This post isn't about you and your situation. I'm going to ask for forgiveness for using it as an example. Please bear with me.
Well, I guess they need to break into the bus barns at the school systems.
State of Emergency has been enacted and they have called for a mandatory evac. There are plans that are in place in these situations. They better start working the plan.
I mean the plan was costly and had to be submitted and approved. The money has been spent. Why aren't y'all getting what you paid for?
State of Emergency...where is the NG and FEMA peeps that should be rolling into town to help work the plan?
Should be gas to get out of town if your town calls for evac.
I'm not saying this to be a bitch. I'm pointing this out because all those MF'ers who made "the plan" the tax payers paid for can't get gas to a city they just called a mandatory evac on!

I just wanted to point out that "the plan", the "people", all of the "support structures"......its all an amazing amount of NOTHING.
And we paid for it...lock, stock, and barrel. We will be paying for it forever.

I ment it for gas, but you're absolutely right.
Because of Katrina, there were supposed "plans" put in place for severe weather. These "plans" are supposed to "help" so that we don't have another Katrina.
I know this because I used to get updates on "the plans" as I used to be part of FEMA. It's what I used to do.

So we have a cold front blowing down from Canada right now, Wed evening it's gonna be real chilly here in central Iowa. What type of an affect/effect does this system have, or will have, on Hurricane Ian?

That is a major factor in the ridging causing this storm to either stall out near the coast or stear northeast.
My bet is still on a stall near tampa and landfall near Horseshoe beach.

At the age of 22 I realized that between family issues and the economy /cost of living in Florida that I would never get anywhere there. I packed up my baby and started over. Best decision I ever made for myself. Now I only go back for funerals. There is only 1 possible family funeral left and he is younger than me.

Is Steve Jerve still a weatherman in Tampa? When I was down in Tampa at my fiancée's house waiting for hurricane Charlie to come ashore, we turned on the TV and there was Steve. He's from Minnesota, and was the best friend of one of my college roommates.
He was the first one to make the call that Charlie was turning early and missing Tampa.

It is insanity. Too many northern boobie birds have moved into the state and don't know how to do hurricanes. One daughter's job is shut down because they follow the schools and they are all closed this week. The banks are closed. Gas stations out of gas already. Older son is Emergency Team A and they are going to lock down the hospital starting at 7 pm tomorrow and we probably won't see or hear from him until Friday. Younger son has to work tomorrow ... at a car wash. [nuclear eye roll]. Tomorrow I and doing some early Fall Cleaning if I don't have to field hysterical tenants.
People are losing their minds. It is ridiculous.

I don't get to leave... It's a cluster here. We weren't at all prepared for Irma and they are even less prepared for this one. All they have is what's on hand. Gonna be a mess. The only good thing is that they no longer allow the building to be used as a shelter for employees ( and their families and pets ). It took two months to get the smell of dog and cat excrement out of the buildings after Irma. I just hope there are buildings left after this one. Did I mention we are directly across the street from Tampa Bay? Look on a map that shows Tampa and St. Pete, then look for Gandy Blvd. Once Gandy Blvd hits land on the St. Pete side, we are right there... Literally.
