DISASTER China's Three Gorge Dam in Danger

It looks like China now has its own version of California's Oroville Dam Crisis with the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangze River. It has been raining quite a bit the last few days/weeks causing massive flooding on the river, especially when combined with the kind of massive water releases, some of them not publicized very well, if at all.

In addition to the fake gold fraud, and the Corona Virus, we now have up to 400 million Chinese under flood threat. Finally, one of the major cities that would be impacted if the dam fails would be Wuhan, yeah, THAT WUHAN. A sort of great washing away scenario in the spiritual sense perhaps?

I assumed you expected India to take it out, in the opening bid of WWIII..
..this is tame, by comparison.

Took 7 years to build. I would not refer to that as rushed.
I might, that thing is ENORMOUS.

I've been following at this a bit, and I've learned to very very interesting things. 1st, apparently when dams are normally built they dig down into the bed rock and site foundations of the them inside the bedrock. In this case, that Dam is just sitting on the ground.

2nd, I was watching an Australian report on this and they had an Australian radar in Weather Channel. And I could have sworn I heard them say that there is a meter of rain expected this week in the Lands up river of the dam, as far up as to bit. In other words there is going to be a pile of water coming their way.

I would question the construction quality at this point. After seeing Michigan's dam fail this year. I wouldn't be surprised. I've seen vidios of Apartment buildings you can push your hand thru the cement walls in the new construction over there..

China is going to be an on-going ever stronger menace until somebody deals with it. By whom, and by whatever means, I won't be objecting.

Personally I think GOD is going to deal quite harshly with China and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near China when the final resolution lands square in their face.

This threat and potential failure has been long contemplated with this HUGE dam. Gee wouldn't that be a shame if it failed. That would be quite a mess, not to mention loss of electrical power and massive deaths and destruction. Oh well.....karma is a bitch.

One of the videos I watched had an engineer being followed by a western media guy. He was using a long stick to probe a dirt wall that was supposed to be solid and unable to stick the rod into it. So, here he is pushing the rod several feet into the wall that is designed, built and paid for to be solid and not allow any water seepage leading to a collapse. Well, that went down the tube. Then he started talking to the actual work crew, many of whom had not been paid on time, or had been shorted food etc etc
They finally admitted that it was a three level contract. What that means is the prime builder gets paid ALL the money for the project and is tasked with building it to codes, except he takes his 10 percent, or whatever and hires a subcontractor to actually build it, and he takes a cut out of it. Already, you have one quarter of the total budgeted amount skimmed off. And finally, you get the third contractor, the one that actually builds the wall, is budgeted to use ALL of the money to do so, except he takes another 10 percent off, which means before he, the third guy even moves the first pound of dirt for the wall, ONE THIRD OF THE TOTAL BUDGET IS VAPORIZED INTO SOMEBODY'S POCKET. Finally, finally, after it is all done, again about one third has been skimmed, you then have to get the inspector to sign off on it, but again, he takes his cut. The short line is this is the way they do things in China, and this is why it is such a farce.
I'm telling you all that whatever was "said" about the amount of money, or materials, or labor or inspection is total and complete bull shit under the communist barbarian system. And they don't give a flying #%%%% if the Three Gorge Dam goes down, kills 100 million people, and does 3 Trilion in damages cuz they got their cut already.

Oroville was nothing compared to Three Gorges.

So lets give this just a bit of thought. There is at least 1 Bio-Lab in Wuhan. If a huge wall of water were to hit and destroy the city then the lab and its containment facilities might be breached sending who knows what downstream. I don't think its in anyones best interest to have a glass jar of smallpox wash ashore 100 miles downstream for someone to find and open. It could make the kong-flu look small time

It was made by Chinese. Even chinese know not to trust anything made by Chinese. That's the real reason they won't allow open trade with America. Because Chinese people will choose american-made over Chinese made every single time.

I'm not qualified to juggle the relevant numbers, but the dam and basin is big enough that it warps the earth's crust. There is presumably some degree of flexing across the length of the dam. They said the apparent dam irregularity in the satellite view is from image stitching, and that's a provisionally acceptable answer. If it's actually deforming, we would not be getting a press release from China. I'm betting there are forces they have not properly allowed for, simply because this is the largest of its kind and there are always new things to discover. If it goes, it's going to be epic.

I thought of that, but it seemed so much like a bad thriller novel I couldn't post it - thank you for doing so - I mean so much of 2020 Is a LIVE Bad Thriller novel, almost nothing would totally shock me.

Satellite imagery capturing twenty miles in a single frame have to be melded together but would a single dam need multiple images? Kind of doubt that. Either that dam is shifting or someone intentionally messed with the picture to make the dam appear to be in jeopardy. I wouldn’t bet on it either way.

The image boundary might just intersect the dam. It feels iffy, but I called it provisionally acceptable.
