We just got back from our grocery shopping in Small town. Restocked the pantry, after 2 weeks, and also added several items that were on sale to bump up my stock (salad dressing, BBQ sauce, salsa, etc). I also bought extra pork this time, because it was still so cheap. Ground beef had gone to $5/lb, so I didn't buy but 3 lbs this time. Tyson's boneless chicken breasts were still the same price as last time, so I bought another bag of those to add to the freezer. I added more canned chili to my stock while it was on sale. Canned veggies weren't on sale, but I bought 20 cans of different veggies to add, too. I wanted to add more boxes of Velveet Skillet Meals (I keep these on hand for emergency meals), since they were on sale, but they didn't have any of the kind we like left.
Went to TSC to buy dog and cat food, and treats, but they didn't have my dog's favorite treats. We broke our boycott, and went to Walmart to get those, and a few more items that were cheaper there than the grocery store.
I think tomorrow we'll be going back to Sam's (We had begun to boycott them) to buy more bulk items for the pantry. Also, I need more Calcium and Vit D capsules that I take daily. Better price by buying them in bulk. More cases of bottled water and green tea, more cases of baked beans and pintos, coffee, spaghetti noodles, and if they have them in colors to match my bathroom, 2 bath towels and 4 bath cloths to add to my supply. I love their quality. More items on my list that I can't remember right now.
We plan to also go to the bookstore to buy more books for our library. We read more than we watch tv now days. We have a membership card, so we get a discount on all the books.
Cary wants to shop for more work pants, so we'll be doing that, too, while we're in Big town.
