Neither here nor there.
Shortage of clothes.

I reported on this earlier this month when I bought a new pair of dress boots for winter. The guy who owns the store told us, without our having asked him, that 5here was a shortage of zippers, snaps, eyelets that are used to make shoes, boots, jeans, coats, etc. there are entire warehouses sitting filled to the brim with clothing and shoe items waiting to be finished.

Plan accordingly.

Re photos above -- yes, I saw gaps almost that bad the last time that I was in Target, especially in school supplies, kid's clothing, shoes, and socks for kids and adults. Plastic is also getting hard to get, again, think water bottles and food containers.

I didn't like the My Pillow I bought a few years ago. I'm a side sleeper and the pillow fluffs up and smothers me. Put it away as others have said.

Same thing with air conditioner, furnace parts, short supply and a long wait. Check on things now before winter comes knocking on your door

Sounds like thrift stores are about to become really popular, for those who do not have to have the latest and the most fashionable.

Sis had to take her jeep in for repairs...now sitting n waiting for parts at the dealer...6 weeks minimum wait for the part...
I got very lucky with my car this week; took only two days to repair but I had to wait for two weeks for the appointment.

The cost was sky high (!) though, but it had to be done. Can’t afford a new car.

That’s the weirdest shortage I think I’ve seen yet.
Zippers and snaps??! That’s just strange, to me! I don’t doubt it one bit though... :(

I’m thinking once the school shoppers are done, THATS when we’ll see the true shortages.

I don’t think anything will be restocked afterwards.

We had our 2018 Ford have problems that ruined the engine. Ford is replacing it free. We've been waiting about a month and don't expect the engine to be in until mid-September at the earliest. If it get here then, it will have been a month and a half when the dealer said it usually takes less than a week.

Oh, almost forgot, Taco Bell in town is shut down, and a few other fast food places are cutting back hours. They can't get anyone to apply for the jobs due to Biden's Unemployment Bonus Bucks!

I live in the country, small town near me has a Fred Meryers at which I shop once or twice a week….today, a Thursday, no sales, no events, no big holiday…the place was absolutely so packed with people. I can’t remember any time fighting crowds like this except just at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

As far as non-food shortages: My brother got another ferret, so now Winnie has a new buddy named Kim. Fred‘s was out of any small pet bedding so I stopped at the Pet Smart — got the absolute last package. Asked clerk and she said they aren’t getting anything much of lately, but especially not that item. Huh.

Another post on here somewhere mentioned wiper blades, so it made me get some replacements for our 3 vehicles today.
My little brother works part time at a national parts retailer chain. For a 2015 Ford, a 2018 Chevy, and a 2005 Dodge, he had to look at three different brands, and multiple "lines" in each brand to get me a pair for each vehicle. They were that far down in inventory.

A local glass guy posted this on facebook this morning.

"Good morning this is xxxxxxxxx owner of xxx glass. I would like to share to you of the things going on in the autoglass industry today.
The covid has finally become a factor in my industry of auto glass. When China shout done for a extended period of time it also in time has put the skids on the glass reproduction. The warehouses were at the time fully stocked up but now the warehouses are being depleted on alot of common numbers. Trucks SUVs that are common up here are getting hard to find.
Thanks to our big autoglass corporations manufacturing the glass all moved over seas.the labor rate is cheaper. So now we are totally dependent on other countries for our needs. When will we get our stuff together and learn lol. So if you are deciding on your windshield needs dont wait too long. I'm being told that it won't recover until the end of next year. Call me to check on availability and price before it's to late."

Mom needed a new microwave so I took her to town Thursday. All we have here is a Walmart. The shelves under the displays were empty. We got her one but it was not the one she had wanted. Lots of holes on the shelves. SE Ohio.

Went to the Outlet Mall yesterday for a couple winter shirts. I figured to spent around $100, but there weren't any. I went to Eddie Bauer, Levi, Gap, Wrangler, and Pendleton. The latter had a few but really expensive. I figure they are sitting in a container ship at Port of La. waiting to be offloaded so maybe they will arrive in stores by spring.

On the way back into town I found a Walmart and got 2 shirts and a 6 pack of socks for $55(including 10% sales tax), so it wasn't a bad shopping day after all. Western WA.

To add to the microwave post above . . . usually, Target and Walmart are packed full of little microwaves and dorm fridges for back-to-college. Such was not the case this year. All the stores had some, but they were sold out quickly and not restocked.

In fact, all of the college aisles had holes. Sheets, pillows, towels . . . hard hit. I know of several parents who ended up with pricey sheets from Bed, Bath, and Beyond because that's all that was available at the store.

Electronics and accessories!

My USB charging cables get a lot of use, and they dont seem to hold up that well. I've bought expensive ones and cheap ones-they all die. So, I went to my go-to cheap place, www.pulsetv.com. WOW!

Put in USB in the search box, and 8 pages of related stuff shows up. But... 80% is OUT OF STOCK!

Now, they have great deals in part because they get closeouts, etc. But I've ordered from them for 10 years- Ive never seen them have more than a few items out if stock.

Plus, my less-than-two years old Samsung tablet died. I ordered a new one off EBay. Looked great... never took a charge. Have to return it and start over! Grrr...

I bet since China Joes little rant yesterday that you won't be able to buy any ammo even if you have a dump truck load of $100 bills

I’d normally put this in the food shortage thread but I suspect the reason for the many refrigerated sections at Walmart being out is because they can’t repair them,

Try monoprice.com for cables, ear buds, etc. (I have no affiliation with them.)

I've used them for years. They're cheap and last about as long as the expensive ones.
