He just got home. He was told he will get one year in prison, 5 years jail time on weekends and 5 years probation after that. Because he has Asperger's, they are not making him post bail but instead he is being told he will be going to the county health department and be drugged.
He said every single person that was in the photos are being arrested too. The pictures show him in the alcove of the entrance door (pushed in) with his girlfriend. They spun around, looked in one room that was being ransacked and walked out. That was it. They didn't go in any rooms or walk around at all. I have the copies of the pictures. He also said they are trying to take all of these cases to DC and he has to call them tomorrow and maybe every day after that, I can't remember exactly what he said there but if he doesn't do it, they will put him in prison right now. He has to go back for preliminary trial and then more. THIS is what the FED's are doing to us.
May they ALL rot in hell.

I'm thinking out loud here. I'm not anything near a lawyer, just someone who tries to verbalize everything and work it out.
Told him his sentence up front? Early play to make the defendant stew in their own juices-they're going to toss him a deal. Probation most likely IF they're able to even convict.
Sending him to the health dept to get drugged? What? Has he issues or mental capacity issues; was he in special ed classes in school? Don't answer on here-if that is the case they have already run his background and are looking to head off any possible "out" a defense lawyer might take regarding sentencing/motivations/etc.
Did the feds mention any names as to who was in the pictures he's been photo IDed in? Are they offering any of that info? If not get a defense lawyer to find out who the folks are. If they were ransacking a room it's possible the people doing it were connected-a group, group of friends, etc. Find out and call them as witnesses-those folks can add to your son's defense. They can possibly coroborate they got pushed in-if they weren't ransacking this room they peeked into someone just standing there looking would have been noticed.
If he's having to check in daily it's a pre trial type of probation. Keeps tabs on your son, gets him used to being "watched" and makes him more compliant (and therefore more apt to be offered probation than prison time).
They want to do all of them in DC-it happened here and every crime in DC is run through federal courts. Try and keep the venue "out there" where you are (what area/state, anyway?) Out of DC might give him a jury more sympathetic than a DC trial, where everyone works for Comrade/Uncle Sam it seems. Beholden to the Yankee govt......
Laying out everything to him up front sounds like a ploy. Scare them with all the minutia; "it's easier to just plead guilty than take this mess to trial-plead guilty and we'll gve you probation". That's what it's sounding like to me. Betting the .gov case is weak at best.
And having to go back for a preliminary hearing says even more that the case is weak or more likely fabricated. Beware.
DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE. Do not say any more than is necessary. And ask questions. LOTS of questions. They're .gov; so you may not get straight answers. But don't give the .gov the impression you're blindly accepting what is going on.
And finally. Don't ever EVER EVER trust the yankee government. On any level. They are not your friends. They are not there to "help" you. They sure as hell ain't there to "help" your son. And they will twist anything they tell you or son to any way that helps their case or conviction.
As I said, I'm not a lawyer. I look at cars for a living. But living here in the swamp I have a pretty good idea how they operate. And anyone on TB2K who does have legal knowledge, PLEASE chime in. A member of our family is in trouble.
