I give up.
As far I'm concerned Portland is in a state of insurrection and these rioters should be charged as enemy combatants working to overthrow the government....and never see the light of day again.

OK then. State of insurrection vs states rights.

Well, if it was just OR, I would say just wall them off, but seeing as it's happening a lot of places, I guess keeping the country together is more right than just states rights.

CW II.

Oregon State Police are leaving Portland to go protect people in counties "where prosecution of criminal conduct is still a priority". Good on them! The courts are letting everyone they arrest go free, so see ya later!

Also, regarding the courthouse, do we know if the feds are really gone?

My cousin and her husband live in Redmond, OR (last I knew anyway) and had a couple of businesses in Bend (as of a few years ago, not sure if he still has his there or not). I believe at least one of their daughters and some of their grands live in Redmond also.

I had thought they were far enough away to not have major problems, don't believe that will be true now, sigh.

@doranimated is a squared away Center-Right guy I used to follow. He's basically on our side, and not a member of the Blue-Check Pearl Clutcher Brigade.

Utter chaos mzkitty! I know in my life things will never be the same again. So very disturbing. Our society is so broken right now. Not sure how or if or when things may ever be somewhat "normal" again, not sure what the "new normal" may eventually be. Reading and hearing about what is going on in so many cities across our country is utterly disturbing. I do not know where all those fleeing the bigger cities plan to go to, I think this mayhem is going to reach out into every little nook and cranny just about everywhere sooner than later.

I hope you're not right, Fairywell, but you probably are. Here I sit in my little secluded gated community and in my neighborhood you'd never know anything was wrong elsewhere unless you know where to read, which most of us do here (I hope). I'm not sure what to do myself. I don't think St. Pete will go crazy, but then again who knows? We need to get a bigger cheaper apt but there are waiting lists for the best Senior ones. Sigh........... well, we'll see where this all goes, won't we? I do hope you and yours are OK.

Yep, should be interesting this weekend. Up to 100 degrees, and red flag warnings to add to the festivities. I just hope that Antifa hasn't been watching the video Pinkelsteinsmom posted (post 1001). It's dangerously dry this year.

This crap has got to be stopped now.

"Super hot?" Puhleeeeaaaase!

105-107 for the next 4 days in the Austin area, then "down" to 101-102 for the next week or two after that.
People in Western Oregon are weather wimps, Dennis. You know that. We rarely have really inclement weather. Little snow, rarely have ice, rare to have days over 100, they really have no idea what a real downpour looks like. Weather wimps! LOL

The same goes for some of us in WA. Me personally, over 70 degrees and I am useless and limp. I keep my house on average at 64 degrees year-round. It is my genetics plus growing up in Pac. NW. I love a downpour of rain, motivating.
