You lost me…I’m saying no way are his parents hiding him under the dirt of their little raised garden bed.
I doubt that’s even doable.
They have money. He could be anywhere or right under LE’s nose in that house but he’s not under a garden.
Now where did I lose you at kiddo? lol

I misunderstood. No prob and I agree but obviously, someone put out that video so people are thinking along those lines.

At the link there is a picture of some white square people think is an underground bunker.

I am aware of 0 (0) underground bunkers in Florida...

Can You Have A Basement In Florida?
Florida’s water table sits too close to the surface for traditional, underground basements to be built. Florida also has so many swamps, lakes, aquifer systems, and other sources of groundwater that landlocked areas in the state won’t have normal basements either. The closest thing you will find is walkout basements (which are only partially submerged in hillsides) in specific areas of the state

The car plates proves his family helped him!! I hope they all pay for their crimes! Dog is the best!
Either that (car’s plate comes back to his grandfather) or he's a common thief on top of everything else.

If Dawg & his family of - not sure what to call them - catch this guy, I'll be impressed.

There are or were a couple at USF however they are in built up mounds. I think they are under the old UC. Gotta remember that all that land used to be Henderson Field during WW2.

The old Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home on Florida Ave in Lakeland has a basement. I know this because when we making funeral arrangements for my son we were talking about the building, since it was a style my son liked, with the funeral director and the topic came up. He told us that they did have a basement and even offered to show it to us. IIRC, my grandson took a peek. That area on Florida Avenue appears to be on a ridge, so it may be a limestone formation. I did not ask if there were other buildings in that area with basements. Since that time, the building has been sold and it is now an assisted-living facility of some sort. Basements are rare in Florida but they are here.

But we are talking about private residences.

I don't know anything about skip tracing and haven't really been following the Brian Laundrie/Gabby story. I do know a little about the AT. Yes it's like 2K+ miles long but it's like a great big small town. People know each other and keep track of each other, they see things and pass gossip up and down the trail.

There's a lot of people involved with the trail. There are the thru hikers and day hikers. Some hikers have hiked it more than once. Scouts working on the trail or walking it in troops. Various trail clubs that maintain sections of the trail and shelters along the trail. BTDT. There are or were non-profit search and rescue groups that specialize in wilderness rescues. There are park rangers who patrol, find lost hikers and help keep the peace. There's folk who provide trail magic, yes that's a thing. I've run into military from the UK on the trail. In and around Camp David? Hikers may or may not see our military. I guarantee you they're there. Property owners along the AT (not all of the trail is on government land) keep an eye on who comes and goes.

I'm not mentioning moonshiners, wild mushroom hunters, weed growers, poachers, Ginseng growers/poachers etc. No not going to mention them.

This isn't 1995. A lot of the trail follow ridge lines. Yes there are dead spots, lots of them. but in this day of cell phones? Cell service can be a short uphill hike away or available on the other side of the ridge.

Hiding on the AT? Might be easier said than done. Doing it long term without outside support? Is it possible his family hid caches along the trail and sent him the GPS coordinates? Possible. Still not seeing hiding out on the AT as a viable option.
I hiked the entirety of the AT in 2006, and over half of it again in 2009. This is a pretty accurate description of the place IMO as far as it goes.

But we are talking about private residences.
Two private homes in Lakeland, Florida listed for sale with basements.

1122 Success Ave, Lakeland, FL 33803 | MLS# L4924136 | Trulia
This one looks like it is a real basement, no pics, but it is mentioned in the description, sounds like it is used for storage and a mechanical room of sorts.

2214 Coventry Ave, Lakeland, FL 33803 | MLS# L4922646 | Trulia
This one appears to be more of a walkout-type basement. The pictures of the basement apartment area are right above the two end pictures, there are three or four pictures that appear to be the basement area.

Both of these houses are in the neighborhood of which I was speaking. I suspect there are more houses in this particular area with basements of one type or another. I would find it odd that the only two houses with basements are listed for sale at the same time.

ETA: Unfortunately I cannot run a report on solds with a basement.
