It was a major agenda item in the "Movement for Black Lives" or M4BL manifesto I posted yesterday. The very purpose of state and local governments is to protect public health, safety and morals from harm. These are called the "police powers." The purpose is to provide stability for safe, healthy rearing of families, and establishment of economies. Order makes civilization possible.
Why would it be a major agenda item for a group that states:
We are Abolitionist:
We believe that prisons, police and all other institutions that inflict violence on Black people must be abolished and replaced by institutions that value and affirm the flourishing of Black lives.
We believe in centering the experiences and leadership of the most marginalized Black people, including but not limited to those who are trans and queer, women and femmes, currently and formerly incarcerated, immigrants, disabled, working class, and poor.
We believe in transformation and a radical realignment of power:
The current systems we live inside of need to be radically transformed, which includes a realignment of global power. We are creating a proactive, movement-based vision instead of a reactionary one.
We build kinship with one another:
We draw from political lessons, grow in our leadership, and expanding our base to build a stronger movement.
We are anti-capitalist:
We believe and understand that Black people will never achieve liberation under the current global racialized capitalist system.
Obviously, their beliefs are rooted in Marxism. They want to "tear down" current institutions and make communities unsafe and unhealthy, so they can "transform" them into a Marxist society with free college education and universal health care using the resources that previously went to law enforcement.
This is also why leftists, supported by Soros' money." have been pushing DA's who refuse to prosecute and legislators who are emptying jails and eliminating bail. They want to tear down current institutions that have had some success in keeping communities safe so that frightened people will clamor for an authoritarian Marxist government that will do the job - like China.

Angels Camp, CA — A previously canceled demonstration has been expanded upon and city officials are scurrying to prepare for it.
Angels Camp City Council has called an emergency virtual session at 12:30 p.m. to address community plans that have sprung up for two protests, one this afternoon and another one tomorrow at 3 p.m. in solidarity with Black Lives Matter, honoring George Floyd and other victims of racial violence.
The demonstrations will be at Highway 4 and 49 corridor crossroads, a popular place for local protesters to chant and wave signs at passersby.
Although a peaceful event is anticipated, council members expect to declare a local emergency for the next seven days due to the potential for civil unrest, threatened conditions, and bad behavior leading to crimes. They will also consider imposing a curfew from 8 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Saturday that may be further extended.

57-Member Buffalo Police Team Resigns Over Officers’ Suspension
All 57 members of the Buffalo Police Department Emergency Response Team resigned on Friday in response to the department suspending two officers after a video surfaced showing them shoving a 75-year-old protester to the ground.
The Thursday footage shows the man approaching officers amid a George Floyd protest in Niagara Square and an officer pushing the man, causing him to tumbled backward and fall. Upon hitting his head, blood could be seen running down the side of his face and onto the pavement.

Two officers were suspended without pay shortly after the footage went viral, said Buffalo Police Department spokesman Mike DeGeorge. The man is currently in stable condition, according to reports.
The now-resigned officers remain employed by the department, but are no longer on Emergency Response Team, which was formed in 2016 for the purpose of managing mass protests.
“The City of Buffalo is aware of developments related to the work assignments of certain members of the Buffalo police force,” Mayor Byron Brown said in a statement. “At this time, we can confirm that contingency plans are in place to maintain police services and ensure public safety within our community. The Buffalo police continue to actively work with the New York State Police and other cooperating agencies.”
