Central Indiana Kroger was jammed full of almost everything yesterday! Even toilet paper!
They still have limits on things like cleaning supplies but they even had good sales like chuck roast at 2.99$/ Lb.
I have never waited that long for Chewy but that may be because of my location. I will let you know when I receive it.
They shipped it already so will probably get it tomorrow.

Great company. For those in the Eastern part of the country, Atlantic Spice company is the Eastern branch of SF Herb. You can save on shipping time *and* costs by ordering from the source closest to you.

However, they don't always have the exact same stock, do if you can't find an item at one site, check the other. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but their prices are excellent and product quality has always been great, so that minor idiosyncrasy doesn't bother me.

Thank you, I didn't know about Atlantic.

I wonder if they were affected by the fires any? One of the herbal companies that gets mentioned here regularly, I think it's Rose Mountain Herbs, burnt to the ground in one of those huge fires out west last week.
I don't know but sure hope not, I think its more the China flu thats messed with a lot of their product.

How much did you guys pay for your tattler lids and where did you order them from?
I ordered 2- Trial Pack (3 dzn each size, so 72/pack) for $54.25/pack.

Ordered directly from Tattler, they had free shipping.

ETA That works out to needing to use the tattlers 6 times to equal the same price per metal lid (at least based on prepandemic lid prices in this AO).

Grocery shopping report.
Went to the fancy new Hanna fords in Chittenden County this morning. Other than people are totally weird now, it was good. I don't think I've been more troubled about wearing a mask as I was today. But that's off topic.

This was a quick trip, trying to get errands done.
The store or any grocery store I've been in hasn't been this well stocked in ages it seemed. I got everything I wanted, no substitutes or anything alarming like the blue out of stock tags people have seen.

I wasn't in observation mode but:
Soups, there were a lot, and they were stacked deep on the shelf. I did not look close enough to see brands or what was there. Canned soups was well stocked!
Canned vegetables, again full shelves. I didn't look closely at what was there. Apple sauce, don't know what happened last week but it was well stocked this week.

Meat section was full. Even the vacu-packed upscale store brand Nature's Place hamburger was at the old price, 4.99.
Plenty of chicken, bacon, pork chops, sandwich meats, etc.

Paper towels. Fully stocked. I got a six-pack of the store brand 'premium.' Same as Bounty as far as I can tell. Better price. Bounty was there also, a few pack size choices. Also some brands like Scott.

Hey, all... after seeing some first-hand reports on Facebook of noticeable food price increases, I thought it might be helpful in lieu of the current economic/pandemic conditions to keep a running list of any increases you're witnessing at the stores. Looks like for starters, the good ol' staple of beans and rice are going up significantly. Also, if you see any shortages, please post them here (with photos, if possible).

Some comments below this post:

-Yes! Just noticed the beans at Sams yesterday!
-I don't have a Sam's membership, I go to Costco, but I too have noticed prices going up. Kerrygold butter and organic ground beef both are up $2/each I believe. Other food items too.
Well, everyone should stock up now or risk food shortages and price increases, or no food at all?

I went to the Costco in Lancaster, Pa. a few days ago. There wasn’t a paper towel to be found, but they did have Kirkland toilet paper. Not much of a selection in disposable plates either. Seemed like coffee was on more shelves than usual, like its being used to take up space. There were several things I wanted but couldn’t find, but I don’t remember what. I ended up with chocolate covered raisins.

Did my curbside pickup as usual. They did not have the ham steak I ordered, the store brand tissues, or the multi surface spray cleaner. Before I picked up I went to the store by my house and got the ham steak, Clorox wipes, Lysol multi surface spray cleaner, and 4 boxes of the store brand tissues. It was a quick in and out but paper aisle looked stocked, cleaning aisle hit or miss, and water/ soda aisle estimate 30% empty. The meat department looked stocked but they didn't have a lot of beef- that I did notice. I meant to check the canned foods aisle and forgot- sorry was in a rush.

All in stock for curbside pickup
4 pack green beans (Kroger brand)
paper towels
off brand spray cleaner (sub for Kroger brand)
toilet paper
dish soap (Kroger brand)
eggs
diced tomatoes (Kroger brand)
butter
bacon
waters
Diet Coke (6 pack bottles)
Taylor Farms Salad mix -this is so good and they have different flavors. If you haven't tried it you should. It's hard for me to buy fresh veggies to make a salad because it goes bad too fast

It really sounds like each store is a hit or miss but nothing really popped out at me as OMG I better buy some!

I got an email from Emergency Essentials that they are bringing back their Group Buys (big discounts for a larger number of purchases). I guess they're finally getting caught up and I hope they continue!

Anyhow, in case anyone is in need of additional food storage for their pantry given the GSM, crop issues, and any other reason it's hard to get some food items, here's the link to what I received:

Just a fast report: the groceries and Walmart have removed the aisle arrows from the floors! One of the smaller groceries has even removed the 6' distance stickers and is no longer spraying down checkout belts.

Also, hours have been increasing at grocery stores. For example, the HyVee stores are now open 5 am - midnight, a change from 7 am - 10 pm.

Although many stores still have the face cloth signs, I'm hearing that it's not being enforced. I'm seeing fewer and fewer masks while I'm out. On Thursday, I saw three or four on customers, all elderly.

My sense is that shoppers and businesses have had enough and are moving on.

I had to place an order on Chewy this morning and noticed price increases on the sheba perfect portions my cat likes. Also out of stock on one kind of fish. Checked Walmart and amazon and they also have a price increase on the cases. now over 20 bucks. Just spent 144 without even trying. Pet food is out of sight anymore.

I did an early Aldi trip this morning (N MN), and they aren't policing the front door any longer, or spraying down carts. Back to the same ol' same ol'. Still a sign on the door about the Governor's "mask decree" and the employees were wearing them.

Lovely...had the place more or less to myself on a Monday morning. They were pretty well stocked considering it was right after a busy weekend...this town is right on the way for the hunting/fishing/tourist (leaf season) crowd. They had everything I needed, and being fall, even had my pickled red cabbage and their best-commercial-stuff-ever sauerkraut. Think some prices are going up...notably their specialty cheese and sausage goodies.

6 pack of Diet Coke bottles are on sale at Smith's for buy one get one free. I specifically did a small curbside to get 4. They were out of stock. Also out of stock on the Jennie-O ground turkey. Subbed it for the kind that comes in the tube. Also out of stock on the petite sirloin steaks small pack on sale but I got a large pack for the same price so that was nice.

Funny thing is the Smith's by my house had pallets of Diet Coke. These stores are maybe 3 miles apart. One said their vendor hadn't been in yet. The other pallets and pallets.

There are bottling operations close by here (N MN) and except for the dropping of minor varieties (Diet Cherry, Decaff Diet, etc) Coke and Pepsi products have been well stocked. The two week flyer came out today for the local grocery, and they are confident enough to have Coke and Diet Coke 16oz bottles on special for 4/$11.

Thinking that the bottlers/distributors are taking care of their close local/regional customers first.

Neither here nor there.

We have a Coke bottling plant here in town... right now 4 six-packs of 16.9 oz bottles at HyVee is $8.88

Omaha ne, walmart 180 and center street

went to get pills refilled. had to wait 20 min, so walked around the store,

they were pretty well stocked on stuff that had been short months ago, lots of meat, isle of TP. but what really suprised me was the koolaid type drink mixes, they did have the paper packages that you add sugar to to make a gallon. but the usually have a lot of different brands of boxes with 6 or 8 tubes you pour into a bottle of water , usually it has about a 4 ft wide and full height of shelves of these boxes.

TODAY

not a single one in any flavor, the entire shelf space was empty. I really like these cause only 6 calories. I ike the hawian punch red or blue, anyone hear anything about that?

Just got home from doing a fairly heavy grocery run (about an hour west of OKC). Overall the store (walmart) was well stocked, even the cleaning supplies and paper goods were in present in good quantities. Was able to get everything on my list, so pretty happy about that. Now have to put it away...less happy about that LOL

Just got back from HEB, very well stocked for the most part. But - no thermometers (oral), did see one forehead thermometer in the baby aisle, but that was it.

Trying to hang out with the cool kids.
Went to my local Jewel food store (Albertson's). No shortages, but WOW the prices of canned food!

Delmonte canned potatoes at $1.99. I was able to find some "no name" mixed vegetables for $0.69 a can!
Spam remains at $3.99 per can. (DuPage county IL)

Noteworthy shortages from Friday & Saturday shopping in Central Iowa: fresh Idaho baking potatoes and fresh potatoes in general, dairy products (milk, butter, sour cream), TP (still limit of one pack per customer) and many holes in canned veggies and soups, plus the rice was rather low. [Note: Thursday was the 1st, and I try to avoid shopping then. Today it was pouring rain with few early shoppers.]

Apples, squash, bottled water, bleach, and cleaning products in general were well-stocked. Meat was up about $0.10 $0.17 across the board but no limits.

I was able to get everything I needed, and I had a decent potato harvest, but I was trying to pick up some things for my neighbor and had to go to two stores to fill her order.

I also went to three Walmarts. The aisle arrows and employees counting shoppers -- gone. All public doors open. There was still a sign saying face coverings required, but no one seemed to be enforcing it. Most shoppers didn't have on masks. Most (not all) of the 6' distance signs were gone, just a few up front around the cashiers.

Merchandise-wise, all three stores were a mess! The aisles were filled with pallets, and there was a mix of spring, summer, fall, and winter products. I'm guessing more stuff that was held up in a shipping container finally came in. It was really odd seeing the bathing suits next to winter coats! But -- hey! At least they had that stuff. Shoes (and winter boots) were all in good supply, at least for now.
