TxGal, thanks for posting. I'll keep checking and pointing out anything interesting, since I probably have a lot more free time than you do.
It's raining today, but I'm cutting up a board in the greenhouse where it's not too terribly cold when I'm doing something active. Using a little hand saw takes a long time, but it doesn't throw up any dust, which could be almost deadly for me, plus I can pace myself and not wreck my shoulder or back. When I'm done I'll have six each 16" c 4' pieces of chipboard that I can use for shelves or platforms. I'm going to have to buy plywood for finishing the chicken house after all and I'll have to get untreated so the store will cut it in half for me. Not sure if I'll paint it or soak it in old oil to keep it from weathering or getting eaten by termites. Perhaps paint on the half that goes inside the chicken house and oil on the half that goes outside.
I'm still trying to get at least one important thing done every day, since IAF's last two podcasts. And I hope to finish up shopping this weekend to keep me for a very long time. I don't think this new coronavirus will be seasonal like our annual flu always is. If it goes big, provided the recent news isn't just more sensationalizing, I'm guessing it could run for two or three years. I could deal with that if it happened this afternoon, but I'd like it better if I could do one or two big shopping runs before I put myself into total quarantine.
Aldi 1 pound roll of regular sausage went from $1.89 to $2.75 today. Double wow. Especially since fresh pork has been on sale. Thanks, Martinhouse! I owe you a pm which will explain much, I think :-) We're okay here, just having a lot of appts back to back, and in between livestock work, land work, etc. Time has not been our own of late. I'm doing pretty good just trying to keep up with the reading, let alone posting. I think after next week we'll settle in better :-)
You are getting so much done, I'm envious! We're getting that rain, too, and it's in the low 40s here today with a chilly wind and constant rain. I don't want to complain about rain because we're in a drought.
We have seed potatoes coming in this week, and I'll probably pick up more from the feed store. I need to order a few more fruit trees, but Stark Bros, which we've been ordering from for over 30 years, has a lot of regular varieties that are not available....not sold out, simply not available. Must be the weather effects, I'd guess.
I'm noticing price increases at the grocery store. Looks like good old regular Campbell's chicken noodle soup may be going from it's usual $1.00/can to $1.50...what the heck! It's a good back up when homemade isn't available....cantaloupes, when available, have been small, barely ripe or overripe, and $2.99 each. Wow.

Amazon's prime pantry has Campbell chicken noodle and tomato soup for .88c a can. Thanks, Martinhouse! Remember, elderberry does work (reportedly) on coronaviruses. We routinely take a dose before leaving for town, especially if we are going near medical offices or the hospital. Then we take another when we get home. On top of hand washing, etc...
I hesitate to post this stuff, because yes, I do have it for sale. But that's not why I'm posting.. you can get Sambucol at Wal-Mart (but if this spreads, it's likely to be in short supply quickly) and other places. Just get some to have on hand! Because it only works if you take it "early and often"... it prevents virii from reproducing, it doesn't kill what is already in your system. So, if you wait to try to find sone until after you're feeling symptoms, you're already playing catch up.

TxGal, if I was in your shoes, I think I'd be feeling almost terrified right now. Especially if there were still all sorts of vital medical appointments to keep.
Seeing that Amazon is quickly running out of a lot of things is pretty scary in itself.
Hope you're still able to post but do what you have to...just be super careful down there!
Yikes! Please do keep us up to date!
Looks like I need to stop postponing my shopping trips for silly things like not falling asleep until 4 AM. Heck, at 4 AM I can go to Walmart and just take my time and still be at the other store I need when it opens at 7 AM.
