If you are in the area, and have a scanner, try listening in on the following frequencies:

453.9000 WRAB304 127.3 PL Fairgrounds 1 -- Primary Tulsa County Fairgrouds/ Expo Square
453.4000 WRAB304 127.3 PL Fairgrounds 2 -- Secondary Tulsa County Fairgrouds/ Expo Square
454.4125 127.3 PL Fairgrounds 3 Tulsa County Fairgrouds/ Expo Square

They have received a new license for a trunked system (ULS License - Industrial/Business Pool, Trunked License - WSEN283 - Bearcom Operating) (and I don't see them setup on the statewide Trunked system OKWIN) , but I don't know if that is up and operational for this event yet, and even if it is, they will probably have the feed going to one of those older frequencies. I'm betting that they are still using the ones above.

Trunked system:
Mobile radios:
451.5125
451.6875
451.7375
452.0125
Portable radios:
456.5125
456.6875
456.7375
457.0125

If you have a scanner, you could be listening in to the channels this week to see which ones are live and which aren't as well as getting a feel for what "chatter" is flowing over them.

I don't know about taking a scanner in to the fair, as that may set off alarms for them, but that may not be a bad idea if the fair is a large enough venue and if an issue crops up on the other end of it, it may give you a few minutes more time to get out.

Just a thought...

Omg. Hubby is making me go to the tulsa state fair friday morning simply because he got free tickets. We got in an out-n-out shouting fight about it. I lost. His only concession was friday morning when it shouldn't be too busy.

Can you not go? If he wants to go that badly, let him take a friend maybe?

In truth, a creative Terror Cell would use "relief trucks" as operational camouflage and bait... Show up at a disaster location, start distributing "aid packages," draw a crowd, then detonate the distributed packages and open up on the crowd.

We are so VERY vulnerable.
And then the "ambulances" show up and terrorists jump out of the back and mow down the survivors.

We should start writing a script for a movie!

In the light of the shipping and now the Teamsters strike (thank you MM), best pick up extra batteries, tin foil, spare parts, anti-freeze, oil filters, oil, etc.
Another security item might be a front door block, and maybe some motion sensor alarms. The sensor and monitor units I have use batteries. I keep the monitor in the bedroom. These are just examples, be sure to get the monitor that can use batteries.
Also, a small battery backup supply for your wifi router and blink/ring alarms/cameras, so you still have warning if power goes out.

I could not get the links to post, search Amazon with these key words:

1. driveway alarms wireless outside battery == should be the fourth one down with white boxes
2. night security door barricade == should be floor bracket and L-shape insert to block the door

Sorry about the lack of links. Maybe someone can find a way to get short link to these.
A door barricade ain't doin' shite, when the house has a 4' X 4' picture window, along with all of the other vinyl framed windows.

Y'all that live near or visit Tulsa should make sure to Check out Scheels when it opens... I stop by the one in KC every time i am there to look. They have always been well stocked.

Lock box in vehicle...should be ok on post...
At least it used to be.

When I worked at AAFES (Base Exchange store), I would get randomly picked out for a total and thorough vehicle search. Dog, metal detector and going into the cabin and trunk. If my insurance, registration and plate expiration date was expired, I was turned away.

The Army Post was much more lenient with me. Pizza delivery got the nth degree. I asked if they ever found anything and one guard told me they turned one guy away that had a hookah under his seat.

I never tried to bring my little metal friends to work with me. Didn't want to lose it or my job.

Heaven forbid they find a paperclip they think they own. Been there done that, not good when they don't put the seats or carpet back in and just say NEXT.

I had to go on post recently, made for an uncomfortable day, being without.
You had to pass through metal detectors to get on post?

"I may have heard of" several people who carried everyday on various posts and instalations.

Just through gate with a pass.

I had not been on post in awhile, didn't know how serious they were about security.

In the past, I did not unload sensitive items, but I was also on post more often and had recent knowledge of security levels.

I sort of have that with my house. It has a 1 3/4 inch thick solid oak door, and thick solid oak door frame. When it was my mom's house, she had someone come to install a deadbolt. The guy broke his Forstner bit trying to drill a hole for the installation. He said that he never saw such hard wood used in a door frame.
