I thought you were joking, Doc...

A shotty with a bayonet???

But, I always try to verify...

I had no idea that was a thing...

The Mossberg 590 is equipped with a bayonet lug and will accept two different types of US .mil bayonets. When so equipped, it is sometimes used for crowd control and riot suppression. The current crop of politically-correct American police administrators is usually not too keen to deploy these weapons, as they consider them to present "poor optics."

Nonetheless, they are effective combat/riot weapons. When used in crowd and riot control, the idea is not so much to stab anyone - though that is on the table - but to dissuade perpetrators from approaching the pointy end! Some sophisticated agitators realize that police are not likely to shoot them in less than lethal force scenarios and may push up against police armed with regular shotguns or AR platforms. They seem to instinctively understand that a cop or soldier with a bayonet-equipped long gun is much more likely to to give them a (painful) prod than pull the trigger.

MN Gov. Walz: I Underestimated ‘Wanton Destruction’ and Crowd Size
Ian Hanchett

During a press conference on Saturday, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) stated that despite the “largest civilian deployment” in the history of the state, law enforcement lacks the numbers to respond to rioting in the state, and that “We cannot arrest people when we’re trying to hold ground.” He also took responsibility “for underestimating the wanton destruction and the size of this crowd.”

Walz said, “This is the largest civilian deployment in Minnesota history that we have out there today. And quite candidly, right now, we do not have the numbers. We cannot arrest people when we’re trying to hold ground. Because of the sheer size, the dynamics, and the wanton violence that’s coming out there.”

He added, “I will take responsibility for underestimating the wanton destruction and the size of this crowd. We have deployed a force, that, I think, as we sat down together and talked about, would have, in any other civilian police operation, worked. But the terrifying thing is to hear people who have seen this, and myself looking at this, it resembles more of a military operation at times now, as, especially, ringleaders moving from place to place.”

Minneapolis Protesters Defy Curfew, Clash with National Guard
Haris Alic

Protesters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, are defying a city-wide curfew and in some instances clashing with the state’s national guard as the public backlash to the death of George Floyd enters its third night.

As of 9:00 p.m. central standard time (CST), hundreds of protesters were on the streets of Minneapolis, despite a mandatory 8:00 p.m. curfew imposed by both the city’s mayor and Minnesota’s governor.

"There is no police presence whatsoever at this time."

Although some of the protesters appeared to be peaceful, opting to walk through the streets chanting Floyd’s name along with slogans such as “No Justice, No Peace,” a number were also observed hurling rocks at national guard units and setting fires.

Tensions rise in Minneapolis as some protesters hurl rocks at authorities and authorities respond with tear gas canisters and flash bangs.@sarasidnerCNN reports from the ground. https://t.co/PEI4AldDix pic.twitter.com/uXf84dSd0S

— Anderson Cooper 360° (@AC360) May 30, 2020

In some portions of the city, most notably the area in which Floyd died, protesters openly clashed with the national guard as the curfew took effect. The guards responded by “shooting what seemed to be rubber bullets” and throwing canisters of tear gas into the crowd, according to the Washington Post.

The protests continue even as the officer at the center of the controversy surrounding Floyd’s death was arrested on Friday and charged with murder. Derek Chauvin, a 19-year veteran of the Minneapolis police department, was fired earlier this week after a video went viral showing him kneeling on Floyd’s neck while attempting to arrest the man for alleged forgery.

In the video, Floyd is heard pleading for help, claiming he cannot breathe, as Chauvin stands over him. Tou Thao, Chauvin’s partner, who also has a record of police brutality complaints, is seen in the video refusing to intervene.

One of the reasons Roman Emperor's gave the MOB Bread and Circus' was to prevent this, for one thing.

The second was to prevent them from coming after them.

In contrast: The democratic leadership is giving the mob room to riot and loot (bread and circus) so they don't come after them, for the terrible job they are doing.

Top 5 Revolutions Backed By George Soros

Posted By Lisa Graas On February 6, 2011 @ 9:26 am In Email,Feature,News | 1 Comment

Multi-billionaire George Soros has been using his vast wealth at least since 1984 to “build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable to their citizens”, in his words. He has been “credited” or, more accurately, blamed for providing funding for several revolutions in which his preferred people took power. If you are a leftist, of course you might consider this to be a good thing as the groups Soros funds to do his dirty work are invariably leftist, including an enormous chunk of the radical Left here in America. Here are the top 5 revolutions, some ongoing, which have received substantial backing from George Soros...

The Washington Times - Wednesday, January 14, 2015

There’s a solitary man at the financial center of the Ferguson protest movement. No, it’s not victim Michael Brown or Officer Darren Wilson. It’s not even the Rev. Al Sharpton, despite his ubiquitous campaign on TV and the streets.

Rather, it’s liberal billionaire George Soros, who has built a business empire that dominates across the ocean in Europe while forging a political machine powered by nonprofit foundations that impacts American politics and policy, not unlike what he did with MoveOn.org.

Mr. Soros spurred the Ferguson protest movement through years of funding and mobilizing groups across the U.S., according to interviews with key players and financial records reviewed by The Washington Times.

In all, Mr. Soros gave at least $33 million in one year to support already-established groups that emboldened the grass-roots, on-the-ground activists in Ferguson, according to the most recent tax filings of his nonprofit Open Society Foundations.

The financial tether from Mr. Soros to the activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause celebre...

Soros Backing Black Lives Matters Revolutionaries
BLM leader lives in home owned by George Soros’ Open Society board member

By Ryan Girdusky

#BlackLivesMatter leader DeRay Mckesson may claim to be leading a grassroots revolution for racial and economic justice, but he has close connections with the privileged and elite.

Mckesson lives in a home owned by philanthropists James and Robin Wood in Baltimore, Maryland.

It’s the same address he used when declaring his residency on his campaign committee registration form for his failed mayoral run in the city’s Democratic primary earlier this year.

The Woods have owned the home since 1996 and are wealthy donors to the Baltimore chapter of George Soros’ Open Society Institute.

Robin is so active that she was made a board member of the far-left non-profit back in 2008, according to the OSI’s website.

According to Politico, the Soros backed group The Democracy Alliance donated to several race-based movement organizations that ally with the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

Internal documents from Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment, a group organizing the protests in Ferguson after the death of Michael Brown, showed activists being paid.

Clinton And Soros Are Behind Violent Riots At Trump Rallies, Not Sanders

soros_clinton.jpg

ROGER STONE
THE DAILY CALLER'S MEN'S FASHION EDITOR
March 21, 2016
9:48 AM ET

The Establishment on both the left and the right, who want to disenfranchise the millions of Republican voters who support Donald Trump, have blamed the staged riots near Trump rallies on Trump or on Bernie Sanders. That’s like blaming the Russians for the Reichstag Fire. Bernie has little to do with these manufactured protests. This is a Clinton operation, a faux protest.

False flag operations have long been common in politics, but these riots are poisonous to the electorate, intentionally designed to turn violent and stifle free speech.

This free speech-busting goon squad operation is directed by supporters of Hillary Clinton. It is paid for mostly by George Soros and MoveOn.org and pushed by David Brock at Media Matters for America. It’s also funded by reclusive billionaire Jonathan Lewis, who was identified by the Miami New Times as a “mystery man.” He inherited roughly a billion dollars from his father Peter Lewis (founder of Progressive Insurance Company).

A march and demonstration against Trump at Trump Tower essentially fizzled Saturday when only 500 “protesters” of the promised 5000 showed up. Infiltrating the crowd, I learned most were from MoveOn or the Occupy movement. Soap was definitely in short supply in this crowd. Several admitted answering a Craig’s list ad paying $16.00 an hour for protesters.

Hillary understands that Trump would lose the votes of certain establishment Republicans if he were the nominee. On the other hand, it doesn’t matter, because of his crossover outreach. In Michigan, Democrats and independents who have lost their jobs because of disastrous globalist trade deals like NAFTA are lining up to vote for Donald.

The Clinton camp figured out that Bernie’s economic voters — not the hard-left voters who will stick with her, but blue-collar folks who have just figured out that they have been left out of the new-world-order economy, are already voting for Trump and Hillary is petrified.

Hillary supports TPP and helped sell us NAFTA. She killed American jobs. It’s her Achilles heel.

Trump is the only candidate who is a populist nationalist, not a globalist like the Clintons and Bushes (and Cruz). This explains both his appeal and the fear the establishment in both parties have of him. Lots of hardworking, blue-collar people across America have lost their jobs since the 1990’s, victims of the globalist policies of the Bushes and Clintons. Those voters, regardless of party affiliation or race, are fed up and gearing up in massive numbers to support Trump.

This is why David Brock’s dirty trick solves two problems at once: it helps discredit Bernie because it appears that his followers are violent; and it also disqualifies Trump for a future vote, by portraying him as a racist or a bigot. The whole thing is a kabuki dance. Blaming Sanders for these riots is like blaming the Communists for the Reichstag fire.

Trump needs to understand that the Clintonistas are doing it — and why. Sanders’ socialism is dangerously wrong, but he is generally forthright, not having the decades of experience in political deceit of the Clinton gang.

Sanders has nothing to gain by sending his Millennial hipster followers to a Trump rally and for the most part, they wouldn’t tear themselves away from their parents’ basements or trendy wine bars. Some Sanders followers will show up, but it’s mostly professional agitators in a well-organized web of ringers. The Chicago Machine of Rahm Emmanuel (a Clinton supporter) generated bodies as well. Ironic because Rahm’s brother Ari is Trump’s agent in the reality TV business.

While historically corrupt Chicago was a prime location to start, these phony demonstrators will show up at other Trump events around the country. Massive civil disobedience is already being planned on the East Coast in April. More mainstream media should report the truth behind them and call them what they are: the Clinton/Soros Riots of 2016.

Soros: ‘I Will Take Down President Trump'

February 09, 2017

A battle cry has been issued against our new president by arguably the world’s most evil villain: billionaire financier George Soros. At a recent meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Soros told a crowd of wealthy politicians and corporate heads that he plans to “take down President Trump” in order to usher in a “financial armageddon” that fits his plans for a New World Order.

One of the big backers of failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Soros has been on a mission to destroy Trump since long before he was elected president. But after losing nearly $1 billion in the stock market, which made a big rally after Trump’s victory, Soros is more determined than ever to stop the agenda of President Trump, which in large part involves rolling back globalism and bringing jobs back to the United States.

Leaked IRS Tax Returns: George Soros Wired $1.7M To Antifa

October 5, 2017 Sean Adl-Tabatabai

Leaked IRS tax returns shows that billionaire globalist George Soros sent over $1.7 million to Antifa – the domestic terrorist organziation some say are responsible for the recent Las Vegas attack.

According to unredacted tax forms obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, Soros sent the money to an antifa-linked foundation known as The Center for Community Change Action – a Washington DC based non-profit.

Offendedamerica.com reports: For the first time, the sources of money for Antifa have been revealed to the public. Previous claims of Soros funding to Antifa were dismissed as conjecture.

So far, these are the major “resistance” funders that have been revealed:
  • George Soros (The Open Society Foundation): $1,750,000
  • W.K. Kellogg Foundation: $3,000,000
  • California Endowment: $524,000
  • Ford Foundation: $2,350,000
  • Hillary Clinton (Onward Together): $800,000
From Washington Free Beacon:...

------------------------------------------

All Part of their Revolutionary Plan...
Soros: "His problem is that the elections are still 10 months away, and in a [revolutionary situation], that's a lifetime" - January 2020 ...then we had the virus and now obviously organized riots.

Either you are a master at dry sarcasm, or we ain't talking about the same mayor and governor.

I like your approach WalknTrot.

I'm fairly good with dry Sarcasm, but that' not what I had in mind here. :)

A little context... I've never seen or heard of the governor or mayor of MN. I was just browsing the cable news channels this morning and came across the news conference. So, I'm coming into this with very little background or bias.

We'll hear snippets of his news conference throughout the day so that may help explain some of my comments . (I'll probably be hearing them on OAN). Here's what I liked about what he had to say:
  1. He's holding a peaceful protest this afternoon where he's encouraging all non-violent protesters to attend. He said that the non-violent approach was the first step in getting past the actions of the police officers (I believe what he said is that the peaceful protest was the first step in the healing process). So, if you're out protesting in a non-violent manner before 7:00 p.m. You're part of the solution.
  2. He said that people that don't abide by the curfew tonight and are gathering near the malignant protestors are enabling them by providing cover for the a$$hats to hide behind after committing acts of violence and destruction. My take on that was that If you're out protesting after the Curfew, you're part of the problem.
  3. He's mobilized 2,500 national guardsmen, so he seems to be taking action.
  4. He was clear that he expects the guardsmen to use, in his words, "overwhelming force" to maintain law and order this evening.
  5. He mentioned that the expectation is that the city will 'decimate' the violence.
  6. Law enforcement is doing the equivalent of 'Contact Tracing' (kind of scary) on the protesters that are getting arrested or any protester that is identified by a witness, and will start exposing that information later this afternoon. He thought that perhaps 20% of the protesters were local (I'm sure the real number is higher) and that they want to find out who is behind organizing/importing 'Rent a Thugs' (not his words) into the city.

With me getting into the Minnesota Governor game during the 7th inning, I just thought that that it was refreshing to hear that there was a plan in place for dealing with the all of the derelicts causing trouble. I can appreciate that others that HAVE had to deal with the governor and mayor's fallout over the years are going to have a different perspective.

"I'll bet that with the push to identify the underlying organizers of the protests, that we'll see an arrest of George Soro's."

*Now, that there probably qualifies as dry sarcasm. :)

Getting an early start to the day's festivities. Well, some guy earlier, last night I think, posted that the end of May is going to be bad, but that June through December are going to be worse. I dunno, do these punks have that much energy to devote to a lost cause? Will Soros' money hold out that long? After a few more of them die in the street, will it make a difference? Will they be home for Christmas?

I've been researching this stuff on the take down of Floyd and came across information that states that he started saying "I can't breath" while he was still standing up and then collapses and continues that complain. It doesn't take away from the fact of what was done to him while on the ground but is it possible with his health and whatever was in his system during the stress of being arrested he was starting to have a heart attack before he was on the ground and couldn't breath then?.............has anyone else come across that?
In the probable cause filed against Chauvin. Note that the people with Floyd were "known" (probably not in a good way)

BWC video obtained by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension shows that the officers approached the car, Lane on the driver’s side and Kueng on the passenger side. Three people were in the car; George Floyd was in the driver’s seat, a known adult male was in the passenger seat and a known adult female was sitting in the backseat.

As Officer Lane began speaking with Mr. Floyd, he pulled his gun out and pointed it at Mr. Floyd’s open window and directed Mr. Floyd to show his hands. When Mr. Floyd put his hands in the steering wheel, Lane put his gun back in its holster. While Officer Kueng was speaking with the front seat passenger, Officer Lane ordered Mr. Floyd out of the car, put his hands on Mr. Floyd, and pulled him out of the car. Officer Lane handcuffed Mr. Floyd. Mr. Floyd actively resisted being handcuffed.

Once handcuffed, Mr. Floyd became compliant and walked with Officer Lane to the sidewalk and sat on the ground at Officer Lane’s direction. In a conversation that lasted just under two minutes, Officer Lang asked Mr. Floyd for his name and identification. Officer Lane asked Mr. Lloyd if he was “on anything” and explained that he was arresting Mr. Lloyd for passing counterfeit currency.

Officers Kueng and Lane stood Mr. Floyd up and attempted to walk Mr. Floyd to their squad car (MPD 320) at 8:14 p.m. Mr. Floyd stiffened up, fell to the ground, and told the officers he was claustrophobic. MPD Officers Derek Chauvin (the defendant) and Tou Thoa then arrived in a separate squad car.

The officers made several attempts to get Mr. Floyd in the backseat of squad 320 from the driver’s side. Mr. Floyd did not voluntarily get in the car and struggled with the officers by intentionally falling down, saying he was not going in the car, and refusing to stand still. Mr. Floyd is over six feet tall and weighs more than 200 pounds.

While standing outside the car, Mr. Floyd began saying and repeating that he could not breathe. The defendant went to the passenger side and tried to get Mr. Floyd into the car from that side and Lane and Kueng assisted. The defendant pulled Mr. Floyd out of the passenger side of the squad car at 8:19:38 p.m. and Mr. Floyd went to the ground face down and still handcuffed. Kueng held Mr. Floyd’s back and Lane held his legs. The defendant placed his left knee in the area of Mr. Floyd’s head and neck. Mr. Floyd said, “I can’t breathe” multiple times and repeatedly said, “Mama” and “please,” as well. The defendant and the other two officers stayed in their positions.

The officers said, “You are talking fine” to Mr. Floyd as he continued to move back and forth. Lane asked, “should we roll him on his side?” and the defendant said, “No, staying put where we got him.” Officer Lane said, “I am worried about excited delirium or whatever.” The defendant said, “That’s why we have him on his stomach.” None of the three officers moved from their positions. BWC video shows Mr. Floyd continue to move and breathe.

At 8:24:24, Mr. Floyd stopped moving. At 2 27-CR-20-12646 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 5/29/2020 8:25:31 the video appears to show Mr. Floyd ceasing to breathe or speak. Lane said, “want to roll him on his side.” Kueng checked Mr. Floyd’s right wrist for a pulse and said, “I couldn’t find one.” None of the officers moved from their positions.

At 8:27:24, the defendant removed his knee from Mr. Floyd’s neck. An ambulance and emergency medical personnel arrived, the officers placed Mr. Floyd on a gurney, and the ambulance left the scene. Mr. Floyd was pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner (ME) conducted Mr. Floyd’s autopsy on May 26, 2020. The full report of the ME is pending but the ME has made the following preliminary findings. The autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.

The defendant had his knee on Mr. Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in total. Two minutes and 53 seconds of this was after Mr. Floyd was non-responsive. Police are trained that this type of restraint with a subject in a prone position is inherently dangerous

Minnesotan here. My take is that Walz and the mayor Frey have had 3 nights to get it right and they have done nothing but retreat, sympathize, cry on national television, and let even the cop-shop burn...regardless of the resources they've had at hand. Last night it was 500 NG, a bunch of state troopers, conservation officers, and out-of-towners besides all hands on deck Minneapolis cops. They wouldn't even protect the firefighters, so torched buildings continue to burn to the ground.

Needless to say, I'm skeptical that another 1000 NG are going to make a big difference tonight. Not if they are under the same rules of engagement and leadership as have been in place previous nights.

Well me and my 3 legged German Shepherd just had a riot in 1 of our pastures. I threw bricks at some hay bales and trees. Yelled some obscenities about Trump at them also. My German Shepherd contemplated the social injustice of it all. We scrammed and called it a day before the cops showed up.
