Not directed at you, Dozdoats. :)

We've been hearing about this since last Friday from various online sites.
First he was getting fired Friday.
Then he had resigned.
And I guess he's fired again? Come on, man.

I think this is really something more serious. I think Trump has learned that the coup goes deeper than election rigging and he's trying to at least soften the ability of the military brass to carry it out. I'm not sure how effective this will be but I'm all for him fighting it to the best of his ability. I hope all of this gets exposed and we get to learn just why he had to fire this guy, but my guess is that he was going to help in removing the president. (just my gut feeling on this)

Trump Fires Secretary of Defense Mark Esper

President Donald Trump has fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper after reports surfaced that the political appointee was covertly assisting Joe Biden’s transition team, despite votes still being counted and litigation underway in virtually every battleground state.

In his typical fashion, President Trump announced Esper’s departure as he heralded his replacement, Christopher C. Miller. “I am pleased to announce that Christopher C. Miller, the highly respected Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (unanimously confirmed by the Senate), will be the Acting Secretary of Defense, effective immediately.”
President Trump then added, “Mark Esper has been terminated. I would like to thank him for his service,” while also noting that he believes Miller “will do a GREAT job!”

Late last week reports surfaced in Politico and other established political publications that Esper was considering tendering his resignation before January 21, 2021.

Rumors also surfaced that Esper was working with the Biden transition team, despite the Trump campaign and administration remaining firm in their insistence that the election is far from over and will be decided in the president’s favor after a series of recounts and court cases establish the severity of fraud in the elections.
“Hearing rumors around Pentagon that [Mark Esper] and @DepSecDef may not survive the day,” wrote Gavin Wax. “Without any authorization, they have been assisting the Biden translation [sic] team even as votes are still being counted.”

It is unclear what provoked Esper’s termination at the president’s hands, however, CNN is now admitting that the election has only been called by the U.S. media and not official sources, which would likely have created additional pressure for Esper to resign or be fired within the administration.

How about the general(s) saying they won't enforce the Insurrection Act?
Apparently, this was the reason. Trump wanted to invoke the Insurrection Act during trouble on the streets and the Sec Def said he would not command his troops to American streets. What happens if a president invokes the IA prior to Jan 20th? I really don't know.

Either way invoking the IA is not going to go over well with about 1/2 the country, especially if they don't believe the fraud.

Indeed. general feeling with the people I live with is that the courts will fix everything and there's nothing to worry about and they think I'm over-reacting. My feeling is the fuze has been lit on the whole powderkeg and there's no way to put it out.

The military will follow all legal orders consistent with Nurenberg and War crimes statutes. I had a class in basic training about the use of lethal force on unarmed peaceful protesters. Fortunately, given the fact antifa and blm are domestic terrorists that isn't an issue here.

I see a bad moon arisin' Think about what would happen if the election was overturned and handed to Trump. All them partiers from the other day would be back with pitchforks. Is Trump setting up for this? Funny thing, stores in Chicago are still putting up boards even though the election is over.
