Iran Protest-No. 49
On the 26th day of the nationwide uprising, the cities of Sanandaj and Divandareh witnessed demonstrations and street clashes between the youths and the regime’s suppressive forces. The shopkeepers’ strike continued in Kermanshah. In Kerman, the regime’s Red Crescent building was set on fire. The young protesters set fire to the Friday prayer office in Fuladshahr, Isfahan, and a statue symbolizing the regime in Saqqez. Large posters of Qassem Soleimani and Revolutionary Guards in Tehran were also torched. The youths set fire to a paramilitary Basij base in Qom. In Yazd, they burned the banner of Qassem Soleimani and Brig. Gen. Hossein Hamedani, and in Baneh, they burned a symbol of the regime in the Prison Square.
On Tuesday, Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi visited Sanandaj to supervise the suppression of protests in the city. On Tuesday evening, the people of Sanandaj held nightly demonstrations once again and clashed with the suppressive forces. The youths took control of Behesht Mohammadi ring road by lighting fire and forcing the agents to flee in some areas.
In Saqqez, people held demonstrations in the evening, and in Baneh, the youths obstructed the path of suppressive agents by setting up roadblocks. Drivers showed their solidarity by honking their horns. In Borazjan, demonstrations led to clashes with the suppressive forces.
