I have NOW heard that one county in North Carolina, HAYWOOD County, is REFUSING to allow refugees who lost their homes in the flood to live in the DONATED TINY HOUSES that AMISH people came in and BUILT for them!

The reason? They have no running water, heat, and electricity.

AND TENTS.......DO?????

Are these people CRAZY?

Is it better for them that people FREEZE TO DEATH IN TENTS than that they at least have four firm wood walls and a ROOF over their heads?

Their excuse is "FEMA is planning on bringing in trailers."

The FEMA trailers aren't even there. Per comments below the video, FEMA says it will be TWO MONTHS before they get trailers in there.

One group I know of is coordinating DONATED trailer-homes and RV's for people to live in on their land, but they need SO many more. They're called "Hope for Crisis" and their Facebook site is Hope For Crisis | Millersburg OH and their website is www.hopeforcrisis.com .

But the actual tiny houses would be a better solution; RV's and trailers don't have electric, water, and heat either unless they can be hooked up to it. You can put a little stove in a tiny house for cooking and heat.

Is there any way for a "church camp" to open it's doors to survivors and claim some sort of legal exemption for "Religious Sanctuary"? This is a concept the Catholic Church has had for centuries. Pass a temporary measure to rescind zoning restrictions for a period of 1 year (or whatever) so that people have shelter during the emergency. Put some sort of time limit on it to appease the "Karens" but stop telling people that they can't shelter in those tiny homes. That's absolutely ridiculous. In other places, the homeless are living in tiny homes that don't have water or bathrooms.

Yeah, the elected officials not on board with this plan need to be immediately recalled.

Come to think of it, building codes are unconstitutional, what you build on your property should have no input from any government entity.

I know, but it has to be safe… show me anywhere in the constitution that the right to micro manage how a person chooses to live was ever given to government.

But what about property values? Screw that.. unless you own a huge tract of land, build fancy houses and control how people live through an agreed upon HOA before purchase, you have no right to limit your neighbor on his property, to protect the perceived value of yours.

You may not like your neighbors bright pink paint, but his constitutional rights extend all the way to his property lines as yours do on your property. We have given away all of our fundamental rights, one by one for this B.S. greater good of the community line.
