Years ago I read about how dangerous LED lights are. In time they damage the eyesight and give early cataracts. They block the bodies melatonin so it's harder to sleep, and they emit a high frequency buzzing sound that we can't hear, but it affects our brain and can induce depression. After reading that I got rid of them yrs ago and stocked up on the incandescent ones. And since my house is so cold I WANT the heat from them.
The bright daylight LED's and fluorescents, in the high K values, produce the blue light which is harmful to the eye retina.
Fluorescents produce the UV light source which is also harmful.
Both the fluorescents and LED's can be found in the lower K values, like around 2700-3000.
The blue light is found in the higher K (Kevin) values.
Some people who spent lots of time on the computer develop very sore eyes from the blue
light. They clip on a BluBlocker lens for fast relief.
Many people find long term use of the bright white LED flashlights irritating to the eyes.
There are some warm light LED flashlights, but not many on the market.
One simple and inexpensive source of light in a SHIT event would be to have on hand,
a 7AH gel rechargeable battery, 2-5 watt DC LED's in the 2700 K value area in the E27 or 26 base,
so it will fit into most of our lamps, along with a 12 volt 20 watt solar panel (Mono is better then Poly)
Some inexpensive alligator clips. The 20 watt 12 volt solar panel makes for a nice marriage at 1.6 amps
charging. An inexpensive multi-meter would be nice to keep an eye on things.
