CRISIS NO TINY HOUSES for NC Flood Residents-- "Doesn't meet code"

This is a litmus test being conducted by the government swine...

They are going to force them to watch their loved ones suffer and freeze to see what if anything the "fearsome hillbillies" do about it!

So far, it looks like the hillbillies take it on the chin like chumps... if so, they deserve their fate! These are local government agents.. they are well within reach if you have the courage!

If a man can't muster some courage to fight and if necessary die to defend his kin, he is a slave!

Hmmm. Wheels Through The

Not to fear, FEMA will (might) have trailers there by next summer and all will be well! Right?
Yeah, I go with move into the tiny houses and make the county drag them away if that's what they insist on doing....
Trailers with mold issues anyhow (if i remember correctly)

Maybe the Amish don't use enough formaldehyde infused wood. Or, maybe FEMA requires an EV charging station be built with every new structure. Maybe they need HUD approved tags nailed to the outside corner.

Those officials should tared, feathered and rode out of town on a rail
From what I have seen on social media, they have gone shy of naming the officials for fear of retaliation and libel/slander charges. There is enough hatred over this, that I am surprised that one or more officials have not disappeared yet, and if they are, it is being covered over.

I have had a few exchanges with folks saying it ain't true if it ain't in the news and I always point out, the news only covers things if they go viral as we no longer have news, we have propoganda, and that I have seen multiple first hand accounts of those officials making things difficult. Usually the bigot ends up getting thread banned or the whole post gets removed. I tend to be very tactful in the exchange and usually the other side shows their insanity to not accepting government would harm and impair people.

Why not just simply ignore the law? I mean are they going to stake out every property to see if people are occupying buildings they deem unsafe? I would just be like "Ok whatever" and move right back in after they drive off.
The greater rub is that they drove out there to persecute them, instead of giving a helping hand.

Talk about a disconnect.

IIRC, both federal and state Emergency Declarations are still in effect for that whole area. AND, IIRC, the fact that those declarations are still in effect suspends a LOT of local and federal "details".

I'm starting to wonder if the building codes crap is not one of those "details" that should be suspended till the emergency is fully over.

If not, it should be.

I suspect Mr. T will put a helping hand in things once he gets sworn in if things are still going difficult for the locals...

Tornado here was end of June and we had a FEMA trailer by August as did anyone who needed one. One big family were actually provided two. They were 3-bedroom mobile homes.

If the authorities are so concerned about bathrooms, they could provide portable toilets. If they are concerned about water, they could provide water. If they are concerned about heat, they could provide heaters. And if electricity is such an issue, they could provide generators. Or they could let the people have shelters and figure out the rest themselves.

The media may be shy of it, but the Facebook posts I've seen have both the names and emails / work phone #s of the County officials responsible; I think I posted that (will check). (ETA--yes, that info is in the 1st post / OP)

IN the meantime, since the fools won't let them move into WOODEN buildings with 4 walls and a roof, at least two non-profits are working on getting RV's donated for these people to live in. It's better than a tent! Here is the information on three legit groups I know of that are TRYING to get REAL help out there to these people:

It's even WORSE -- he is telling how the govt is REDEFINING "flood plains" to PREVENT PEOPLE RE-BUILDING on their own home sites....up to the level of this "100" (or is it 500, or 1000?)-year flood.

He also says the govt is BLOCKING ROADS to PREVENT DONATED CAMPERS / RV's being brought in because the roads that the volunteers have rebuilt "haven't been certified safe" by the govt.

He reports people in the tents are HAVING TO FIGHT OFF BEARS AND COYOTES at night due to them smelling the food in the tents.

A quick adjustment to their spine with two pound cross peen hammer will do the trick. Plus they can't charge you with murder.
Then of course there are the three pound drillin hammers to fix feet, anckles, knees, hands, elbows and wrists so they can figure out What Now?

I personally know two of the "WV boys" that opened up that road for the people. The road that authorities said would take at least a year to open. They did it in a week. Ftr, I have not discussed their trip with them.

I think everyone would admit the road was an expedient temporary solution. It lacked weeks if not months of engineering. It may have encroached on private property not in the highway right-of-way.

I would suggest the "Cajun navy", the WV boys, and many other grass roots efforts cramp the style of government machinations.

I saw a thousand year flood near my home a few years ago. The local, state and federal authorities would have been happy to stymie any efforts to rebuild. I suspect "public space" would be a far better use of the damaged areas from the government perspective.

I don't believe the most egregious reports. I do suspect an "anti-rebuilding" sentiment exists.

Seems like that's the plan.

The 'officials' are using local or state ordinances to help put people in extreme danger in a time of extreme emergency.

So the question is, why is the Federal, State, and Local Governments against the people of America?

I know they have been for a long time, just by observing their actions. But why?

And how much more will people take before they say, enough?

Is that what you all want, govt. officials?
Do you hate your fellow man that much?

I’ll say it again….

We live in what is called a free and representative government, and one of the prominent features by which it is distinguished from a despotic one is, the preservation and protection of INDIVIDUAL RIGHT: for it can make no difference with the citizen what the form of government is that oppresses him, and deprives him of his right, whether it consists of one tyrant or 160, if his suffering and deprivation are the same.
If members of society give up any portion of their rights by becoming members of society, it is that they may obtain protection for such as remain; and on the same principle that allegiance is demanded by the government, protection is claimed by the citizen….and, if protection is not maintained, THE ORIGINAL COMPACT IS BROKEN.

Now…..where do we stand when government and corporations combine, and begin to viciously prey upon the people, body and soul, with impunity and abandon ?

Draw your own conclusions.

This is a Second Amendment issue.

And, incidentally, …..”asking permission”, under ANY circumstance, is tacit admission of willing subservience.

Exactly who is doing the roadblocks, rezoning, etc?

FEMA, state, county, town?
As far as the kibosh on letting people move into the "tiny houses" the Amish built, it's local Haywood County commissioners.

See post 1 this thread for names, phone #s, and emails.

My question is--can't anyone in a HIGHER position of authority DO something to over-rule these myrmidons who are over-impressed with their own au-thor-i-tay?

Or is there a way to GET THIS NEWS OUT to the conservative talk-show hosts--who would tear this thing wide open once it became generally known?

America, let’s take note of the Amish. Let’s learn and go back to all the good they are. They survive and survive well with much less. They have knowledge, heart and religion we have lost. I get so tired of the bashing of Amish in general. There’s good and bad in everything but I think as American citizens they offer so much more to this republic and it’s time we take their example. I hope folks utilize the tiny homes that are being built. This is ridiculous that folks need to worry about using them. My heart goes out to our fellow Americans dealing with this.

One group I know of is coordinating DONATED trailer-homes and RV's for people to live in on their land, but they need SO many more. They're called "Hope for Crisis" and their Facebook site is Hope For Crisis | Millersburg OH and their website is www.hopeforcrisis.com .

But the actual tiny houses would be a better solution; RV's and trailers don't have electric, water, and heat either unless they can be hooked up to it. You can put a little stove in a tiny house for cooking and heat.
I've learned (from the video above) that NOW NC officials are BLOCKING THE ROADS the people themselves got out there with backhoes, bulldozers, and crawlers and BUILT THEMSELVES--because "they weren't built by US so they may not be SAFE"---and are using that excuse to BLOCK LETTING THE RV HOMES THRU that people are donating for these folks to live in!

I swear this is beginning to look like they WANT those dispossessed people to DIE.

Hey--do the AMISH HOMES in Pennsylvania "meet code"???

Do THEY have "electricity, indoor running water, and (I would assume county officials are thinking of this in terms of HVAC systems) heating"?

IF THEY ARE OK IN PA, WHY NOT IN NC??????????????????????????

DH and I like to watch "Homestead Rescue." I wonder how many of the buildings the Raneys put up meet "code"?
Reality TV/scripted, yeah I know. But still.
I think about that sometimes. Yeah, right, I don't care if it's out in the boonies, some official is gonna come tell them they can't live there.

This is where the militias and other patriots could be of help providing security to the residents so that they can rebuild in peace.

This whole situation has the potential to kick off a local civil war that doesn't have to happen. Those people have gone through enough.

I wouldn’t be asking permission.
Feign ignorance.

Easier to claim ignorance and ask for reprieve than to gain permission beforehand.

Nail the semi-erected FEMA tent to the side of shed and use it as a "change area."

"We're living in the tent but the shed survived the flood."

ANY excuse becomes a good one when universally offered, and offers "plausible deniability."

I'm of the mindset they don't need to announce on social media or anywhere vocally that they're moving a tiny house to a property. JUST DO IT.

If local officials complain, get video of the encounter and let it go viral. Use their tactics against them.

I totally understand why these folks won't leave their property. They shouldn't have to go through this too after losing everything they owned.

The Amish have shown up big time between the election and now helping their NC neighbors. Much respect for them.

Ones I've been in have running water, refrigerators and gas stoves. In fact they use bottled gas like us "English" use electricity. Yes, there are refrigerators and freezers that run on propane, check out Lehmans.com for examples. They also use gasoline powered generators and solar.
