I have a feeling that the Israelis might kick this off, if they detect any movement of assets to target them, they won’t hesitate to light them up. They’ve been awful low key during this incident. Iran has directly threatened to hit Tel Aviv and Haifa.

How would the Iranians know the difference between an Israeli Strike and American Strike?

They wouldn’t, unless the Israelis claimed it. That’s what I meant when I said they might “kick this off”. If they hit Iranian targets in Syria like they do all the time, I think the shit could hit the fan region wide.

There's a lot of detail made clear by examining components of the fragments, capabilities and locations of the bombs origins, etc etc etc... we've all got eyes on eachother, not too many mysteries really...

This is a what if question. What if Solomeine was in Iraq traveling with biological weapons? Could that be a possibility? Could that have taken care of the weapon such as Ebola? Listening to different people talking there is more going on here than we know!
ALmost certain that the drone missile would NOT (repeat NOT) have produced sufficient heat to sterilise ANY normal containers for Level IV BioHazards.

In short, If we KNEW he was carrying we would have used a different tool.

Merkel to meet Putin in Moscow for talks on Mideast crises
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin amid growing tensions in the Middle East and elsewhere
By The Associated Press
6 January 2020

BERLIN -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to Moscow on Saturday to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin amid growing tensions in the Middle East and elsewhere, officials said Monday.

Merkel and Putin will discuss “current international questions," said Steffen Seibert, the chancellor's spokesman. Those will include Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Ukraine and bilateral ties.

"Russia is an important player on the world stage and as a permanent member of the (U.N.) Security Council it’s also indispensable when it comes to solving political conflicts,” Seibert said. Germany is currently a non-permanent member of the Security Council.

Germany and Russia are among the world powers that have been trying to salvage the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran after the U.S. withdrew from the agreement unilaterally in 2018.

Merkel has already spoken with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday about the situation in the Middle East, Seibert said.

Germany has offered to mediate between all parties following the killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani in a U.S. airstrike in Iraq last week.

Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, who will accompany Merkel to Moscow, spent “all weekend on the phone” with his European and American counterparts, his spokesman Rainer Breul told reporters.
He added that talks with the Iranian foreign minister were planned “soon.”

Germany may struggle to portray itself as an honest broker between Washington and Tehran, however.

Iran summoned Germany's charge d'affaires in Tehran to the foreign ministry Sunday to express annoyance over comments by German officials that suggested Berlin considered Soleimani's killing to be justified.

Asked to elaborate on about Germany's stance, Merkel's spokesman said that the killing of Soleimani “was preceded by Iranian actions,” citing attacks on Saudi Arabian oil facilities, tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

“We have always stressed, and perhaps this is an opportunity to do so once more, that we see these regional activities by (Iran) in particular in a very critical way and that they play a negative role in this region," Seibert said.

Hubby used to say something about confusing the enemy. I can't for the life of me remember the exact quote.

“The whole secret lies in confusing the enemy, so that he cannot fathom our real intent.”

― Sun Tzu, The Art of War

And it used to be a pretty common military toast - "Confusion to the enemy."

CAIRO, January 7 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, said in a tweet on Tuesday he met U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and discussed events in the region, along with efforts to maintain regional and international peace and stability.

The meeting comes after the killing of a top Iranian military commander, Qassem Soleimani, in a U.S. drone strike on Friday at Baghdad airport that has sparked a major escalation of regional tensions.

These things leave a LOT of pieces/parts laying around that have part numbers etc printed on them.

If it's in Hebrew it's an Israeli strike. If it's in English 50-50 it was the US.

I know nothing, but I speculate that Iran will use what they have before they lose it. They may assume that's sooner rather than later.

What is wrong with the date formatting, isn't that standard for the military?
Don't know about the actual document, but the military always writes the date as day, month, year.
It is that way on the English portion of the document.
Still that doesn't mean the document is real or fake.

#UPDATE: When we look at the distance between Iran & Diego Garcia we can see the logic behind deploying B-52’s there & not in Qatar, as Al-Udeid is within Iranian missile range Diego Garcia meanwhile is well out of Shehab-3 MRBM (2,000km) & Soumar cruise missile ranges (2,500km)

Man, you could hear a pin drop in here. So, I'll liven it up a touch.

The morning briefing at Langley must have been held in an auditorium. So many choppers shuffling there and DC and back and forth it wasn't funny. DC proper is on lockdown, even the facility that manages TriCare was squeaky tight. And the local news is still reporting about the uptick in security at local bases. Duh, that's pretty obvious.
I think within the next 2 hours the window opens for Iran to start their retaliation. DC clearly thinks it's going to happen, and locally.
There are no Coast Guard Dauphins (HH-65 choppers) running low speed intercepts in the DC ADIZ (air defense identification zone). Think it's all being handled by the F-16's flying CAPs (CAP-combat air patrols) over the DC area. Haven't seen them around.
Even the marine corps museum at Quantico is requiring ID for entry.

I hope that the US pulls out of most of Iraq and helps with the formation of a new country called Kurdistan. The Kurdish people are a loyal and great group. I've known many wonderful Kurds. I used to travel with the Peshmerga. They carry more respect than the US military, in Kirkuk anyway. One of the Peshmerga fighters that I knew showed me his battle scars one day. Wow, was he proud of his many battle scars, some extremely ugly. Anyway, this is the perfect time for the US to move into the NE portion of Iraq and assist with this new country formation. The US will have a long and loyal friendship in Kurdistan. The photo shows another Peshmerga fighter on the right along with a US SF Sergeant on the left. I knew both very well. Photo was taken in Hawijah, 14MAR05.

Via Pakistan... Just have to fit the warhead to a delivery device

The rumor back in the day was that right after the break up of the USSR, Iran bought 3 nuclear warheads and the techs that went with them from Tajikistan (once a satellite state of the USSR). Tajikistan used to have a large number of nuke missiles, so it was always a "plausible" rumor.
