In 2023, China's 'batwoman' already warned of another coronavirus-like outbreak
Geert Vanden Bossche

Apr 30, 2024

If it weren't for my in-depth analysis of the evolutionary dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 due to mass vaccination during the pandemic, Shi Zheng-Li’s arguments would probably arm ‘them’ with enough ‘evidence’ to never acknowledge that the next coronavirus pandemic will indeed directly result from the large-scale COVID-19 (C-19) vaccination program and subsequent breakthrough infections in highly C-19 vaccinated populations!

China's 'batwoman' warns of another coronavirus-like outbreak : "However, despite the claims made by China's ‘batwoman’ and her warning regarding the outbreak of another coronavirus outbreak, other Chinese virologists dismissed the claims that the three-year-old global pandemic would recur, arguing that the increased protection that the majority of people acquired during that time may help prevent future outbreaks.”

Vaccine-induced immune dysfunction continues to sicken people
Nelly the Clever Pig
April 30, 2024

I’ve covered the inflation numbers before. Central banks don’t want to report high inflation rates. Manufacturers of products don’t want to report a price increase. So what happens instead is that your chicken soup now has half as much chicken with a bit of extra MSG added. So now there is no food inflation. This does not require Klaus Schwab tapping your PM on the shoulder at the WEF and telling him to cover up the inflation, the system intrinsically just has a tendency to conceal bad news.

But consider the excess mortality, as another example. The average moron would tell you it has been solved. It hasn’t been solved. What has happened is that countries like Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and New Zealand now have large migrant populations. A country like Canada swells its population by 2.9% in just 12 months, all from immigration.

But an immigrant is about 50% less likely to die in the first few years after migrating than others of the same age. This is called the healthy immigrant effect, it has been well established in the literature.

The reasons are easy to understand. You don’t migrate if you have terminal cancer, Down syndrome, schizophrenia, a heroin addiction, etc. Those are the sort of people who die as young adults. So if 10% of your working age adult population now consists of young adult migrants from the past four years, your excess mortality in that cohort would be about 5% below what it would otherwise be. This is not incorporated into any of the official statistics.

They are essentially just cannibalizing the developing world, importing millions of people from the smartest and most successful minority of the Indian subcontinent, to keep this whole thing going for another couple of years. If real estate prices returned to normal levels, banks would collapse.

You can see the whole problem when you look at the children. Kids between the ages of 5 and 9 are now dying at 150% the rate they were in 2020. You hear all these reports from people around you, far more people than previously suffering various illnesses. This is a consequence of everyone constantly catching SARS2.

You don’t see high numbers of hospital admissions anymore, because they now have Paxlovid, so they can prevent people from having to go to the hospital. But if you look at what’s happening to children, you see the underlying reality, of a virus getting steadily deadlier because the population is unable to develop an effective immune response against it.

So why sperg about it? It’s just a few percent, right? Maybe they reported 10% in 2022 and 9% in 2023 but it’s actually 12% in 2022 and 13% in 2023, who cares, right? Well it matters, because we want to know the underlying trend. I have explained before, that if you look in the lab, you see a virus that seems to be getting steadily more virulent.

I have also explained why this makes sense: Maybe the vaccine induced immune response does a reasonably good job at preventing severe disease, simply by reducing the intensity of the inflammatory immune response.

The problem is that this doesn’t matter for the ultimate outcome, if it fails to discriminate against virulence. As long as the population is stuck with this abnormal IgG4 antibody response to Spike, the population is spreading ever more virulent forms of SARS2.

I have already explained why that is: Those antibodies don’t target the proper epitopes and break all the mechanisms your immune system would normally use to deal with infected cells. The IgG4 antibodies don’t just tell your immune system to ignore an infected cell, they prohibit normal IgG3 and IgG1 antibodies next to them from sending the proper signal too.

As long as that continues, people continue to get sicker, with governments trying to keep the machine running by importing more foreign labor. And more importantly, we know that the vaccines have negative efficacy against infection: They make herd immunity impossible, by enabling people to suffer constant reinfections.

A lot of people are under the impression that the population’s immune response will just normalize over time, after sufficient infections from this virus. But that’s not what’s happening so far. There is just an entire demographic of people out there, the majority of adults in the world, who have received vaccines that allow their bodies to continue spreading this new SARS virus.

A study came out a few days ago, that looks at this. They looked at who got infected since the JN.1 variant became dominant in December 2023. They looked at the whole period, of 31 December 2023, until 22 April 2024.

There seemed to be some modest protection from the most recent booster. But more importantly, they looked at what people’s risk of infection was, given the number of vaccines they had received.

Here’s what they found:

1jnnegative.jpg

They adjusted these results for age, sex, propensity to get tested(!) and all the rest of it.

And it fits entirely what I previously showed, that the abnormal antibody response continues to be observed against JN.1.

Why this happens

Now I want to explain to you why this happens. We live in the pandemic era. This is what happens in a world with eight billion people, flying around the world and putting animals in cages. Viruses spread very rapidly under those conditions. I have tried to convince people, to choose a different direction. But I am just a nobody and this is just what most people want.

The SARS2 virus is not the only new virus out there. There is monkeypox killing hundreds of people in Congo and spreading among gay men around the world. There is bird flu killing hundreds of sea lions, foxes and many other animals. Completely antibiotic resistant tuberculosis is beginning to emerge.

If you received these vaccines against SARS2, those vaccines will probably make you sick. But I want you to understand, that the future we face as a species, is a very bleak one. You should essentially think of receiving these vaccines as a signal that you belong in the old world. You belong in the world of growth, of material progress, of hard work and peaceful cooperation. You believe in science, so you belong in the era of science.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with that. But that world is coming to an end and so you have to accept that the future we face is so bleak that you’re not really missing out on something that you would enjoy. I doubt I will see a lot of it myself and I don’t plan on having children who will have to see it.

All of us are ultimately one consciousness. You are me, I am you, we are the pigs with mutilated bodies living in cages, we are the chickens in cages, we are the wild birds flying through the air, we are the abandoned pigeons descended from our old carrier pigeons, we are sweatshop workers in Bangladesh, we’re all the school shooters, all the homeless heroin addicts, if they have souls then we are the billionaires on yachts too, we’re everything that can experience something.

But some aspects of human consciousness fit into a different time period than other aspects of human consciousness. African pygmies who were brought to the United States found life there so intolerable, they wanted to die. If you received these COVID vaccines, then you have to understand that the world that is emerging right now is just not a world that most of you would enjoy.

That’s fine. It doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. It doesn’t mean you did something wrong. The entire Western upper class, all the politicians, they all signed up for these vaccines that have horribly backfired and damaged people’s immune systems too. Those people are part of the old world too.

The problem is that this is the reality of the world we live in right now:

1biomass1.png

Those are all the mammals and birds on our planet by weight.

This is not a sustainable situation, so it’s going to be addressed by nature. Nature is going to create a new world, with far fewer humans and far fewer of the animals that we have domesticated.

If you are afraid of this global transition and if you can read this, then I am really begging you, to please take a good high dose of Psilocybe mushrooms and break through the illusion of individuality.

Please just see it. Please just see that you are everything.

I said this all the way back in March 2020 too, when the elderly were so afraid that they were locking us all up in our homes: Please just take a good high dose of Psilocybe mushrooms and really look at a tree.

Look, I don’t wish suffering on people. Nature just tries to solve our situation, in the best way that it can. We as humans are able to solve our situation in ways that involve less suffering. But we are not really choosing those solutions, so nature is forced to use its own solutions for our situation.

There is going to be bird flu in humans too. We are essentially powerless to prevent that. It’s spreading in multiple mammal species in recent months. Eventually it’s our turn.

Vaccines won’t work against the bird flu either, nor will masks. The virus enters your body through your eyes, then it spreads in the endothelial cells in your brain. Most of the antibodies can not reach past the blood-brain barrier.

The only thing that’s really going to help protect people against the bird flu is cross-reactive innate immunity developed from SARS2 infections. NK cells and dendritic cells migrate into the brain, then they also protect people against other viruses. Microglial cells in the brain are also thought to be able to turn into dendritic cells. This is a process that unfolds over many infections, it’s akin to training a muscle. The endothelial cells themselves also have an innate immune system that is trained by these SARS2 infections.

It’s not easy to train endothelial cells in the brain, or to get NK cells to migrate into the brain. And it’s not exactly pleasant either, there is a cost involved in having these immunological modifications in the brain. NK cells in the brain release acetylcholine, that seems to make people feel more anxious.

When I was a child, nobody really wanted to address the problem of ecological overshoot. There was success in saving the whales, in stopping acid rain, in healing the ozone layer. There was some effort to stop climate change too. But already, you saw widespread resistance among politicians and the general population. The costs to stop the climate problem were just too big for most people to accept.

But the climate problem, was just one of many problems that were associated with the root cause: Ecological overshoot. Nobody really bothered to address the problem of ecological overshoot. Generations of African women grew up without anticonception, they were married as teenagers as second or third wives to elderly men. What was really done to solve this problem? Not much.

Up until 1991, you could argue we were just too occupied with the fight against communism. But why did nothing really happen afterwards? In my country, the farmers all knew there would be a huge nitrogen problem, that there were far too many farm animals in my country. But nothing was really done about it, the government just kept coming up with excuses, to kick the can down the hall.

On behalf of the elderly, the governments fight a continual war on drugs. But if people had access to mescaline cactuses, to psilocybe mushrooms, to cannabis, they would have chosen very different lifestyles. Why do people spend every day traveling to work in their cars, stuck in traffic for hours? Do they not see the insanity of what they do?

Some of you are not very smart, you look at the evidence of the Earth warming four degree by 2100 and think “who cares, 2100 is far away”. Well, first of all, four degree of warming is almost eight degree Celsius on land. The parts of our world where humans live will warm most rapidly, in part due to the urban heat island effect.

Second, nature just will not let it get to that point. That’s important to understand. These problems are all going to escalate, long before the Amazon forest dies. You will not just consume this planet to send some drones to other planets.

If you are afraid of death, my recommendation is as following: Find something you love so much that you would happily die for it. Well, for me that is everywhere. I see beauty all around me.

Maybe you want to see more of the world, you want to see how everything unfolds around us.

There’s no inherent obligations to see it all. And there is no magical AI singularity around the corner to save humans from their own choices either. The laws of physics inherently favor biological intelligence.

But if you want to see more of it all, there are some things I can recommend.

-Take cannabidiol, ideally vaporized from cannabis flowers, if you received the vaccines. This will help get rid of the excessive SARS2 directed T cells building up in your lungs, that undermine your response to other pathogens.

-Eat a plant based diet.

-Eat Natto daily. The enzymes will break down amyloid in your blood. The fermented soybeans help heal your endothelial cells too. Serrapeptase may help too.

-You can take cannabis with THC, to break up the amyloid fibrils in your brain. This exposes them to enzymes that break them down, both your own enzymes and those from bacteria in your gut (like the Natto bacteria).

-Exercise regularly, use the leg press and push weights above your head. Go jogging.

-Make sure you are not vitamin D deficient.

-Chew raw Salvia Divinorum leaves in a dark room, this will reduce inflammation in your brain and it will heal your endothelium.

-Take small doses of Psilocybe mushrooms, this massages your blood vessels.

-Take a sauna from time to time.

You will think I am hysterical. But I constantly see these people who say SARS2 is a nothingburger, saying that they suddenly caught some cold virus and now they have difficulty exercising, because their heart suddenly beats too fast.

Well, that happens for a reason. We’re in a transition period.

Could bird flu cause a human pandemic?
Here’s what’s worrying experts right now about H5N1’s spread among dairy cows — and what isn’t.

By Keren Landman, MD
Apr 30, 2024, 12:10pm EDT

Last year, when an H5N1 avian flu virus — commonly known as bird flu — was spilling over from bird populations into a variety of wild mammals, Seema Lakdawala, a virologist and influenza A transmission specialist at Emory University, was “not overly concerned” about human risk. We don’t have “much of an interface with seals or with foxes, for that matter, or polar bears,” she says.

But when it comes to cows, that interface is vast. People on dairy farms regularly interact with cows and their milk; when the animals and their milk are infected with a virus that can cause disease in humans, and that mutates constantly, each of those interactions functions as an opportunity for the virus to workshop its adaptability. Now, says Lakdawala, “I am more concerned than I have been, and it’s not for the general public — it is for dairy workers.”

The H5N1 outbreak among cows on 34 dairy farms in nine states has so far led to only one very mild human infection. However, the virus was likely spreading among cows for months before it was detected. Lakdawala’s greatest concern is that this highly changeable virus has now arrived at an important point of human-animal convergence, and that we are not prepared.

For a virus to cause a human pandemic, it has to have three important characteristics, say flu experts. It has to cause human disease; it has to be something our immune systems haven’t encountered before; and it must spread easily among humans, especially through the air. The latest events do not yet demonstrate that H5N1 has new capacities in any of these categories. However, they hint that the virus has the machinery to evolve those capacities — and that it could do so before we know it.

In dairy cows, H5N1 has found an excellent laboratory for evolving traits dangerous to humans

Although Lakdawala was concerned when mink, seals, and other mammals were infected with H5N1 last year and the year before, cows are different. An outbreak among “mammals with a large interface with humans” is a red flag to her.

It’s a numbers game. Although all viruses mutate routinely, flu viruses are particularly good at shapeshifting and can even swap entire chunks of genetic material with other flu viruses if an animal is co-infected with more than one of them. These mutations happen randomly, and most don’t make the viruses more dangerous to humans — but it’s entirely realistic to imagine that some occasionally do. If that occasionally human-threatening mutation happens to a flu virus that has infected, say, a wild fox, it doesn’t pose a particularly high risk of causing a pandemic among humans. After all, few wild foxes have contact with humans. If it happens in a cow, however, there are far more opportunities for the virus to effectively workshop its new features.

People who work on dairy farms are constantly interacting with cows and their milk — they check udders, hook and unhook milking machines, and perform other tasks to care for the animals. That puts them in lots of contact with any virus infecting the cows. If the virus were one that didn’t infect and kill people or that doesn’t mutate and adapt as easily as the flu does, perhaps it wouldn’t be as concerning — but H5N1 does infect people at close proximity to animals, and at least half of the more than 900 people who’ve been infected with the virus since it came on the scene in 1996 have died.

“There is a high viral load in milk of these infected cows, and so it is a concern to me in terms of spillover [from] cows into workers,” says Lakdawala. “And the more often the virus has an attempt to spill over, the more likely it is to adapt.”

We already know the virus is adapting in mammals, she says. “The more spillover events, the more attempts that the virus has to find a successful variant that can take off or infect the human — and then one infected individual, three infected individuals, go home” to their families, where they could potentially spread the virus further.

It’s not a pandemic right now, she says, but now is the time to act to reduce the opportunities for spillover events.

For the first time, we have proof of H5N1 spreading among a mammalian species

When a virus leaps from one species into another, that’s not usually enough to cause a large outbreak. You could look at H5N1’s history: Although the virus has leapt from animals into people hundreds of times, it has very rarely spread among people. When infections effectively stop spreading once they cross species lines, the non-transmitting species is called a “dead-end host.”

Birds readily transmit H5N1 to other birds, but until recently, scientists have thought mammals getting infected with H5N1 were dead-end hosts. In the past couple of years, they’ve had some sneaking suspicion that minks and other mammals getting infected with the virus were spreading it among themselves — but they never had definitive proof. That is, they couldn’t rule out the possibility that all the animals had gotten infected by eating bits of the same sick bird, or through another so-called “common source” exposure.

It’s much harder to contain a pathogen’s spread within a species if members of that species can transmit it to each other. What the dairy cow outbreak shows for the first time is that mammals can indeed now infect each other with H5N1 — and can do it efficiently.

“Genetic data and epidemiologic data are all quite strongly suggesting that these viruses are getting transmitted in some way between these cows,” says Louise Moncla, a veterinary pathobiologist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine whose team has analyzed genetic data from infected cows that the US government recently made available.

This virus’s mode of transmission isn’t apparent yet — and it matters

It’s not yet clear how the virus is being spread through and between dairy cow herds. High viral loads in cows’ udders and in their unpasteurized milk make it possible that contact with contaminated milking machines is doing most of the transmission. However, it’s also possible the virus is spreading through the fecal-oral route or through contaminated air; the latter would be particularly concerning because it’s so much harder to prevent. (Moncla notes that while the classic genetic fingerprint for a bird flu’s ability to spread through air between mammals is absent from this strain of H5N1, that doesn’t mean we’ve ruled out respiratory spread.)

Regardless of exactly how H5N1 is spreading among cows, the significance that they’re transmitting the virus to each other is clear to flu experts: If the virus has adapted to spread among one mammalian species, it raises the specter that it can also adapt to spread among humans.

There is a precedent for flu viruses to spread from livestock to humans, leading to a pandemic: The H1N1 flu outbreak began when a flu virus spread from pigs to humans. It caused far less death than expected through a stroke of luck — because the virus had similarities to strains that circulated in the first few decades of the 20th century, many older adults still had some flu immunity left over from childhood infections.

If H5N1 develops the ability to spread among humans, it would be a novel infection to most immune systems, giving us much less protection from old flu infections. There are “no signs of that [ability] so far in the cattle sequences,” says Andrew Pekosz, a virologist who studies respiratory virus biology at Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health. “That’s a good thing.”

Still, because we don’t know much about how influenza A viruses like H5N1 behave in cows, we don’t yet know what cautionary measures will do the most to slow their spread. In 2011, scientists learned that the influenza D virus causes respiratory illness in cattle. However, not all flu viruses are created equal: “I did not ever anticipate seeing an influenza A in cattle,” says Lakdawala.

While influenza D infections don’t appear to cause much disease in humans, influenza A viruses very much do: All of the past global flu pandemics have been caused by influenza A viruses.

Because this is such an unusual event, says Moncla, “we know very little about how flu replicates and transmits in cows.” That makes it hard to quickly design and implement precautions to prevent the virus from spreading to the people who handle them.

“What would calm me down is if we started implementing interventions that would mitigate the presence of the virus and its transmission amongst cattle, and spilling over into humans,” says Lakdawala. “Say, okay: Every dairy farm worker is gonna wear a face shield,” she said.

It would help to know whether cows that are infected but asymptomatic have infectious virus in their milk, and whether they can transmit virus to each other, says Pekosz. Ongoing studies by academics and federal agencies should help answer those questions.

Here’s why you shouldn’t panic

At the moment, there are more “coulds” than “ares” with H5N1: Although the virus is showing that it could adapt further to spread among humans, so far it hasn’t; and while it’s reasonable to conduct studies to ensure pasteurization works against this particular strain of H5N1, there’s no reason to think it won’t.

It’s also worth noting that according to the USDA spokesperson, the virus has so far not caused severe disease or death in the cows it has infected — they’ve all recovered with supportive care. In that way, this outbreak is very different from the ones we’ve seen in some other mammals.

Furthermore, testing at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has already demonstrated that existing antiviral medications are effective at preventing human infections with this strain of H5N1 and that two existing candidate vaccines could be used to rapidly scale up mass production of human vaccines against this virus if needed.

So for now, the general public shouldn’t be overly concerned about the virus, says Pekosz. “Scientists are … working extra overtime for this. But the general public should still feel safe.”

US to test ground beef in states with dairy cows infected with bird flu. What to know.
Julia Gomez and Mike Snider, USA TODAY
Tue, April 30, 2024, 4:37 PM EDT

The U.S. government says it will begin testing samples of ground beef at stores in states with outbreaks of bird flu in dairy cows.

Federal officials are looking to verify the safety of beef and milk after 34 dairy cattle herds in nine states and one person in Texas tested positive for the H5N1 virus since late March.

Although testing is ongoing, the overall public health risk is low, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization said. But those who were exposed to infected animals are at a higher risk.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture "is confident that the meat supply is safe," agency spokesperson Shilo Weir told USA TODAY in an email Tuesday. The agency's "rigorous meat inspection process" involves having veterinarians "at all federal livestock slaughter facilities," Weird said.

Last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said that fragments of the virus were found in samples of pasteurized milk, but officials weren't concerned about danger to humans from drinking store-bought milk.

The milk that tested positive came from a limited number of tests that were done on milk from grocery stores. Now the FDA is conducting further analysis and teaming up with the USDA, the CDC and other state partners to investigate further.

Here's what consumers should know about the virus.

Why are officials testing ground beef?

While there's no known case of bird flu virus being found in ground beef, the USDA will begin testing ground beef at stores in states where dairy cows have been found to have bird flu. The samples will be analyzed by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service using tests that detect "whether any viral particles are present," the agency said.

Two other safety studies will be conducted, as well, because some dairy cows are processed into ground beef when they grow old. The Food Safety and Inspection Service will collect muscle samples from dairy cattle being at slaughter facilities, and those samples will also undergo tests.

The agency will do additional testing for live virus on any positive tests from muscle samples and retail ground beef, and do cooking studies of ground beef to determine what temperatures are needed to kill the virus, the USDA says.

Can you get bird flu from drinking infected milk at grocery stores?

Officials previously told USA TODAY that Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, or HPAI, was present, the pasteurization process works to inactivate viruses and that results don't indicate that the virus is infectious.

"To date, we have seen nothing that would change our assessment that the commercial milk supply is safe," said the USDA in a statement.

What is pasteurization?

According to the USDA, it is the process that "kills harmful bacteria and viruses by heating milk to a specific temperature for a set period of time to make milk safer."

If the virus is detected in unpasteurized milk, the USDA expects the process will still "eliminate pathogens" so it doesn't pose a risk to people's health.

The FDA requires that anything labeled and sold as milk across state borders must be pasteurized, the CDC says.

Which states are affected?

Nine states have confirmed cases of the virus in dairy cows, the USDA says.
  • Colorado
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Michigan
  • New Mexico
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • South Dakota
  • Texas

Is it safe to eat eggs and chicken because of bird flu concerns?

You should avoid foods such as unpasteurized milk, cheeses made from unpasteurized milk, and raw and undercooked eggs, poultry, and meat, said Barbara Kowalcyk, associate professor of exercise and nutrition sciences at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health.

Those foods and fish can carry foodborne pathogens – bacteria, viruses, parasites, toxins – that can make people ill, she said.

"Be sure to cook raw meat, poultry, fish, eggs and milk thoroughly before feeding them to yourself or your family," Kowalcyk said. "Color and consistency are not good indicators of doneness so it is best to use a digital, tip-sensitive food thermometer."

Check for recommended food temperatures on the Department of Health and Human Services website.

"It is also recommended that people avoid direct contact with infected live or dead animals or surfaces contaminated by them," Kowalcyk said. "It is advised to use personal protective equipment if you must come in contact with infected live or dead animals."

Bird flu causes blindness in cats that drank milk from infected cows at Texas dairy farm - sparking fears the virus is evolving

By Peter Hess For Dailymail.Com
Published: 12:20 EDT, 30 April 2024 | Updated: 12:41 EDT, 30 April 2024
  • More than half of the cats at a dairy farm died within 3 days of being infected
  • Farmers first noticed that cows were producing strange milk - and less of it
  • Cats infected with H5N1 went blind, lost coordination, and started circling

About two dozen farm cats were stricken with H5N1 bird flu after drinking milk from infected cows, leaving some blind and killing more than half.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the cases this week, revealing at least 24 cats on a Texas farm experienced depressed mental states, body stiffness, loss of coordination, blindness, circling, and excessive mucous from their eyes and noses.

A necropsy of the dead animals, some that died in as little as two days after they fell ill, revealed the virus had spread to their lungs, brains, hearts, and eyes.

Researchers said the infections on the Texas dairy farm raises more concerns about how bird flu is evolving as it jumps from mammal to mammal.

'While it’s unlikely that people would become infected with bird flu viruses through contact with an infected wild, stray, feral, or domestic cat, it is possible—especially if there is prolonged and unprotected exposure to the animal,' the CDC shared in the announcement.

'Sick animals may be able to transmit influenza virus to people in their saliva, feces or droppings, and other body fluids.'

The CDC obtained the bodies of two cats, as well as samples of milk from the cows.

The agency also examined tissue samples from six of the cows that had died - three were euthanized, and three had died from their illness.

Testing revealed that all of the animals had been infected with H5N1 bird flu. Specifically, they had the kind designated 2.3.4.4b, a highly pathogenic variety that killed a dolphin in Florida recently.

In the cats, scientists found some hemorrhaging in the back of their skulls, as well as brain hemorrhaging. Otherwise, though, the animals looked normal.

The examination revealed that the cats had microscopic lesions in their brains, lungs, and hearts.

Pictures taken of the cats at the farm show the animals drinking milk from a designated bowl, as well as directly from teh cow.

Following the felines' deaths, the CDC also tested the cows, finding puzzling symptoms as well.

Some of them that died were producing normal milk before they succumbed to illness, and some of the cows had tiny lesions in their mammary glands - an unusual symptom.

H5N1 has been spreading among cattle in the US recently.

Bird flu has surged in cows and chickens throughout the US, with animals in 29 farms across eight states becoming affected, according to the CDC.

The situation has gotten so serious that Dr Darin Detwiler, former FDA and USDA food safety advisor, told DailyMail.com that Americans should avoid rare meat and runny eggs while the outbreak in cattle was ongoing, as improperly cooked animal products are more likely to carry viruses and bacteria.

Avian influenza A(H5N1) first emerged in 1996 but since 2020, the number of outbreaks in birds has grown exponentially, alongside an increase in the number of infected mammals.

The strain has led to the deaths of tens of millions of poultry, with wild birds and land and marine mammals also infected.

Earlier this month, a dairy farm worker in Texas became the second-ever American to become infected with bird flu. The CDC states that the patient had a 'mild' infection with just one symptom - inflammation of the eye - and has reported to be isolated and 'recovering well.'

They are also being treated with the drug oseltamivir, or Tamiflu, and are not thought to have passed the virus on to anyone else.

Dr Wenqing Zhang, head of the WHO's global influenza program, said: 'The case in Texas is the first case of a human infected by avian influenza by a cow.'

There is no evidence that bird flu is spreading among humans.

But scientists and public health experts have expressed concern that it could happen.

Mutations to viral DNA can make it easier for a virus to jump hosts, as has happened with other viral pandemics like COVID-19.

For now, experts advise fully cooking chicken and beef products, and absolutely avoiding raw (unpasteurized) milk.

More than half of cats died after drinking raw milk from bird flu-infected cows
healthwatch

Updated on: April 30, 2024 5:40 PM EDT

More than half of cats around the first Texas dairy farm to test positive for bird flu this spring died after drinking raw milk from the infected cows, scientists reported this week, offering a window into a toll the virus has taken during its unprecedented spread through the cattle industry.

The report, published Tuesday in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Emerging Infectious Diseases journal, chronicles the early investigation by veterinarians and academic laboratories into a disease that started spreading through cows across the region earlier this year.

Cats at the Texas farm had been fed raw milk from cows that turned out to be infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza, or HPAI H5N1. A day after the farm first started noticing cows were getting sick, the cats started getting sick too. By the end, more than half of the cats had died.

"The cats were found dead with no apparent signs of injury and were from a resident population of [approximately] 24 domestic cats that had been fed milk from sick cows," the scientists wrote.

Tests of the samples collected from the brains and lungs of dead cats yielded results suggesting "high amounts of virus." Autopsies of the cats also revealed "microscopic lesions consistent with severe systemic virus infection," they said, including to the eye and brain.

Around 1 in 5 samples of milk the Food and Drug Administration checked from U.S. retailers tested positive for H5N1, though the agency said last week that studies so far show that pasteurization is working to kill off the virus in milk; only harmless fragments remained. Officials have repeatedly urged Americans not to drink raw milk.

While the spread of the virus from cows to cats through raw milk is new, cats have long been known to scientists as one of the species especially vulnerable to severe disease from H5N1.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has said that deaths and neurological disease in cats have been "widely reported" around farms with outbreaks of the virus.

By contrast, only a fraction of cows — up to 15% —developed signs of illness in herds with the infection, the scientists said. Officials have said that cows largely recover within a month after their infections. The virus has been devastating for poultry flocks that faced widespread deaths or had to be culled after contracting the virus from wild birds.

Previous research has linked deaths and neurological disorders in domestic cats to H5N1 infections. An earlier study published by the CDC journal from Thailand back in 2006 suspected a cat had contracted the virus after eating an infected pigeon.

But the recent infections prompted the CDC this month to issue new guidance for veterinarians treating suspect H5N1 cases in cats, urging stepped up measures like donning respirators and goggles to avoid contracting the virus.

"While it's unlikely that people would become infected with bird flu viruses through contact with an infected wild, stray, feral, or domestic cat, it is possible — especially if there is prolonged and unprotected exposure to the animal," the agency said in its guidance.

Some cases in humans have also been suspected to have been caused by consumption of infected birds, like in Cambodia earlier this year.

Meanwhile, authorities have been racing to curb further spread of the virus in dairy cattle, which is believed to have been spreading from cow-to-cow since a single initial spillover from wild birds earlier this year.

"Ingestion of feed contaminated with feces from wild birds infected with HPAI virus is presumed to be the most likely initial source of infection in the dairy farms," the scientists wrote.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Monday it would test ground beef sold at retailers for H5N1 and would study how cooking beef could curb potential risk posed by the virus, in the wake of an earlier order ramping up testing on dairy cattle being shipped over state lines.

It is unclear whether any ground beef samples have so far tested positive for the virus. Results "are forthcoming" and will be shared when available, the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, over 2,000 tests have been run by the department so far this month from cattle.

"As of April 30, 34 dairy herds have been impacted by H5N1. For context, there are more than 26,000 dairy herds nationwide," the spokesperson said in a statement.

Florida dolphin dies of 'mutated' bird flu that is 18 TIMES more resistant to drug treatment
By Peter Hess For Dailymail.Com
Published: 12:16 EDT, 29 April 2024 | Updated: 12:19 EDT, 29 April 2024
  • The dolphin was acting strangely, but it was dead by the time rescuers arrived
  • Its brain and lungs showed evidence of infection with H5N1, a type of bird flu
  • This is the first known case of a bottlenose dolphin being infected with bird flu

A bottlenose dolphin in Florida has become one of the latest mammals to die from bird flu, according to a new report.

Scientists from the University of Florida found this particular bird flu victim after they were notified of a dolphin that appeared to be in distress, but a necropsy following its death revealed it contracted a highly deadly strain.

The team discovered the virus in the mammal's brain and lungs, which had mutated to become 18 times more resistant to current drug treatments.

Farmed poultry and wild birds in the US have been falling victim to highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses since the end of 2021, but recently it has begun spilling over into cows and other mammals.

As researchers performed their necropsy of the dolphin, they identified inflammation in and around its brain and spinal cord.

After the dolphin had tested negative for other infections that can cause this kind of inflammation, they found bird flu antigen and RNA in its brain and lungs

Specifically, the dolphin was infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza A (H5N1) virus of HA clade 2.3.4.4b.

They found some evidence of the virus in the lungs, but most of it was in the brain and the tissue that covers the brain and spinal cord.

This group of bird flus, called 2.3.4.4b A(H5N1), has been blamed for killing sea lions in Peru and Chile, as well as harbor and gray seals in New England and Canada.

Though it's not exactly common for bird flu to kill seals and sea lions, it is not considered rare.

For cetaceans (the group including dolphins and whales), however, bird flu is rare.

There has been a recent spread of 2.3.4.4b A(H5N1) among cetaceans, wrote the report authors.

It's been found in common dolphins in Peru, Wales, and England, two harbor porpoises in Sweden and England, and an Atlantic white-sided dolphin in Canada.

These cases have been few and far between, so t's unclear exactly how the bottlenose dolphin got infected in the Florida case.

Shortly before the Florida dolphin died, there had been a bird die-off in the area that experts linked to HPAI.

However, genetic testing showed that the flu causing local bird outbreaks did not share the exact genetics with the one that killed the dolphin.

Genetic testing determined that the virus had not undergone any mutations that would make it more likely to spread to and infect other mammals.

Researchers did find, however, that this dolphin's particular H5N1 strain had genetic changes that made it 18 times more resistant to one of the antiviral drugs used to treat bird flu.

The dolphin in question was first spotted at the end of March 2022, but the case report, published in the journal Communications Biology, did not appear until this month.

The team's report marks the first known instance of influenza A in a common bottlenose dolphin, adding to the body of evidence that the virus is spreading among mammals.

Two weeks ago, 18 US states quarantined cattle after reports of bird flu among the animals.

And in New York, multiple wild bird species have tested positive for H5N1 specifically.

It seems that dolphins and whales get infected differently than other animals, with the virus affecting their brain more than their respiratory system like the lungs and bronchioles.

'Overall, more research is needed to determine the true susceptibility and route of exposure of influenza viruses in cetaceans,' wrote the scientists behind the new study.

It's possible, they concluded, that some cases have been missed because of the unique way the infection shows up in these animals:

'Since cetaceans were previously thought to have low susceptibility to influenza viral infections, this study emphasizes the importance of routinely testing for [highly pathogenic avian influenza] viruses in all mammals and obtaining proper samples, including brain, during postmortem examinations.'

Last two articles on Bird Flu were alarming. When do we stop drinking milk?
We only use ultra pasteurized organic milk, half and half and cream products..it is heated to a higher...temp.(280F)..than pasteurized milk..(160F)

They don't indicate which type of pasteurized milk that have the fragments...but most milk is not ultra pasteurized....so my guess is they are using the most common.. milk
If you are worried you could go on more different antivirals...or up the ones you are using... even preventative IVM....is an option

Last two articles on Bird Flu were alarming. When do we stop drinking milk?

How is the milk tested for Bird Flu? PCR test? 30 cycles, or more?

Do they want us to stop drinking milk? eta: Do they have a reason or agenda to reduce the cattle industry? Has such ever been stated?

Are they ramping up the reports for food safety, or perhaps some other reason?

Is it due to Bird Flu, or is Bird Flu due to them wanting something else? Does it align with some agenda?

Like, no cow farts and everybody enjoying a warm-n-juicy bug burger?

Just wondering.

The Carnivore movement seems to have picked up a lot of momentum the past couple years. People claim they're healthier than in decades - autoimmune diseases in remission - weight comes off - clearer minds and good sleep, etc. etc. Many of them focus on ruminant meat only. Mostly Beef, from what I've seen.

Like I said, it's an interesting question (to me, at least).

GOP wants research group barred from federal funding over COVID work with Wuhan

Nathaniel Weixel - The Hill
Wed, May 1, 2024, 3:16 PM EDT

A key House committee investigating the origins of COVID-19 wants a scientific research group to be barred from receiving federal funds and criminally investigated over its president’s work with a lab in Wuhan, China.

A GOP staff report released Wednesday from the majority in the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic found that EcoHealth Alliance used U.S. taxpayer dollars to facilitate high-risk research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), the Chinese lab at the center of the lab leak theory.

The report said the organization’s president Peter Daszak failed to report that research to the federal government, in violation of the terms of its grant from the National Institutes of Health.

“Given Dr. Daszak’s apparent contempt for the American people and disregard for legal reporting requirements, the Select Subcommittee recommends the formal debarment of and a criminal investigation into EcoHealth and its president,” the report stated.

The committee issued the report ahead of a hearing, where Daszak defended himself from accusations that he has been uncooperative in the investigation and tried to cover up evidence that the SARS-CoV-2 virus came from a Chinese lab.

Daszak repeatedly maintained he did not conduct “gain of function” research, which enhances a virus’s ability to cause an infection in order to predict pandemics and develop cures. Gain-of-function research isn’t illegal, but Republicans have been calling for it to be banned as they try to directly tie gain-of-function research in Wuhan to the COVID-19 pandemic .

“Dr. Daszak either cannot or will not distinguish between the common understanding of gain-of-function research and the more technical definitions provided under various and narrowly defined regulatory frameworks,” subcommittee chairman Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) said.

Wenstrup added that Daszak “has displayed a disregard for the risks associated with gain-of-function research, stonewalled the Congressional oversight process, and willfully violated the federal grant process.”

Republicans said experiments EcoHealth Alliance was conducting in 2019 made the SARS-CoV-2 virus stronger and more pathogenic.

Members from both parties grilled Daszak and appeared skeptical of his answers on gain-of-function.

Democrats focused on the safety of the research, as well as organization’s compliance with federal funding rules.

In a separate report also released Wednesday, Democrats said internal documents “raise reasonable questions” about EcoHealth getting any future taxpayer funding.

EcoHealth “potentially misled the federal government on multiple occasions in both their transparency obligations and reporting requirements as recipients of federal grant funding — raising serious questions about their overall commitment to the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars,” said Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-Calif.) the top Democrat on the panel.

Still, Democrats made clear they did not think Daszak and EcoHealth caused the pandemic.

In combative back-and-forth questioning, Daszak said lawmakers and the respective counsels for both parties were misinterpreting his research. Frequently talking over members asking questions, Daszak defended his work, saying it’s been the target of misinformation.

Daszak said his family as well as EcoHealth staff have been harassed and received death threats.

In March 2020, Daszak signed onto a letter to “strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that Covid-19 does not have a natural origin.”

Under questioning from Ruiz and others, Daszak said he doesn’t think it’s a conspiracy theory to suggest a lab leak but still believes the virus has a natural origin.

“I categorically condemn the threats you and other scientists or public health officials have received due to extreme accusations like we’ve heard from some of my colleagues,” Ruiz said, but pushed Daszak as to why he helped write the statement when he had a financial interest in tamping down scrutiny on the Wuhan lab.

Both Ruiz and Wenstrup said they felt Daszak was dodging difficult questions.

“Your responses here are unsatisfactory,” Ruiz told Daszak at the hearing’s conclusion. “You are explaining things to your convenience to avoid consequences.”

How is the milk tested for BF? PCR test? 30 cycles, or more?

Do they want us to stop drinking milk?

Like I said, it's an interesting question (to me, at least).

It's an interesting question to me too. I think it serves multiple purposes. Ramp up the fear, plant the idea that BF is out there as the next scary monster waiting under the bed so if it does go human to human (naturally or not-so-naturally) the public is ready for it , expecting it even, and the countermeasures that are sure to come. I'm going to post an article about the new flu vaccines they are getting ready for example. More people have taken the flu vaccine than the covid boosters showing a willingness to take a flu vaccine over a covid one. hmm. .. should be an easy sell.

But like you said, it also follows some dark agenda with all the food plants being coincidentally blown up limiting access to all that food. Now they are telling people not to drink milk, not to eat beef. It's very sinister imho. I'm not stopping either of them, milk or beef. They have food regulations for a reason, they pasteurize milk for a reason, you don't ear meat raw for a reason, etc. And that reason should fit for any active, infectious part of a virus in the food too. vs a strand of dna that we don't know how they measured it or whether or not in can do anything other than represent that is was once part of an infectious virus. Not a scientist, I suppose they can gain of function a virus to withstand high temperature but that sounds really difficult and I really don't think they've done that yet. :shr:

Two possible bird flu vaccines could be available within weeks, if needed
The H5N1 virus has infected at least 36 herds across nine states, raising the risk of potential human spread, federal health officials said Wednesday.

May 1, 2024, 7:02 PM UTC
By Berkeley Lovelace Jr.

The U.S. has two vaccines ready should the strain of bird flu circulating in dairy cows begin spreading easily to people, federal health officials said Wednesday. They could begin shipping doses widely within weeks, if needed.

So far, there’s no evidence that H5N1 is spreading person-to-person, although one dairy worker in Texas who worked closely with infected cattle had a mild infection and developed conjunctivitis, or pinkeye, in April.

At a briefing Wednesday, government health officials said they are preparing for a potential scenario of H5N1 jumping from animal to person — or person to person. The virus has taken off in dairy cows, infecting at least 36 herds across nine states, raising concerns that it could acquire mutations that would make it easier to spill over into humans.

Studies “suggest that the vaccines will offer good cross-protection against cattle outbreak viruses,” Demetre Daskalakis, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said on the call Wednesday.

Both of the vaccine candidates are already in the nation’s stockpile in limited quantities, officials said in a previous interview.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also said Wednesday that it is testing blood samples from people previously vaccinated with an influenza vaccine to see if it generates an immune response, although it didn’t say which vaccine.

Dawn O’Connell, assistant secretary for preparedness and response at the Department of Health and Human Services, told NBC News earlier there are hundreds of thousands of prefilled syringes and vials ready to ship, if needed.

“We’ve been investing in a library of antigens to move out as quickly as possible should we begin to see a highly transmissible flu strain circulate,” O’Connell said.

H5N1 doesn’t transmit easily between people, although global health officials remain concerned due to its high mortality rate, which hovers around 50%, according to the World Health Organization.

There are no signs the virus is mutating to be more transmissible between people, officials said Wednesday.

Vivien Dugan, who heads the CDC's influenza division, said that the government would begin looking at vaccination if there were alterations in the virus’s genetic code that would affect its existing countermeasures. It currently has a number of antiviral medications in supply that target influenza viruses, including Tamiflu.

The people needing vaccination — and the number of doses that the U.S. would require — would hinge on how the virus changes and how widespread the outbreak becomes, experts say.

Right now, there are over 100 people, most of whom work with farm animals, being monitored for signs of infection, officials said.

Preparation underway

Should the U.S. need the vaccines, the federal government could ship out “hundreds of thousands of doses” within a few weeks, O’Connell said.

It could have over 100 million doses shipped within three to four months.

Health officials expect that people will need two doses of that vaccine, O’Connell added, meaning 100 million doses is only enough for 50 million people.

Again, given this is a hypothetical, it’s possible the U.S. may not need that many vaccines. But it could also produce more, if needed, O’Connell said.

They are produced using traditional vaccine technology that has been the standard approach to vaccines for decades. However, the process can take months.

O’Connell said the U.S. is also pursuing a third vaccine based on the same mRNA-technology used in Pfizer’s and Moderna’s Covid vaccines. She added that an mRNA vaccine could be quicker to manufacture because “you can switch in and switch out the genetic sequencing very easily.”

All three vaccines would also need approval from the Food and Drug Administration before they can be distributed across the U.S.

In a statement, the FDA said it is “actively engaged” with other federal health agencies in assessing pandemic influenza vaccine candidates should the need for a vaccine arise.

A number of unknowns

Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease expert at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, said having vaccine candidates on hand is important because it reduces the time needed to get the shots in people’s arms.

During the 2009 H1N1 swine flu pandemic, researchers eventually developed a vaccine to prevent the spread of the virus, but by the time the shots were manufactured and ready to be distributed, the outbreak had already petered out, he said.

“It’s very good that we have reduced the time necessary to create a vaccine by having candidates already available, should they be needed,” he said.

Despite the government having two vaccine candidates, there are still a number of questions, including how much protection the shots would provide against infection and severe illness, said Dr. Judith O’Donnell, director of infection prevention and control at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia.

“There’s a lot we don’t know about these candidate vaccines and how they’ll work,” she said.

The U.S. has contracts with three manufacturers for pandemic influenza vaccines: GlaxoSmithKline, CSL Seqirus and Sanofi. One of the vaccine candidates is from CSL Sequirus.

A spokesperson for CSL Seqirus said the company has no data available on vaccine effectiveness because the number of human cases of H5N1 is too low for studies.

However, a phase 2 study testing a vaccine that targets a virus closely related to H5N1 shows that it generates a promising immune response and should “cross-react with the H5N1 viruses currently circulating in cattle in the U.S,” the spokesperson said.

O’Connell said the government has a number of potential adjuvants, substances added to vaccines to boost the immune response, that could be used if needed.

During the pandemic, the virus was typically severe in older adults and people with underlying health conditions. However, the 2009 H1N1 swine flu virus disproportionately affected young people. It’s unclear how this strain of H5N1 would affect people because human infections are rare.

O’Donnell said that given the amount of vaccine skepticism, as well as vaccine fatigue from the pandemic, the government would also likely need to begin a vaccine campaign to persuade people to get vaccinated.

“It’s very disheartening to see so much vaccine skepticism and vaccine fatigue,” she said.

I remember this being said also at the beginning of the vax program, but forget who the doctor was who said it.

I also remember a video from a woman who was a major hiring-agent for an American industry--if memory serves, it was the oil/gas industry. She was told to be prepared to replace "all personnel" who had received the shot within five years.

In order for her video to get past all the censoring in the US, she had to route it through two other nations (Germany was one; I forget the other) in order to get it posted in the US.

Anyone have a take on that website's historic performance?
Is it a shock site?

Coupled with a recent Dr. Campbell video with a person discussing what the MRNA vakks did and are doing to folks, it's quite disheartening and disturbing.

Disheartening and too close to home.

I send up a prayer that this doctor is flat wrong on this.

I checked and Slaynews.com isn't in the proscribed list, so here's more doomfest news headline from that site:

I'm not going to bring the entire article over, but I'm sure it'd be easy to find...

Did a little more investigation on virus and temps....it appears that virus is killed by boiling water...212F....and milk boils 212.9F only a bit higher than water
I feel comfortable using the ultra pasteurized milk which is heated to 280F rather than the pasteurized which is heated to 160F
I would guess that the shelf stable milk is most likely safe.. from BF but have not researched...it
We will continue to use the ultra pasteurized...milk products....
