I'd stay away from that vegan jerky. I figure they must have some sort of nasty prion disease that causes them to believe bullcrap and make poor choices. Prion diseases are hard to kill and can be transfered through eating contaminated meat, don't know about STDs but I'm willing to bet that the vegans are full of those too. Not worth the risk.Did my regular shop at Safeway on Wednesday, then sent DH back to use his loyalty card on Thursday or friday. The local independent didn't have anything I needed or prices that were exceptional. I did notice that while the sale price on half gallons of milk (97c) was the same as it has been since around October, the limit is now 3 - it used to be 4. Very few items that I bought - all on sale.
Hit the discount grocer yesterday when we had to go to a much larger town. Most of their stock is junk food (chips, cookies, vegan jerky --??). They had only 1/2 of one aisle for what I would consider real food ( canned goods that are not condiments). Very few beans or pasta, but lots of frou-frou stuff. I was able to buy collagen powder and CALM magnesium supplement for about half of what I normally pay, so that was good. I also bought some 2 gallon ziploc bags for whenever we raise meat birds again.
My store had it the last time I was there, but it was over on the clearance aisle. Not exactly really recent news but Aldi's no longer carries ghee. We used to buy a jar every trip or so until we were getting ahead, then slacked off while we used down a bit. Guess we waited too long because I haven't seen it at any Aldi's since at least mid-year last.

My local WalMart has some, but not a lot of, regular and reduced sodium beef broth and chicken stock. What is out is the LOW sodium broths, which I've been looking for, for a friend. The "reduced" is still quite high in sodiumOur local Walmart has been completely out of regular and reduced sodium beef broth in both cans and cartons for months. I like canned better. I haven't tried ordering from them online, because I don't like dented cans. I used to get that a lot when ordering from them. I'm almost out, so I'll be checking at the meat market, tomorrow when I go. They carry a lot of other items than just fresh cut meat.

Wonder if it's regional shortage? Our Kroger has reduced sodium, at least in cartons, but I think cans as well. I just looked to verify, the broth I buy is Kroger brand. Don't know about Swanson's or other major brands.Yeah, it's the low sodium I've been looking for, but can't find. There is plenty of chicken broth of all kinds, but no beef broth.

There's always the old-fashioned way: boil bone-in thighs with skin with no salt and use a fat separator...Our Walmart has no store brand or any other brand. Cartons or canned.

I know, that doesn't solve your problem...
Oops... lol.I need beef broth, not chicken. There is plenty of chicken broth of all types available.
Wanted to buy 25# of Black Eyed Peas. Haven’t found it yet. Smaller packages are available at high price but not the larger bag I usually buy.
$3.03/lb? One pound bags at WalMart cost about half of that, here. But, there's usually only about 10-12 pounds on the shelves at a time.Black-Eyed Peas, 25 Pounds – Raw Dried Whole Cow Peas, Kosher, and Vegan, Sproutable, Bulk Black-Eyed Peas. High in Dietary Fiber, Easy to Cook. Great for Soups, Stews, Salads and Vegan Burgers. Product of the USA. $75.63 $3.03 per lb

I also use Azure but they are showing no bulk available.I buy them from Azure Standard. I don't know how the price compares because I haven't purchased any in a couple of years.
Did you get the hippie bananas by mistake? Regular bananas were still $.59lb when I was in the store two days ago. Been that price for a while here.Bananas. Last time the boss wanted bananas, I paid 54 cents a pound for 'em. That was in December, if my rememberer is working correctly. Today, $1.19! Only got 3 bananas, but told the boss she gonna have to gag up a little more for groceries if she wants the gourmet items!
I don't think so. I bought 'em on a pickup order. Hit 'buy again' button. Just checked history and been paying 44-56 cents for that SKU every time I did a pickup order for the last couple years. But I'll know for certain when I go into town here shortly.Did you get the hippie bananas by mistake?
I have found a lot of grocery items are cheaper if you do the grocery pick up. One item was $3 more in the store.I don't think so. I bought 'em on a pickup order. Hit 'buy again' button. As always - no. The high prices were the third party rip-off sellers who you get shunted to when Amazon is out of stock. Our local food bank (SE MI) has been asking for the 18-pack Kraft Easy Mac for a while now. It has cost $18.99 on Amazon for several weeks. I kept checking back, and yesterday the price was $7.89, so I jumped on it and ordered 5 cases (the max allowed). Looked again today, and the price is back to the stratosphere - $17.89. Did my purchase cause the price jump?
The breakfast sandwich "special" in this house is two pieces of toast, a slice of real fried bacon cut in half, and a fried egg. Even cheaper.I read an article that says an Egg McMuffin is now 7.29. I can buy a good brand of english muffins for 4.88, two packages of canadian bacon for 5.79 (only 3 slices in one package) and american cheese for 4.98 (24 count) and make my own for 2.62 each. Still not cheap but way cheaper than mcdonalds.
The baby organic bananas that I love are only .79 a pound here (they're worth the difference in price) I think it was a computer error .Bananas. That's cool that it was taken care of so fast.It was a glitch in their online pricing. Redneck bananas priced at hippy banana prices. Enough people complained, it was already adjusted both on the website AND on my order. Guy said even if I hadn't said anything, it was made right. Also said they had half a dozen complaints from that one store.

It irks me when DH and I do our monthly shopping at Walmart dealing with the pick up order carts or whatever they're called. They are on every grocery aisle sometimes 2 or 3 of them. We have to shop around them.I have found a lot of grocery items are cheaper if you do the grocery pick up. One item was $3 more in the store.
Yeah, same at Kroger. They have big carts to fill multiple orders and they block big sections of shelves. And it takes them some time to check device, pick out products, scan them and check for next item. It's irritating. It irks me when DH and I do our monthly shopping at Walmart dealing with the pick up order carts or whatever they're called. They are on every grocery aisle sometimes 2 or 3 of them. That's why I do the curbside pickup at Walmart.
