Weird, we received $1200 deposit but not the $2400 we should have gotten. Anyone else get or getting separate deposits for married couples?
Both on S.S.

Well, just went and filled in the page with my SS # and bank acct.#. Then went and did my husbands # and instead of sending his to his checking acct., it said the deposit was going to my checking acct. Wonder if they will screw it up and we only get one payment instead of one for both of us.

Same here. When I entered the info they said it didn't match their records, kept trying with older address, etc, nothing. Finally blocked me.
Hallelujah brothers and sisters! I, even lowly I, almost fell over when the promised but never arriving sum finally arrived today!
now, even I, can pay my taxes...

Got our check today for the $2400 in check form even though we are on SS. Now we can drive the 75 miles to our bank and then drive the 75 miles back home.

I got $1200 direct deposit to my Wells Fargo checking account that normally gets my Social Security check. It ended up being used to buy a 1 oz gold Krugerand, well most of it anyway.:conf:

Wife and I haven't filed tax returns for years because all our state and federal pension monies are tax free. We live in central CALI. We got two direct deposits today for the $1.200 which will be finalized and accessible tomorrow.

My sister is on SSDI disability, and gets her check each month through direct deposit, so.gov already has her bank infol

her husband - on social security retirement - got his money on Wednesday. But she has not gotten any money yet, and the IRS website keeps telling her Payment Status Not Available.

her payment should have come out this week, but it is nowhere to be found.

I previously voted no.

Mrs Dandy checked yesterday, and direct deposit had occured. So yes, we finally got it.

For those who might not have seen the previous posts about this...

Both the direct deposits and the checks are going out in batches.

I have previously posted the schedule for checks which will be sent a batch a week for about 20 weeks...thru September 11th...based on your income level, starting at lowest reported annual incomes and working up to the highest incomes in $10,000 increments each week.

I have not seen a specific schedule for direct deposits but they are doing them in batches as well but on a bit faster pace.

We got ours last night. Thank God we didn't really need them, but their arrival made me think of the millions who desperately do. For someone whose been out of work for a month and a half to two months, a $1200 check arriving 40 or 60 days later is probably too little too late. Not that they're going to be unhappy to see it arrive, but during the waiting period that's plenty of time for the fridge and pantry to be emptied, the rent and utilities not to be paid and other catastrophes to be visited upon them.

A sudden lack of financial wherewithal is one of the biggest reasons to get prepped and to stay prepped!

Bureaucracy! We filed taxes, but didn't owe, so no bank info was given. However, we have both been on SS direct deposit for years. Monday "The Site" finally said it would be mailed May 1. Today (May 1) we received one check with the total for both.

I think if you file jointly it sends them both to the same place. DH and I both get SS, but for both of us on IRS it said no info. So I put in our bank account info on mine, then went to DH's IRS and that account was already on his.

BTW, I heard that if you enter bank info at IRS by any Tuesday morning, the next Saturday it will tell you when your date is. Worked for us; I gave them the info last week, and today the IRS site said that our DD will be May 6. If it's later on a Tuesday or later in the week it will be a week from the next Saturday. So, I guess dates, at least for those who enter the bank info, are updated every Saturday. Maybe...LOL!

Hmmm...I guess if they go off SS they're separate, but if they go off IRS, they're together?

We're on SS but i filled out the form anyway. First they said they were depositing it to the account and last time I checked they were mailing it on May 8th. Sounds so messed up!

Got a letter that it got snagged for hubby’s back child support I wasn’t expecting it but kinda sucks too since hubby and I are having some serious problems right now and I don’t even think he’s going to be here by the summer

I thought when mine came, it would go into my bank account, but the check came directly to me, today.

I decided to buy a spare dehumidifier for "just in case" my older one gives out....a hot summer with a damp basement is nothing I want to happen. I also was concerned that because big appliances are getting harder to get, maybe these also might.

I had an emergency over the weekend, with a water pipe breaking, so it cost a pretty penny getting a plumber out here...even on weekdays, they charge time and a half....I guess everything is considered an emergency, no matter if it is a weekday. (They only go out on emergency calls.) I was surprised to get a senior discount of 20%.)

So, even tho I had the money for that, part of this check is allocated for that, as well.

I read we will face higher taxes, this fall. I'm reading that even some townships are laying off workers to save money.

Would have gotten mine DDed 4/16, but nooo I flipped two numbers around in my account #...
They gave me a chance to correct bank info and still waiting on a date... Sigh...

Still no, and the Check Your Payment site doesn't tell me anything either.

That said, I moved last summer, changed my bank, and didn't file until April because I was waiting on a mis-mailed 1099.

Got my $2400 deposited today. (Married filing jointly). Haven't filed 2019 taxes yet and owed for 2018 so I had to wait till the option popped up on the IRS website to update my bank info for them. When I first started checking the website, it wouldn't even give me an option to update my bank info or anything else. After about a month of random checking, the "update bank info" button was there all of a sudden when I checked about a week ago.

Mine said mailed May 1. Haven't received the check yet. We need it for tires on the car, and a few other things on the car.

Saved, to glorify God.
If you get SS you should fill out the form and enter your bank info. The IRS doesn't have your bank info from a SS direct deposit. They didn't have mine and I filled out the form and my moneys now in the bank.
I didn't do anything and got it just as fast. SS had my bank info for direct deposit..

Ours arrived in the checking account last night. I had gone to the IRS website and entered our direct deposit info about two weeks ago. We usually pay the IRS every year.
