We went to Walmart last night....and got a few items....they were stocking like crazy....carts with food to be stocked all over the place....the place was full of food..didn't really see any holes. ....but it was all very expensive ....they had eggs and milk and bread....thin on dry cat food but that's about all
Barry over the last year we replaced tires on both the Tundra and the Rav4..we most generally get a good deal because DH works at a tractor dealership and they get all their tires at the local tire shop...they know DH because he is up there all the time getting equipment tires..they recommended the best deal they could give him and we still paid an outrageous price....we also replaced 2 tractor tires and the rims..the through his dealership (with his employee discount) and the tires from the tire place...these were the small front tires and that was a lot more with the discounts than your 2 tires...
we also did brakes on the Tundra and the Rav4...thank goodness DH was able to get the parts and do the labor himself.. we had a mind blowing estimate from the Toyota dealer for that....the parts were inexpensive the labor was outrageous. ..

Kamala Harris claims Biden has "reduced heating and electricity bills so folks have more money in their pocket."

What is she talking about? Electricity is up 11.9%, fuel oil is up 27.7%, and natural gas is up 26.7% over last year.

It's in the script the propagandists handed her. They make it up in advance for canned presentation and make it up on the fly for when the public is actually awake and aware.

Yeah...,DS's Honda suddenly wouldn't start after church (55 miles from home). He got it towed home with his AAA plan. Dealer wanted $800 to replace it! I think it cost DS under a hundred bucks for the part, and an afternoon plus multiple curse words to get it back running.

Since mine is an equipment mechanic by trade...not too many curse words....unless he is working with wood..

Presently scouting the local corned beef.

One store has it at $7.99.lb for point cut, $9.99/lb for flat cut. Just before St Patrick's Day, it usually drops to under $2.00/lb.

A little off topic, but I keep hearing about the extreme amount of theft from Walmart and Target and I assume other stores. Once Walmart opened, we lost the smaller businesses in a 50-mile radius and those 50 miles intersect with other Walmart stores. So now we're dependent on Walmart and Walmart is being forced to close stores because of the huge losses due to theft, where does that leave us? I know that theft is a huge problem at the Walmart where I shop due to conversations with various clerks, and I was told the HyVee next door now has security.

In the past I've seen someone shoplifting and reported it and, when nothing was done about it, I stopped bothering to report it. I now just concentrate on keeping myself and my purse safe and get what I need and get out as quickly as I can.

Even if your local Walmart does not close, we will all be paying higher prices to cover the theft losses.

Day by day
I went shopping today, just a normal weekly 'hit all the stores I need to kind of trip.' It was interesting.

Stopped in at Kroger looking for a particular brand of Easter chocolate, which they didn't have...not a big deal. They seem to be changing some areas around; the clearance section was down to two bins instead of a chunk of an aisle.

HEB looked pretty good, prices were up, of course, most everything was stocked but the produce section was looking thin in many areas.

Stopped at Home Depot for some Ryobi chain saw oil. Shelf empty, couldn't find a store employee to check the back. Came home and ordered it online.

Stopped at Tractor Supply, no cattle mineral salt blocks, they're set up for Chick Days but no chicks in the store at the moment.

Gas prices went up again. Sigh.

Keeping yourself safe is all you can do. I used to see it all the time. Off topic. I learned years ago to not get involved when I reported a little boy being beat up by his dad in the parking lot of market. I called the cops and gave him his license and waited. He was long gone by the time they arrived. When I followed up on it they told me he was from another town so not their problem. Plus they were nasty to me at the station.

Marjorie Taylor Green: First, Biden spent more than any other President in history, causing the worst inflation in over 40 years. Now his plan to "tackle" the debt is to raise taxes on the American people who are suffering from his out of control spending.

Biden budget plan will bring America to its knees.

The local independent was well stocked yesterday and busy. Their hot deli is where a lot of the local working men go. Safeway had a lot of holes in everything...eggs, meat, canned and frozen goods, and bread.

I hate grocery shopping now days. It's like a crap shoot. On Instacart you have to pick a substitute for everything.
Will they have said item or not. Only the shadow knows.
Had my good shopper this morning but too many substitutes. Does anyone know what's up with Oscar Meyer Lunchmeat? Why is it so hard to get? I got that deli bologna today and it is probably better anyway.
And why would a large market not have any ground beef at their meat counter? Only the tube. Geeze I just don't buy into shortages of beef. They had everything else.

Not a problem here (N MN). Plenty of fresh ground beef in the stores - both grocery and meat store. Got fresh ground 80/20 just today for $3.49/lb.

Also, Walmart has had a great deal on Oscar Meyer all winter - bologna and Cotto salami (only) lunch meat, but it's been running at $2.48/lb. package.

Shrinkflation! I don't use a lot of sugar, so I purchase the "Domino 100 Sugar Packets"

I had finished a box and was opening the new box. The new box had a NEW design. So I was comparing the two boxes side by side, and WHAM! The packets went from 354 grams down to 350 grams each. (12.50 oz to 12.35 oz)

Who would ever know? Sneaky-sneaky.
Thanks for the info! I purchase them for home and work coffee use- I thought they were smaller.

First off, I have no idea whether coconut milk powder will work.

Making cream cheese is not difficult and there's not much hands-on time required, but it's a bit involved to post here. The recipe is on my blog.

i apologize for the thread drift, but I wanted to let you know, School Marm, that I sent your link for emergency baby formula on to my wife’s cancer doctor, who is also a board certified OB/GYN.

Her doctor thanked me for the link, and said that she thought the recipes would work well in a pinch. She would not hesitate to refer others to your site IF getting baby formula got to be problematic.

Just thought you might want to know
