Seriously, seems that the main-stream media has stopped talking about this. The news of Duncan's family being released seems to be a non-event.

I do feel relieved that the family escaped unscathed (if that is the real story).

However, I'm wondering if it's really over. Like Nina Pham's boyfriend: I read that he's now in the hospital with active symptoms. And what about all those "potential Ebola cases"?

So what do you think? Is it time to sound the all-clear bell?

Would be all clear.....

IF the family is ok.

If in about a week no other HCW gets in it Dallas

IF in about a week no one who had contact with Vinson and Pham get it

AND --- while its possible the above may come true, the biggest "IFs" will not --- IF we stop giving VISAs to people from the Ebola ravaged countries AND IF we actually enforce the border.

So, I'd not say all clear yet.

I'd add another condition to the ones listed above (in determined if all is clear)..

IF you believe what you are being told regarding Duncan's girlfriend, the boyfriend, the others that were quarantined, and other cases that may already exist but are being swept under the media rug..

There's too much inconsistency for my liking to think that this is a non-event. When I SEE Duncan's girlfriend live and talking on TV, THEN I will feel a 'bit' better. Of course, I also think I'll see a flying purple unicorn before that happens also.

No way this is over when we have the Rapid Response Team that was just formed. To me, it tells me it's getting out of hand and the media is helping out as usual, to squash all the stories.

It might be "over" until the elections are over. Than it will be back with a vengeance. It's just being covered up right now because it's making the WH look like more of a buffoon than they usually do. The effed up, the CDC effed up...or was ordered too stand down, either way the current administration is taking the blame for all of the incompetence. They have to quiet this thing down until elections over....I don't know that TPTB are going to want that though, the real powers behind the thrones, seems to me that they are trying to clean house these days.

The threat of Ebola is over.

But the threat of Unbola is just beginning. It has the same symptoms and death rate as Ebola, just not as good of a press agent.

I expect some interesting news once the election is over.

My opinion is it is hushed and can not "technically" be declared over until the last victim is rid of Ebola and there has been no cases of Ebola in the US for 42 days.

A difficult answer, indeed.

IF, in the next two or three weeks, there are no verified cases, pwehaps folks can breathe a tad easier. By that time, Duncan's GF and extended family would no longer be an issue.

Two issues remain unsettled.

1) The soldiers in West Africa eventually coming home after working with the sick people there.

2) The Fedgov and various agemcies spewing jumbled and/or contradictory press statements.

We shall see.

just sayin

I saw a clip somewhere where a Congressman questioned the panel and determined that there were about 100 people from the infected countries legally entering the US every day. 94% of them were screened. There are no direct flights to the US from these countries so they all come in from Europe. Each one has the potential to carry the disease, although the screenings may have some small effect on risk. (They don't show symptoms yet, they lie etc.) There are also people already here who may manifest after screening or US citizens who have visited family, traveled for business, pleasure or missionary purposes and are returning. There are the soldiers Obama is sending over.

There is also the avowed threat by ISIS to bring Ebola in intentionally.

The risk is not zero.

First outbreak in US.
This is all from 1 guy from west Africa. The US has 150 to 160 more flying in, everyday.

The .gov and O have no say in this. As long as air travel stays open, sickies will keep coming.

Health pros did learn not to count on the CDC for anything.
That is a plus.

By the way, there is no way to hide a massive outbreak in America.

There is no way to know when the next one starts.
Or how bad it will be.

This is out of uncle sugar's hands.

I can't help but think of Benghazi just before an important election. What makes this any different. We have learned that the power of this government is immense. I have come to realize that there are forces at work that will do anything to retain control. Anyone that doesn't understand how incredibly important this election is, is simply not worth talking to. Knowing that and understanding all the implications, then anything is possible especially during the very short time left before the elections. I think the current administration realizes there is even a possibility that their president could be impeached if they cannot retain control of the Senate. I don' think it gets any more critical than that. My personal morality does not allow me to take this further than these stated facts. My approach continues to be guarded, and I am making strategic choices to ensure that I keep myself and my loved ones out of harm's way as much as in in my power to do so. I trust no one to make these decisions for me.

The problem, of course, is that no one would ever be able to tell the difference between "no cases in 42 days" and "no cases in 42 days that anyone will tell you about."

Untill it is over with in Africa, it won't be over with here.
Was the outbreak just an excuse to get our military in there?
Wether it is "under control" or not, this is going to fester for a long, long time.

well...let's look at what firestone did to successfully stop the outbreak - the only success story i believe btw

1 cornerstone of the fight was a basic respect for human life and a desire to save people. all the people they were 'responsible' for, not just select groups but all

the 2nd cornerstone was honesty. with themselves, the workers, and their families. this thread of honesty was maintained thru all stages of the battle

the 3rd cornerstone was acknowledgement of the facts behind the virus itself and how it spread. again honesty and info dissemination was respected

the 4th cornerstone was a strategy of isolation, quarantine, and decontamination. again all previous cornerstones held here

then they properly executed their plan

everyone in the town, firestone, the workers, the families - all were on the same page. all had the same goal - survival of all

all had ownership of the plan and process

all embraced it

all executed it

all worked together towards the agreed upon goals of survival

and respect for the sanctity of human life and honesty ran thru all of it

now....when i compare their success to the fustercluck we are living in here......

No way this is over. No way. As said in other threads, wait until elections are over, that's why if you don't have your stuff now you'd best be getting it.

If our borders were sealed, 60 days without a suspected case is a good safety margin.

The terrorist angle to this whole thing is what has me concerned tho.

The mess that resulted from the Duncan case is probably over.
We still need to stop allowing routine people from any Ebola stricken country to come into the country.
This is a no brainer and contrary to what the zero tolerance liberals tried to put out, this policy would naturally allow for relief efforts and volunteers to come back into the country, but they should be monitored if they had no contact with Ebola victims and quarantined if they were involved in direct care. It's just common sense.

My real fears revolve around terrorists seeing what a mess that just a single person with Ebola caused this country. Would it really be so hard for them to grab a couple of test tubes of Ebola tainted blood from African victims and travel to this country?

The dark forces keep trying to do us in. Over and over. But there is a much greater Positive Force that keeps stopping them dead in their tracks.

Folks keep praying for help to stop this kind of stuff and when they receive it, don't want to believe it...:spns:

Re: Duncan's relatives. I have a feeling that he knew was likely to come down with Ebola, after helping those sick people in Africa, and came here because he thought he'd get better care. If I'm correct, perhaps his family took precautions and that's why they haven't been infected.

I'm still waiting to understand how it is that nobody Duncan stayed with, encountered, etc. got sick, but nurses at Texas Presbyterian seem to be getting it despite whatever precautions they took.

I totally agree with you on this. Pray, pray, pray for the good, God, to help us defeat the Evil!

And in a non serious remark, sometimes I feel like many of the prayer warriors and Christians and the good folks here are all like Jedi Knights fighting the Empire's constant attempt to purge us! But we keep fighting back, asking questions, and standing together.

I've been considering that it was a false flag the last few days. Either it's not Ebola and they claimed it was, or it was never here. Who knows what Duncan really died of, his woman lay in the "sweat soaked sheets" he left, not changing them out, and by some miracle, she's Ebola free after she and her children were spirited away to private homes for the duration of her absence from the media. Usually there are photos of people (everyone has a cell with a camera now a days) in varying degrees of trauma for just about any event plastered all over the internet but for some reason, with all the Ebola action, the photos have been almost non-existent. The two Americans who were ushered to the US amidst fanfare and MSM anxiously awaiting their arrival were the first 'biggies' in the news, and suddenly Ebola is everywhere. Why? Now it's nowhere. Why? I'm not sold that it was or was not Ebola, but my question is, why now? What came of it? Never let a good crisis go to waste, which in reality is, use mind control to get what you want:

I think it's possible the old "trauma" then "solution" equation has been used on us again. The trauma opens the mind to actions by others that would never be tolerated at any other time. Well, I saw several members here insist that martial law should be put into place, which quite honestly floored me. I also read that we have a new "czar", because, you know, we're a subsidiary of communist Russia. And now we find that obola has waved his illegal pen and tried to make kicking in the doors of the sick legal-apparently it was a minor detail he left out of hillary's health care package, and it flies in the face of our Constitutional Rights. But hey, it's for the childruuuun.

Just the view from where I sit.
