Quake Prediction Says "Signal Just Hit," Warns Of Potential Big Earthquake From San Francisco To LA

Yeah, um...

I'm good with it being even more overdue, given that I'm just barely east of the I-5 corridor that they consider the boundary to which everything west will be, and I quote an expert, "toast".

That expert was definitely being a bit of a drama queen, but I still would prefer to not experience that earthquake in person.
Me, too. We're just west of the I-5 corridor. :D Living dangerously. LOL

I'm down here in Oceanside, south end of Camp Pendleton. We have the San Jacinto fault line. The San Andreas is inland from us and lines up with the Salton Sea to the Gulf of Baja. Lots of small quakes. Last 5 pointer that I felt was back in about 2010 or so from the Gulf of Baja. That is where our larger ones come from.
Lucifer's Hammer has a section about the Salton Sea fault.

I live on fill behind a levee. My EQ risk is liquefaction and with the recent rains, the risk could be worse. I do have EQ insurance but not flood insurance. I also live near the Sacramento River Delta. (I keep thinking of those videos of Fukishima and the water rising up the river.) Fortunately the Delta empties into the San Francisco Bay and not the ocean.

I have not felt the last two recent EQs, so evidently, that fault line does not run under here.

My daughter, SIL and kids are skiing so they are high and away from here. They just dug out about 5 feet of snow to get into the cabin they rented.

Prayers for all who might be effected.

All of you have to check water flow patterns upstream of your location. All of you, not just California.

Losing I-5 that way kills all shipping to and from Canada west of the Cascades.

Added: this is what I meant for tortminder.

You are correct, of course.

For me personally, I'm on a ridge and far enough away from the closest breach zone to not have to worry about it. But this area relies heavily on hydro energy and there are a LOT of dams.

Well I've never heard of them till now and I've lived in Quake country and being a prepper for over 3 decades.

...and I've given plenty of corporate New-Hire orientations about Safety issues, so I've tried to stay on top of these things. (Before I retired)
I've got a lot of cats and I never once saw them predict an earthquake. I have however heard dogs howl seconds before one hits.

My old Dog (now gone) never reacted before any quake hit. Plenty of reaction after the quake started, mostly a really scared look in her (dog's) eyes and uncontrollable farting.

I hate it when I see Fear in a Child's or animals eyes, the stark fear. You can feel it and they don't understand, all I can do is hug them.

Interesting… earthquakes don’t scare me. I survived Northridge quake of 1994 (in Burbank), and went to work that very morning! I worked at an answering service. Aftershock after aftershock all day, all week…
Always been interested in quakes… first board I went (belonged) to was Jim Berkland’s in 1998 when I first got internet… syzygyjob

My cat Lily could sense quakes coming and would hiss (which was out of character).
Are we in an earthquake window?

I was on Jim's board as well. Gosh I'm gonna have to sit and remember when.

Someone from there posted a link to something here (prior to 2000) and that’s when I started lurking at tb2k before finally joining in 2004! I want to say it was data junkie but I could be wrong… Now the board is earthboppin. I read ever so often but don’t keep up there anymore.

I have some doubts about this prediction and this site in general. I would suggest people go to the site and look around, something isn't right. No narratives anywhere that I saw. Never saw any pointers to the methods used, no explanation of the quake signals supposedly received, or how received. No mention on the site of a Hosts or Admin name/link or way to contact anyone. Maybe someone else can find it. Does anyone know this sites record of successes?

ETA:
OK, I find a link to a website (not only twitter) Earthquake Prediction Research, california earthquake prediction, world earthquake prediction
There is more info, I need to explore.

Yeah, Berkland was on Art Bell's radio show a few decades ago and if remember correctly he would be highlighting the MASSIVE WEIGHT from all the water LA just got hit with, especially underground in the sewage system etc. HIs theory, also related to tidal flow and additional water weight. Man, I miss Art Bell so much. Anyway, I credit this warning as valid at least fpr San Francisco and below to LA.

some very good comments.
also, very few people outside of california could care less about the ultra liberals that live there.

Me too, and I think his basic theory is that just as the moon and sun affect the ocean tides, they may very well affect the earth with the same "pulls." People who live on the coasts, especially the West Coast, are familiar with some of the worst tides (and flooding, like on New Year's Eve) that often occur when a torrential rain storm hits at the same time as an effective lunar-solar tidal combination. Then you see things like the photos seen on the web the last few days. When I lived there, this happened most often in early January because the regular rainy season is going strong and/or around the Winter Solstice.

It makes perfect sense that both the moon and the sun may "pull" on the Earth and/or the water aquifers underneath the earth that affect the fault lines.

As usually happens with new theories, no matter how logical, if they are too far "out there" from previous ideas, his ideas were utterly rejected by the official Academic Earth Quake community. Instead of actively setting up studies to either verify or disprove any apparent connections, they just tried to make him into a crank.

This is another sad example of "The Science" not doing actual science to protect the reputations and careers of those already in positions of power and authority and earning a paycheck. Jim continued researching far into retirement, and not everything he found was positive. He looked for a possible connection between Great Quakes and Sun Spots but couldn't find any, the same with the positions of the other planets related to the Earth (or at least he hadn't when the board went to a paid membership, and I had to leave).

There was a connection with overall geological activity during lengthy solar minimums like the Little Ice Age, but not with any particular sunspot.

We also had forum members back then that were working on picking up electrical pulses and using ham radios to try to check radio and/or electronic signals given off before significant quakes (volcanoes do this). That may be "the signal" that is being talked about here.

If folks in the local area want to, they should check with the local shelters if there has been any considerable increase in run-away or lost pets in the last couple of weeks (ignoring New Year's fireworks).

I will close by something my Native Elder friend once said but has been said by many people, I think he told me the particular proverb was Pomo (Californian Tribe, but I'm not sure):

"When the Wild Four Leggegeds come into the village, and the Tame Four Leggegeds flee the village, then it is likely that an Earthquake is about to happen."

My cat I had several years ago, Alex, always gave me a heads up in Bakersfield and even here in Alabama just before a quake. Granted it was only a few minutes or seconds, depending on how close it was, but he always reacted before the chandelier started swaying or things bouncing. I really miss him.

Dutchsinse has been doing a pretty good quake prediction of late. He went on live at 12 midnight my time tonight and said he's been blocked from his usual internet access on several fronts for the past month and is none to happy about it. Had a poll about getting a van and traveling to do his quake predictions, overwhelming yes to that by his viewers.
Have to say, he's been extremely close on his predictions, I think he has a good deal of the quake causes figured out.

Brent Dmitruk is on Twitter and Telegram. His theory is that plates are jammed east of the Pacific. Earthquake activity slowed down because the plates can't move.

When a plate finally breaks loose, there will be a massive 10 earthquake and tsunami activity on every coast. Severity depends on the direction of the sloshing relative to the position of the coast.

Pacific coast is directly facing the tsunami activity. His theory is interesting because it's backed up by statistical analysis.
