchell told the DCNF.

“Additionally, the department is taking the steps necessary to maintain the continuity of Patrol operations, such as answering calls for police service and crime prevention,” Mitchell added.

The Texas National Guard plans to deploy around 1,000 troops in at least five cities to manage possible civil unrest surrounding election day, the San Antonio Express-News reported on Oct. 26. Guardsmen could be deployed to Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio as early as this weekend.

Widespread looting overwhelmed police officers in northern Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as protests continued in west Philadelphia on Oct. 27, the Daily Caller reported. Several businesses including a Walmart, Kids Foot Locker, a Five Below, and a Jiffy Lube were destroyed by looters in northern Philadelphia.

Rioters in New York City threw rocks at officers, damaged businesses and drove through a police line, injuring at least one officer, the New York Post reported on Oct. 27. Though NYPD Chief Terence Monahan said the department does not expect protests in the weeks surrounding the election, NYPD officers will be stationed at every polling location in the city, the DCNF reported on Oct. 20.

The National Parks Service has received 10 permit requests for events in Washington, D.C. during the week of the election, one “prayer vigil” has been approved, the DCNF reported on Oct. 25. Some of the permit requests were made by pro and anti-Trump groups, though it is unclear whether the events would overlap because specific dates were not provided with requested locations.

Rioters threw rocks and shined bright lights at law enforcement officials in Portland, Oregon, before throwing an “incendiary device” at a building, the DCNF reported on Oct. 7.

Protesters and Rioters pulled down Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt statues in Portland, Oregon, the Oregonian reported on Oct. 11. Portland Police declared the demonstration a riot shortly after the incidents and arrested multiple individuals, some rioters targeted people filming their actions.

In Chicago, Illinois, rioters and looters vandalized property and destroyed storefronts causing many residents to consider moving from the city over safety concerns, the Chicago Tribune reported on Aug. 26. Looters targeted a Ronald McDonald House where sick children and their families slept, CBS Chicago reported on Aug. 11.

The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., reportedly spent $130,000 on “less-lethal” munitions, WUSA reported. The department refused to comment on the purchases, and would not discuss plans to respond to possible protests.
