Monkeypox Treatment and Management :

“hospitalization may be necessary” in severe cases”….

Also they mention the use of a negative pressure room which means airborne.

Here's what I started doing when SARS was a thing:

- My biggest tip: keep "outside" shoes outside. Do NOT wear them in the house. You can be barefooted, in socks, or buy a cheap pair of sneakers, but don't be bringing in viruses on your shoes.

Some shoes can stand a weak solution of bleach on the soles. Others can't. I typically put mine out on the porch in the afternoon sun periodically.

- When coming in from work/grocery shopping, take off the outer clothing in a mudroom or designed spot. I go to the basement and either wash those clothes or put them in a laundry basket. I suppose I'll have to start handling that with gloves.

- Next, go take a hot shower with soap. Yes, wash your hair.

- Next, go through the house with a dilute solution of bleach and wipe the door knobs. Do that to your car door handles, too.

- Do not re-wear your outer clothing until it has been washed.

This routine is a pain in the rear, but I think it really helped. I'll be wearing gloves more and maybe a face shield, depending. I suspect I'll wear safety glasses, first.

Along with all of this, stay away from small shops, like hair cut salons where they don't have the expensive filters on a/cs or furnaces. They just circulating the air. Don't breathe that. It is much better in a big box store (or large grocery). Get in and get out.

Hope something here helps!
You're right,it IS a pain in the rear lol.
I have been doing all those things since Covid started, but I had stopped taking a shower after I go out,I just change clothes.

I try to combine all of my errands I do in public either one day per week or at least put them together so I'm not going out 2 - 3 times.

I don't change out of my outer clothing if I'm working around the property, but shoes are left outside, period. I have an indoor cat, and that protects her.

I'm mostly working from home right now, so the routine isn't as bad as having to commute to work each day.

In my opinion -- and I'm nobody! -- the increase in numbers is going to break into the MSM news cycle soon.

I would encourage anyone who is still doing/wants to do top-off shopping, dental cleanings, etc., to complete those tasks as soon as possible.

If money is tight (where isn't it?) Maybe priortize the list based on what was/is in short supply, such as tp, over-the-counter meds, and so on. You know which items/tasks are the most critical for you and your family.

I'm doing a less lavish 4th of July so I have a little more for preps and gasoline.

The Fede gal delivered meds at work yesterday.
She asked me to sign for it so I politely refused, gave her a sad look, said “do I have to do that, or could you just please sign for me?”

She agreed saying, “I don’t blame you at all”

We agreed those are filthy!

I gave her a handful of Chlorox wipes to take with her on the truck because she had nothing to clean with.

Yes!
I get paid tomorrow and have a grocery run to do anyway.
And believe me!
After a 12 hr shift, on a Friday, I’d rather stick pencils in my eyes than go to the grocery

Just wait until all the hyper promiscuous gays that were vaxxed with a live small pox vaccine and have severely covid vaxx damaged immune systems show hot for the pox in 10 days.... they will of course blame the 4th of July... the timing of the mass vax clinics in NYC is quite sinister.
I think it’s going to go “hot” regardless.
It already has, actually.

Yes, please DO read through her thread, as well as Michael's, which she re-tweets...

She seems to really have her head on straight re: the threat - i.e., it's not Monkeypox per se that's the threat, it's that it may become endemic in animal reservoirs and confound the identification of Smallpox at some point - which has a very small window of opportunity to treat, most especially of the weaponized versions.

We made that point months ago...wbw I still thought it might also have been released to provide casus belli for that war with RU that they seem bound and determined to have.

Monkeypox vaccine clinic opening in Denver for high risk individuals

State health officials plan to administer 200 doses of monkeypox vaccines to high-risk individuals in the Denver metro area this weekend to help curb the spread of the disease.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment announced Wednesday that it had secured an “extremely-limited” supply of vaccines from a federal stockpile. It encourages interested individuals to register online for a spot at its pop-up clinic.

“We expect demand may outweigh supply, so we are asking the federal government for more vaccines,” said Scott Bookman, division director of CDPHE’s Disease Control and Public Health Response Division, in a press release. “But for right now, we can’t sit on this valuable tool we have to prevent spread.”

The vaccines are available to men aged 18 years and older who are gay or bisexual. Slots are also open to any men who have had multiple male sexual partners in the past 14 days, according to the release.

Anyone who believes they have been in close contact with someone who had monkeypox in the last 14 days also qualifies, the release said.

The monkeypox virus can spread through skin-to-skin contact with an infected individual. It is rarely deadly, with a fatality rate of less than one percent.

Symptoms can last up to four weeks and include fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes and exhaustion. Typically, a rash or skin bumps develop after the onset of fever, beginning on the face and spreading to other parts of the body.

The disease is endemic in central and west Africa, but has recently been spreading in parts of the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Colorado’s first positive case was detected in Denver in May. In June, CDPHE recorded at least four more cases.

At least two dozen individuals in the state have received post-exposure vaccinations so far. The two-dose vaccine is fully FDA approved, and each dose is given four weeks apart.

“Vaccination following a high-risk exposure is the best way to help prevent infection or reduce the severity of illness if someone contracts monkeypox,” said Dr. Rachel Herlihy, state epidemiologist, in the state’s release. “Our response will continue to evolve, as we expect to receive additional guidance and vaccines from the federal government.”

People hoping to attend weekend’s clinic must receive email confirmation for an appointment. Those who can’t get an appointment and think or know they have been exposed to monkeypox should contact a healthcare provider as soon as possible, according to CDPHE.

Thank you for reading through that one and posting her concerns.

Evidence of surface contamination in hospital rooms occupied by patients infected with monkeypox, Germany, June 2022

TLDR; ........................ Monkeypox virus is on everything!

"Monkeypox virus DNA was also found on the patients' room surfaces, presumably touched primarily by medical personnel."

Interesting note on top of basically everything in the room the patients were in (for 3 days, they tested on the 4th day) the door handle on the outside of the hospital room also had virus on it (in small numbers). Meaning, as far as I can tell from reading, is that the items the patients touched had the highest concentration of virus, items not touched by the patients had lower but very high levels, and areas just outside of the room (where the patient presumably did not go) had lower concentrations of the virus.

It is going to be very bad if the medical personnel are not being told how we have known for 20 years about how Monkeypox spreads, and are spreading the virus thru the entire hospital onto all the nursing stations, chart paperwork, PC's, cell phones, cafeteria, vending machines, waiting rooms, patients, visitors, drive thru burger joint on the way home, day care when they pick up the kids, etc.

It was even found outside of the contamination area!

….. but they do state that could have been from improper decontamination procedures.

I would think washing your clothes in HOT water with temperature boost would become the new protocol. I guess I'll have to go back to peeling my clothes off and throwing them in the washer first thing when I get back from the store. I take my "store shoes" off at the back door and don't wear them in the house.
My Grandmother survived the Spanish flu epidemic (she and Granddad were almost the only people in their community who didn't get it) and she washed everything in scalding water her entire life. She nursed her best friend who lived down the street and the woman died.
I wash my clothes as usual and add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer. I have been doing that since I had to use a public laundry. And now since I fly 4 times a week I do it all the time.

I really wish I would have saved these pictures, as I have not been able to find them again --

Earlier in the outbreak, one of the patients in a EU hospitals was posting on twitter about how he had just been confirmed (by positive test) to have Monkeypox, and was taking pictures of his hand and arm showing some of the blisters (which were not very bad looking yet). What stood out was that in the background you could see out the hospital door (which was open) and a very grainy someone walking by in the hall. In the other photo there was the lower half (presumably) of a nurse wearing scrubs and it looked as if she was not wearing gloves.
