Wow, it’s heading to #Donetsk I guess. Extremely rare to see a RC-135W or frankly any manned U.S. ISR asset over Ukraine after 2014 (usually these missions are done by RQ-4s). And it being so near to the Russian border, probably being escorted by PSU fighters.

i agree. the most likely scenario is a seizure of the water canal to Crimea, and the east coast of the Dnieper to secure the passageway. which is all he can get away with without incurring terrific international opprobrium. water for the people, after all.

no one i have met here, even in the east of the country , wants to be apart of russia again. very strongly expressed by virtually everyone.

Amigo, Putin is going all the way to the east bank of the dniepper? and the Kiev airport. Nobody will lift a finger NATO, EU and especially our oatmeal for brains biden. They might send in some military toys but just for the press releases.

Seriously, everything EAST of the dniepper river, and on the southern coast all the way to damn near romanis is vlad ths impalers now.

I'm not sure where you live, but any ukies east of the dniepper and coastal west to romania need to head west into western Ukraine pronto.

Like I said, the Russian invasion of Afghanistan happened on Christmas Day 1979 I think.
Russia is certainly capable of both speed and stealth involving 100,000 plus troops and vehicles.
Putin will move. I'm just not sure whether it will be a limited one to secure water supplies and the donesk and luthsk? areas.
He just gave the ethnic Russians citizenship. Game on.

He will take the eastern half by force; but poopy pants and cameltoe will claim that they made a deal with Putin that gives that part to Russia in exchange for something.

Correct, the original ethnic Russians in donesk were given official Russian citizenship and membership in Putin's political party. Press conference with the "head" of the people fighting the ukies since 2014. Might have included the Crimea too.
So, Putin is ptetty much done except for the canal, the coastal city and the chunk of eastern ukraine with lukansk? In it

I remember we got a brand new M-60 added to B company spring of 1974. Thought it was A-3 but could hsve been wrong. I had a M-113 APC configured as a field ambulance. :kaid:

Interesting. T-64's rather than T 62s or T-72s. As of 2013 all of them were rumored to be scrapped. Yet Russia is still able to send them to the Syrians.
IF the Russians have deployed these particular tanks then it's like sending in the junior varsity in terms of armor. The ones left, if they are indeed T64s have been pulled out of storage for this soiree. Their equivalent of National Guard armor units use these. Perhaps they are saving the T-72's and T-90s for a wider European armor conflict?

These tanks can depress their (smoothbore) main guns only about 2* hull down. Tactical disadvantage there. Ukranians have their T-72s so it would be relatively even matched. And the Ukranians had a T-72 plant in country, so did the Polish (Polish T-72s were made for in country and export usage-the controls in these models are labeled in English). The 64 was considered a stopgap design between the T62 and T72; they were used in the first Crimean war.
One way to take them out is hit the rear or hit the road wheels.

1) PLEASE remember the calibre and "Quality" of the initial shock troops the Rus used in Georgia. Uniformed criminals echos in my head from that adventure.
2) Also remember that when Vlad "stepped back" in the spring last spring what he took OUT of the AO was all PEOPLE! He left a HUGE contingent of armor (stored out of sight - out of mind) but a lot of required materiel for the coming action. He left the tanks etc along with EVERYTHING they would need for the first few days of the conflict. we have discussions of this in our threads.

Oh plzzzz just stop with all the tough talk you spineless NATO frauds. I knew what NATO was back in 1974, which was a joke. Now some of the polish and ukie main line combat units will smack the ruskies before being squashed like bugs.

But the baltic states? Finland Germany? :prfl: Last I checked Germany was a joke. No training. No discipline. No equipment. No leadership. This ain't the 1944 Wehrmacht or Waffen SS we are talking about here.

Face it they are all caving cuz putin called their bluff and biden, obama, and the rest of them chickened out when they looked down putin's tank barrel.:hof:
