Could you do the same for voyager and enterprise
I simply couldn't get my mind past the thought that basically Voyager was simply "Gilligan's Island" set in space.Next is VOY (Voyager) with Kate Mulgrew as Captain Janeway. During first run, I watch two eps and refused to watch it again. It was painfully bad IMO. First, Mulgrew’s voice sounded like someone who’d smoked for 40 years. I actually couldn’t stand to hear her speak. Then there’s Tuvoc, a BLACK Vulcan (spare me.) Then Nelix the Talaxian, who was a manipulator and liar in the beginning. And the outrageously annoying doctor! I hated his arrogant ass with a purple passion. The list goes on. Anyway, one time YEARS later, I had nothing to do one weekend, so I started binge watching it. Shockingly, I found myself enjoying it, and eventually really liked it. I even got past Mulgrew’s voice. Voyager became my favorite franchise.
Compared to other sci-fi productions of that era, the TOS was well done and quite innovative. It's sad it only lasted three seasons. Considering its popularity since the original run, I think cancelling that series was a huge mistake. It could have been another Gunsmoke, which was so popular it got 20 seasons.

No. That would only be true if they were on a floating island lost in an uncharted ocean, beset with attacks from both pirates and deadly creaturesI simply couldn't get my mind past the thought that basically Voyager was simply "Gilligan's Island" set in space.

TOS was canceled after season two. More accurately, the cast and crew got the notice toward the end of filming for season two. When the tens-of-thousands of letters came flooding into Paramount, they rethought their plans and reversed them - ON THE CONDITION that the filming budget be reined-in considerably. This was agreed to, and a third season was filmed, with significant cuts to sets and FX.You make a great point. TOS made so much money in syndication that Roddenberry and Company had to have had some second thoughts about ending it.
I know they had some turmoil going on back then. Maybe some of our trekkies can speak to that. I think if we compare the episodes of all 3 seasons, the 3rd and final season are the weakest. Seems like the writers were losing some momentum.
READ THE DAMN OPTOS? Terms of service? I can hear Sheldon screaming now.
BTW there is a different animation it's called "Prodigy".
Aaaa found a poster of the "new" people. It's the old people who are just old people now.

Ugh!Because you totally want all your captains to start acting like Kathryn Janeway.
