Will blood really flow through walls like that? Cannot imagine how much blood would be necessary. How many peeps were there? Four people are not going to go down easy unless they have been drugged or something.

And law enforcement said on TV, no not be alarmed as this does not pose a problem for the public. What? Since more than one person had to most likely kill these young people and there are murderers loose in the area, please don't be alarmed?

They point I was making by looking at zillow and looking at the accompanying map does not correlate with the address. infact it goes from 1104 to 1110 to 1118 across the street. The picture in the news looks totally different. Sorry should have explained vs assuming someone would see what I was looking at. I guess that makkes me the ass in assume. Now even numbers are on the east side of the street odd on west side street going north to south actually a dead end
the crime scene addy is 1122 king. You pulled up 1112 king, looks like. Now, you still reach 1122 KING by turning off QUEEN :: shrug :: this is why I have a map man.

Not through the wall, exactly. The wall studs stand on a floor 2x4 that's nailed to the floor plywood. Liquids can flow under that 2x4 if it's not tight to the flooring, so it could flow into the next room, or as in this case to the outside of the house. Then it flowed down under the exterior sheathing until it appeared on the foundation.

Blood will continue to flow from a body as long as the heart is beating. Once the heart stops blood flow stops and begins to pool to the lowest position in the body. Time of death is sometimes discovered by this observation. Given this data I would say victims may have pumped out or been taken into one room where blood gathered. Would have to look at the crime seen to give a better answer which is not going to happen.

This story has me intrigued. I find myself speculating often since we don’t really have much to go on. Here are some random thoughts.

The early comments of “targeted attack” and “no threat to the community” were possibly made because the police first thought that the two roommates who were home while this massacre happened had to have been involved. Remember, the police found them there, probably sleeping, and we know these two did not make the 911 call. Also, no sign of forced entry.

Since then, the police may have taken some blood alcohol levels the following day at noon, and these indicate that the two individuals could indeed have passed out and slept through all the turmoil. Still suspects, of course, but maybe they are telling the truth?

Local PD then realize they are going to need a bigger boat for this one, so they call in the FBI.

If so, carry your guns, young lads and lasses, and watch your steps. When a man with a knife meets a man with a gun…well, we do like happy endings, and this perp deserves some ammo delivered in bulk and free of charge.

Hmm.... a few more tidbits in here. Now I'm wondering if the house was near train tracks and if a roving serial killer got them. I'm also thinking the roommates did have locks on their doors and were passed out; otherwise they would have heard something. They apparently slept in til noon, when the bodies were discovered. Apparently kids are leaving the school in droves now.

Investigators are trying to halt some of the wild speculation about the University of Idaho murders:
They do not believe a man seen in a food truck livestream was involved in the killing. Same with the two roommates who are still alive.

Idaho college murders: 2 surviving roommates not believed to be involved, police say

ABC News

Police in Moscow, Idaho, investigating the fatal stabbings of four University of Idaho students said Friday that they don't believe the two surviving roommates are involved in the crime.
The victims, who were killed in a house near campus early Sunday morning and found hours later, were identified as Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Washington; Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Xana Kernodle, 20, of Avondale, Arizona; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, of Rathdrum, Idaho.
No suspects are in custody.

The victims were likely asleep at the time of the attack and each was stabbed multiple times, police said Friday, citing the coroner. Some had defensive wounds, police said. There is no indication of any sexual assault, the coroner said.
Two female surviving roommates were at the house at the time and were not hurt, according to Moscow Police Chief James Fry.
The Moscow Police Department also learned that Goncalves and Mogen used a private party for a ride home from Grub Truck at approximately 1:40 a.m.
It's believed the four students were killed between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday, Moscow Mayor Art Bettge told ABC News.
The surviving roommates were home when police responded to a call for an unconscious individual at the home at about noon, Fry said. The roommates were not the 911 callers, according to Idaho State Police spokesman Aaron Snell. The 911 caller's identity hasn't been released.

Police on Friday also released a map and timeline of the whereabouts of the victims in the hours before the killings.
Goncalves and Mogen -- lifelong best friends -- were in downtown Moscow Saturday night while Chapin and Kernodle -- who were dating -- were at the Sigma Chi house, police said.
At about 1:40 a.m., Goncalves and Mogen were seen on video at the "Grub Truck" food vendor, and then they took an Uber home, arriving at 1:45 a.m., police said. Authorities said Friday that the man seen in the Grub Truck surveillance video with the victims is not believed to be involved in the crime.
Chapin and Kernodle also got home around 1:45 a.m., police said. Chapin didn't live in the house where they were killed, but was sleeping over with his girlfriend, according to his mother, Stacy Chapin.
Police are searching for leads and urge anyone who saw "suspicious behavior, has video surveillance, or can provide relevant information" to call the tip line at 208-883-7180 or email tipline@ci.moscow.id.us.

Fry said they were killed in "an isolated, targeted attack".
Latah County prosecuting attorney Bill Thompson told ABC News that authorities have "more information on the nature and location of the wounds" than they are releasing publicly.
He said police are not releasing certain details of the crime because there's some information that only the suspect would know.

The murder weapon has not been found, officials said.
Snell did not reveal what type of knife was used in the killings but said authorities are going to local businesses to see if anyone recently bought a fixed-blade knife.
Snell described it as "a very complex and in-depth investigation."
As for having no suspects nearly a week later, Snell said, "It's very frustrating ... we would have loved to have solved this [immediately]."
Police said Friday that they've received nearly 500 tips and have conducted 38 interviews. Police also said they've collected contents from three dumpsters to look for evidence.

Thompson said it's unusual to not have a suspect or motive at this point, and noted that this case has brought in more resources and manpower to Moscow than he's ever seen in his 30 years as prosecutor.
"I wish we had the answers," he said.
Goncalves and Mogen had been best friends since childhood and "did everything together," Goncalves' sister, Alivia Goncalves, told ABC News. She said she finds some solace that the friends were together in their final moments.
Although Fry described the attack as "targeted," he said Wednesday, "We cannot say there is no threat to the community."
The University of Idaho is grieving the loss of four students who were found dead on Nov. 13, 2022.

Think it is telling that there was no sexual assault, and the # of wound/level of emotion involved. would have sworn that I read the food truck fella from the video had been interviewed, and neither he nor the surviving roomies were suspects at this time. . .

Okay got it right behind 1118. I swear I read 1112 and there is not even a 1112-13 or 14 goes straight across to 1118. But I see it now.

So he didn't know them, just walked in the door and started stabbing. 2 roommates' doors were locked so he couldn't get them. Or he didn't know they were bedrooms. Like I thought, maybe it is some drifter serial killer. Again -- is there a railroad track around there? Seems to me I remember a couple of serial killers (Forensic-type shows on TV) who used railroads. If so, it's really a horror show. If it IS by chance someone they knew or saw around, I'm going to be very shocked. Who would do that?

Well someone who was pathologically jealous would do that- if they were effin homicidally nuts, too. : (

Not sure about the railroad, but there is that row or two of trees right behind their backdoors, with parking on the other side, and all those apts. College kids, so people from other colleges and back home are in and out too. I've even seen it rumoured/raised that one of the deceased girls may have had a fans only account- tho you'd expect rape if a "fan" tracked her down.

The reason they think everyone is relatively safe now is the amount of anger in the attacks suggesting it was personal, is my take on it- but who's to say such a person doesn't hate everyone and everything? :((

New information from the police is that the roommates were not involved and are cooperating, and neither is the man seen with them at the food truck believed to be involved. Also, clarification that Ethan Chapin did not live there but was visiting Xana, his girlfriend. And that all victims were thought to have been asleep when murdered.

So I assume the couple would be in same bedroom. Would be hard for one person with a knife to kill two people in same room without one of them screaming very loud, getting to their phone or out of the room. Or something. Going room to room with single sleeping occupants would be more doable. Challenge to knife someone sleeping next to you without something going wrong for killer

Does anyone mention the name of the sorority that the victims belonged to? Did they live in a sorority house?

I’m trying to remember where I came across the idea that the sorority was connected to a FTX personality.

I think it was highly personal and not random. Someone ticked off the wrong person.

PG -- but to kill 4 people because you hate one?

Ins -- Yes they were all in sororities, the names are earlier in the thread.

mzkitty I believe you are remembering the Mexican National (illegal) that would ride the trains up from Mexico and through the United States randomly killing within a mile of the tracks. He was tracked down and caught by a Texas Ranger. He did do this for years before being caught.

2 roommates' doors were locked so he couldn't get them.

If you are a female living is a so called party house, why didn't they lock their bedroom doors for safety?

It appears that there is more to this than the cops are revealing.

Two female Idaho students among four killed phoned mystery man called 'Jack' ten times

  • Kaylee's sister, Alivea Goncalvez, has now revealed that her sibling and Madison had started making calls to a person named 'Jack' between the hours of 2.36am and 2.52am on the night of the massacre
Two female Idaho students among the four killed in a quadruple homicide near the University of Idaho on November 13 had made ten desperate calls to a mystery man called 'Jack' collectively.

Moscow police believe victims Kaylee Goncalvez, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were stabbed to death at their home near campus between 3am and 4am.

Kaylee's sister, Alivea Goncalvez, told Inside Edition that her sibling and Madison had started making calls to Jack, who she described to be a 'young man,' at about half past two on the morning of the brutal massacre.

'Kaylee calls Jack six times between 2.26 am and 2.44 am,' Goncalvez said.

'From 2.44 to 2.52 Maddie calls Jack three times, then Kaylee makes a final call to him at 2.52 am.'

Photos on social media posted by Kaylee show her with a young man named Jack - however it is unclear whether this is the same person she and Madison had been calling.

Its been revealed that Kaylee may have also had a stalker - the 21-year-old complaining about this person just months before her death.

Threat assessment psychologist speaks on Moscow murder

MOSCOW, Idaho — The search continues for the killer of four University of Idaho students as investigators try to piece together details. Moscow Police have said they don’t believe there is a threat to the community, and this is likely a targeted attack.

It was shared by Moscow PD on Friday that the coroner stated that the four victims were likely asleep, some had defensive wounds and each was stabbed multiple times. There was no sign of sexual assault.

In an interview with ABC, threat assessment psychologist Dr. Marisa Randazzo said investigators will likely be looking for various kinds of tactical gear.

“One of the things they’re going to be looking for, with the combat knife they’re looking for, one of the things we know from targeted attacks is that sometimes the individuals who carry them out will get to a point where they dress as what we in the field call a pseudo commander. They have tactical gear that really shows a commitment to carrying this out,” Dr. Randazzo explained.

Tactical gear is typically used by law enforcement and the military.

“They’re going to be looking for recent purchases of this combat knife they think may be involved, other tactical gear, a tactical vest, something that someone may be dressed at,” Dr. Randazzo added.

They’ll be asking witnesses in the area if they’ve seen anyone in that kind of gear.

Dr. Randazzo says it’s also highly likely there was only 1 killer. She said we typically don’t see knife attacks or stabbings that are carried out by multiple people.

Two other roommates were home at the time of the attack. They’re unharmed and Moscow Police said they don’t believe they’re suspects.

Those two roommates are cooperating with the police and they could play a big role in solving the case.

However, investigators are still relying on tips from anyone with any kind of information.

If you have information that can help police, you can call: 208-883-7180, or email: tipline@ ci.moscow.id.us
