Here in SE Georgia, evacuation is mandatory for everyone east of I95. In reality that means in Georgia, the 911 people can tell you to kiss off because they told you to get out. Too many people on the water's edge don't leave and then demand help.

As it now stands, St Simons Island is expected to have the causeway underwater later today and will have extensive flooding by tomorrow. This also applies to Jekyll Island, Sea Island, Blythe Island, etc. Lots of marsh property here and all of it is expected to be at least partially under by tomorrow.

I95 North is pretty decent with good flow, but GA 341, GA 82, I26, I15 and any road going west is now bumper to bumper. It is expected to take 8-10 hours to get out of range for anyone leaving. In other words, if you haven't left by now, it is too late!

All of the fast foods, grocery stores, etc, ( except Lowes and Home Depot ) have closed by Noon GA time. Lowes and Home Depot are trying to help everyone get ready with plywood etc. All the stores had food when they closed, but were just about out of the basics. Bread, meat, milk, etc. What was left was veggies and things like that. I was surprised to see that there was still beer around. Normally, it's all gone. Lastly, the Booze stores are still open and are doing a gang buster business.

It appears that people are taking it more seriously than the last time. A neighbor bought a generator, (Tractor Supply sold 200 in less than an hour), but I had to show him how to use it. What loads it could take and how much fuel he needed. He's now filling his spare car, empty cans and getting a syphon so he can empty a car if needed.

That's all for now.

ANYBODY got any FL or south GA webcams that WORK?

I've been trying to pull up some in Savannah---even downloaded their stupid plug-in -- and no cams will still come up.

Concur 100,000,000,000 percent on this being a manipulated hurricane.

It will cause Trump to loose Florida, if the election is indeed even held,
and the Hildebeest will gain the POTUS.

My sister said just the other day, that everyone could vote for Trump,
but that the Hildebeest would still win.

Florida gets destroyed by Hurricanes Matthew and Nicole,
and the entire FUSA gets destroyed later.

Get your armaments NOW!!!

So climate change is mancaused. Who knew?

I'm glad for the post about James MacKanney telling this storm is manipulated. I've heard him tell about other anomalies, and how they were created, including the horrific earthquake in Ecuador!

Here is another expert who insists Matthew is an engineered storm...be sure to check out what he says!
http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/...xample-of-global-weather-warfare-desperation/

As I posted, on another thread, if insurance companies find this out, can they refuse to pay for damages....tho maybe they wouldn't be liable, if storms were considered an act of God.

Also, by now, it seems like the crowds evacuating would have found a place to stay. Surely many of them would have reported via their cell phones, where they were. Earlier, on one of the threads, someone wondered if they'd be going to FEMA camps. Inquiring minds would like to know.

I had to turn the weather channel off because it was pissin me off. Am I concerned? yes. My mom a DS and SIL live on Melborne Bch and have stayed. MY DD and SIL live on the Palm Coast and have stayed, so I am concerned. But we are not Haiti. We do not live in wood huts with tin roofs. The weather channel and all these governors screaming every fifthteen minutes, evacuate or die, just tics me off.

My brother in law and his family decided to stay. I personally think they are foolish, but they have lived there for a long time. They were there during Andrew. I think they will regret their decision.

Prayers for your son's safety. My brother in law, his wife, his son and his wife are in West Palm Beach. I don't know if they have left. I will post when I find out. I also have an X son in law right at the beach in NC. My grandson's Daddy. I don't know if he has evacuated or not.

We just moved here to the area south of Tampa. So far we're only on a tropical storm watch, and they are saying some high winds and bands of rain, throughout tonight and tomorrow. Sure hoping they are right as the house we are currently in does not have hurricane shutters. We have not found a home to buy yet. Hoping all my new neighbors stay safe. Please stay in touch all! :rs:

Worst. Timing. Ever.

The website for the National Hurricane Center went down Thursday night just as Hurricane Matthew began hammering Florida’s east coast.

“Guys the National Hurricane Center servers have crashed WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW,” one Twitter user wrote at around 10 p.m, as the Category 4 behemoth began unleashing Tropical Storm conditions on parts of the Sunshine State.

“You know things are bad when even the National Hurricane Center website is down! Hope everyone does ok tonight.” tweeted Atul Butte.

“WOW! So many people are trying to get information about #HurricaneMatthew that the National Hurricane Center’s web page is down!” Tony Perkins said.

Dave Hogg added, “I hope it is from overload, not a hack.”

The National Hurricane Center has yet to comment on the status of it’s website. It was still down as of 11:30 p.m.

I guess this is a naive question but if this hurricane is engineered, what do tptb gain by destroying places like Haiti before it gets to our shores? Also, even if there has been a mass evacuation in FL, granted it may result in fewer viewers of Sunday's "debate" but what will it have to do with the election?

What am I missing?

Is it back up yet? IF it's server issue I'm don't understand why they don't have a redundant server farm in say Tennessee or someplace like that.

My nephew and his family lives in Conway, SC. They have elected to ride the storm out, however they can go to a nearly Red Cross Shelter, if things get to rough. I tried to talk them into leaving, but they have refused, so what's a person to do. So praying for him and his family!

I found this information online, for anyone else who might be in that same area, who's looking for shelters to go to.

Conway should be ok. Only the rain may bother them with flooding as it is on the Waccamaw river.

I was worried about one of my clients who was housesitting for her sister in law down near W. Palm Beach. Got word from them this morning that they never lost power and only had minor debris in the yard. Sure was glad to hear it and I really think the media way over hyped this thing.

Hurricane Matthew: Parts of Fla. may be uninhabitable for ‘weeks or months,’ weather service says

Posted 4:33 AM, October 7, 2016, by CNN Wire, Updated at 12:52pm, October 7, 2016

*Hurricane Matthew whipped coastal east-central Florida with fierce winds Friday as its powerful center teetered parallel to land, leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Officials warned the state's worst damage could come further north.

The biggest questions remained: Will the entire center cross over land? If so, where?

The outer eyewall of Matthew -- a Category 3 storm with winds of 120 mph at the center -- was brushing the coast north of Daytona Beach as the storm moved north-northwest at 11 a.m. ET.

Portions of the coast already have recorded 100 mph winds near Cape Canaveral, and storm surges of 10 feet still are possible for Jacksonville later Friday, Gov. Rick Scott said.

Special concern surrounded Jacksonville's St. Johns River, which could be overwhelmed by water pushed into it by the storm.

"Just because the center of circulation is offshore doesn't mean you can't be the center of action (along the coast)," National Hurricane Center Director Richard Knabb said Friday morning. "It's going to get a lot worse before it (has) a chance of getting better."

Hurricane Matthew Hugging the Coast near Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia; Life-Threatening Flooding Imminent in Carolinas, Georgia

Published: Oct 7 2016 09:00 PM ED

  • Category 2 Matthew's center is hugging the coasts of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
  • Storm surge flooding has caused devastation along the northeast Florida coast.
  • Hurricane-force wind gusts will impact the coastal Southeast.
  • Heavy rainfall and storm surge will combine to trigger major flooding in coastal Georgia and South Carolina.
  • The magnitude of the flooding in coastal South Carolina could match last October.
  • Matthew will then meander off the Southeast coast or near the Bahamas well into next week.

Hurricane Matthew's eyewall continues to brush parts of Florida's northeast coast and Georgia's southeast coast with high winds and major storm surge flooding and will spread those impacts, in addition to potentially serious rainfall flooding, into Georgia, South Carolina and southern North Carolina through at least Saturday night.
