Oh Lordy raven PLEASE share your diet protocol and how long it took you to lose those 60 pounds!
I have on other threads.
It was 2.5 pounds a week, ever week. Took 26 weeks. 6 months.
I used Keto. I purchased a Keto-Mojo meter to measure blood glucose and ketones and use it daily. I looked up my Macros on the internet. I used carb manager to determine carbs, protein, and fat for everything I eat.
I built a meal plan that I could stick to (although I may be the only person you will ever meet that will eat the same thing day in and day out for 6 months). I have 2 eggs and 2 bacon for breakfast. Quarter pound hamburger patty w/cheese and one serving of green beans for dinner. And lunch is some combination of almonds, cheese, and pepperoni for lunch and snacks. I record everything I eat along with fat, protein, and carbs after every meal.
The keto meter was very beneficial because I quickly found out the things I absolutely can't eat which is actually different for everyone.
Me? OMG, I cannot eat rice - ever - It will kick me out of ketosis for days. Those Digiorno Pizzas? Forget about it. However, I can split a small thin crust pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut and be back in ketosis the next day (hoorah).
No bread. Keto tortillas are ok as long as I check the carbs.
You get the idea.
And the keto diet is not about protein, although I found I was not eating enough. It is about eating more fat, which is really difficult. Yes, not eating carbs is difficult but those are mostly cravings that are the result of eating carbs.
Today I went to a restaurant. I had a 1/3 pound chopped steak with bacon sautéed onions, and a side of cottage cheese. Then I went to tractor supply and bought a pair of slim fit, cowboy cut jeans with a size 34 waist.
And funny enough, my back no longer hurts and I can walk upright like a human - but that might just be the result of not carrying around an extra 60 pounds all the time.
Oh yea, I forgot the disclaimer.
I ain't a doctor. This ain't a prescription. Results may vary. Ain't no guarantee.
