The thread surely has changed, hasn't it.

Try WarMapper on Twitter, for the latest on Bakhmut.
Not much has changed since yesterday.

Also Moon of Alabama.

Please be safe everyone.

Regards to all.

Nowski
Yes, Nowski. BUT, this is a sign that the war conditions are changing. Consider the stages of grief.
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

We are witnessing this in our "witness". Don't be dismayed by it because it is a signpost. People are entering different stages at different times. The denial and anger are still strong in what I am hearing. Those who lost someone close have a different path than those who are really outsiders pretending to be insiders.

Here is the situation as it stands on Sunday, March 19, 2023:

Fighting

  • Ukrainian army says its forces outside the eastern city of Bakhmut are managing to keep Russian units at bay so ammunition, food, equipment and medicines can be delivered to defenders.
  • Russia’s Wagner mercenary group plans to recruit some 30,000 new fighters by the middle of May, its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin said.
  • Russian attacks killed two people and wounded 10 in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk on Saturday, a governor said, accusing Moscow of using cluster bombs in the attack.

  • Putin went to Crimea on Saturday on an unannounced visit to mark the ninth anniversary of Moscow’s annexation of the peninsula from Ukraine.

Diplomacy

  • A deal allowing the safe Black Sea export of Ukrainian grain was renewed for at least 60 days – half the intended period – after Russia warned any further extension beyond mid-May would depend on the removal of some Western sanctions.
  • Three senior US security officials held a video call with a group of their Ukrainian counterparts to discuss military aid to Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s chief of staff said.
  • President Xi Jinping heads to Russia on Monday hoping to deliver a breakthrough on Ukraine as China seeks to position itself as a peacemaker.

It used to be that TB2K was my number one "go to" for the latest and greatest on significant events.

But for a good while now, it has dropped to the bottom on the list. There are a few who know :jstr: that at one time, I would be logged into the forum at 5AM "banging on the keyboard like a chimpanzee".

Look at the time on my post . . . man, it is after 8:00 . . . for my first post of the day.

There are other sources out there.
Just saying . . .
Hold on minute! You are not a chimpanzee??? Oh my!

It's a different situation. Ukraine of 2023 is not East Prussia of 1945. First off, the Russian army is not as formidable as it was in 1945. Yes, their behavior is still bad but their military prowess is a shadow of what is was.
Part of that is true (Ukraine v East Prussia) and other parts are up for debate and have been since Feb. 2022.

But the actual point of the matter is this IMHO: She can get out now, as several million have already done. (spend the money on a train ticket instead of implants no matter the cost) Which may not be the case later. Later civilians may be caught up in the mix with military personal retreating.

Which was the case in the evac by boat out of Konigsberg. A mix of civilians and military retreating/escaping there, for in the Russians eyes made those ships a viable target. The Wilhelm Gasthof was torpedoed by a Russian sub it went down with over 10,000 people on board a mix of civilian (the majority) and military, and hospital personnel of which over 9,000 died.

Or as the case with my mother and be trapped in Berlin (Kyiv) when it fell to the Russians. And if that happens God help her.

Granted that is not the case now, but it can be in a few weeks. The point being IT CAN BE IN A FEW WEEKS.

But if she wants to enjoy her time in Kyiv instead, I say go for it. After all it's only war.

Dozens of Russian Missiles, Drones Strike Ukraine

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Widespread Russian attacks continued in Ukraine following the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights.

Ukraine was attacked by 16 Russian drones on Friday night, the Ukrainian Air Force said in the early hours of Saturday. Writing on Telegram, the air force command said that 11 out of 16 drones were shot down “in the central, western and eastern regions.” Among the areas targeted were the capital, Kyiv, and the western Lviv province.

The head of the Kyiv city administration, Serhii Popko, said Ukrainian air defences shot down all drones heading for the Ukrainian capital, while Lviv regional Gov. Maksym Kozytskyi said Saturday that three of six drones were shot down, with the other three hitting a district bordering Poland. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attacks were carried out from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov and Russia’s Bryansk province, which borders Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military additionally said in its regular update Saturday morning that Russian forces over the previous 24 hours launched 34 airstrikes, one missile strike, and 57 rounds of anti-aircraft fire. The Facebook update said that falling debris hit the southern Kherson province, damaging seven houses and a kindergarten.

According to the Ukrainian statement, Russia is continuing to concentrate its efforts on offensive operations in Ukraine’s industrial east, focusing attacks on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk province. Pavlo Kyrylenko, regional Gov. of the Donetsk province, said one person was killed and three wounded when 11 towns and villages in the province were shelled on Friday.

Further west, Russian rockets hit a residential area overnight Friday in the city of Zaporizhzhia, the regional capital of the partially occupied province of the same name. No casualties were reported, but houses were damaged and a catering establishment destroyed, Anatoliy Kurtev of the Zaporizhzhia City Council said.

The International Criminal Court said Friday that it has issued an arrest warrant for Putin for war crimes, accusing him of personal responsibility for the abductions of children from Ukraine, together with Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.

It is the first time the global court has issued a warrant against a leader of one of the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council.

The move was immediately dismissed by Moscow — and welcomed by Ukraine as a major breakthrough.

Its practical implications, however, could be limited as the chances of Putin facing trial at the ICC are highly unlikely because Moscow does not recognize the court’s jurisdiction or extradite its nationals.

UK military officials said Saturday that Russia is likely to widen conscription. In its latest intelligence update, the U.K. defense ministry said that deputies in the Russian Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament, introduced a bill Monday to change the conscription age for men to 21-30, from the current 18-27.

The ministry said that, at the moment, many men aged 18-21 claim exemption from military service because they are in higher education. The change would mean that they would eventually still have to serve. It said the law will likely be passed and come into force in January 2024.

U.S. Seeks to Head Off Any Chinese Call for Cease-Fire in Ukraine

A cease-fire would recognize Russia’s territorial gains, said a National Security Council spokesman.

WASHINGTON—The U.S. is trying to head off a potential proposal from Beijing for a cease-fire in Ukraine ahead of a Russia-China summit, saying suspending fighting now would help solidify Russia’s hold on Ukrainian territory

With Chinese leader Xi Jinping due to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow next week, the White House expressed concern Friday about China’s deepening ties with Russia during the Ukraine war. That makes a potential call for a cease-fire a one-sided proposal to Russia’s benefit, said John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council.

“A cease-fire now is again effectively the ratification of Russian conquest,” Mr. Kirby said at a news briefing. Such a move, he said, would recognize Russia’s territorial gains and occupation of Ukrainian territory while giving Moscow a chance to entrench its positions and refresh its troops as Ukraine prepares for an anticipated spring offensive.

The pre-emptive criticism of a possible cease-fire proposal is a broadening of a Biden administration effort to use public statements and disclosures to try to narrow Beijing’s room for maneuver with Moscow, including by projecting itself as a mediator, according to former officials and foreign-affairs analysts.

In recent weeks, U.S. officials citing intelligence have publicly warned that Beijing is considering providing lethal weapons and capabilities to Russia, going beyond trade in goods like drones and jet parts that have both civilian and military uses. Mr. Kirby reiterated that concern, though he said the U.S. has no evidence China has done so.

China has been trying to pose as an alternative power to the U.S., shepherding a diplomatic detente between adversaries Saudi Arabia and Iran and issuing initiatives urging new thinking on global security. That message, foreign policy specialists said, resonates at home and with many developing countries grappling with the Ukraine conflict’s impact on food prices and energy supplies.

“It creates the illusion of China trying to play a constructive role,” said Janka Oertel, an East Asia security specialist with the European Council on Foreign Relations think tank. “It’s part of a broader framing exercise that is currently taking place that is not actually pro-peace or pro-Russian. It’s just an anti-American one, because it works really well in the moment.”

Beijing hasn’t formally called for a cease-fire or offered a peace proposal. A position paper China’s Foreign Ministry issued last month on what it called “the Ukraine crisis” called for a political settlement and said all parties should work toward ceasing hostilities.
In announcing next week’s Moscow summit, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Friday that Mr. Xi’s visit will “be a trip for peace.”

“China will uphold an objective and fair position on the Ukraine crisis and play a constructive role in promoting talks for peace,” the spokesman, Wang Wenbin, told reporters in Beijing according to an official transcript.
Beijing, however, is benefiting from the Ukraine conflict, and officials as well as Dr. Oertel and other specialists expect that the upcoming Moscow summit will see Messrs. Putin and Xi push their governments’ already close relations further forward.

Messrs. Putin and Xi have met dozens of times. While the Moscow gathering is their second in-person meeting in half a year, it’s Mr. Xi’s first trip outside China since he was given a third term as president, a largely ceremonial title conferred by the national legislature earlier this month, capping his dominance of the Communist Party.
The two leaders see common cause in trying to diminish U.S. power. As Moscow prosecutes the Ukraine war, China has increased its purchases of Russian energy, often at a discount, and expanded the use of its currency in the countries’ two-way trade. The war is also forcing the U.S. to focus on security in Europe, when the Biden administration is trying to devote attention to countering China.

If Beijing is interested in peace, the National Security Council’s Mr. Kirby said, Mr. Xi should speak directly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The two aren’t believed to have spoken since Russia launched its full-scale invasion nearly 13 months ago, though Mr. Xi is expected to talk with Mr. Zelensky next week, as part of China’s push to be a more-active mediator.

As Russia and China lay out the agenda for the Putin-Xi meeting, Mr. Kirby said the U.S. wants to draw attention to any Chinese proposal for a cease-fire that would “be one-sided and reflect only the Russian perspective.”
Mr. Kirby, when asked by reporters, said he couldn’t speak for Mr. Zelensky and whether he would accept a Chinese-backed proposal. “We certainly don’t support calls for a cease-fire that would be called for by the PRC in a meeting in Moscow,” Mr. Kirby said, referring to the People’s Republic of China.

Mr. Zelensky has taken a different approach with Beijing, so far, commending the 12-point Chinese position paper on Ukraine. Mr. Zelensky, however, stressed the Chinese paper’s emphasis on territorial integrity. His foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said he also “discussed the significance of the principle of territorial integrity” in a phone call Thursday with his Chinese counterpart.

“We also hope that President Xi will reach out to President Zelensky directly because we continue to believe that it’s very important that he hears from the Ukrainian side as well and not just from Mr. Putin,” Mr. Kirby said.

Lindsey Graham clashes with audience member at South Carolina presidential forum over Ukraine
Katelyn Caralle

6–7 minutes

Lindsey Graham snapped at an audience member while claiming those who support family values should also back the U.S. sending billions of aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia.

A man in the audience at the Palmetto Family Matters Conservative Forum in Charleston, South Carolina told Senator Graham that he is 'not a real conservative' and accused him of being a 'warmonger' during two separate outbursts.

The combative senator refused to let the attendee at the early presidential forum in his home state overshadow his wide-ranging discussion where he defended supporting Ukraine despite other Republicans calling for the 'blank check' to be rescinded.

'That was one guy,' Graham told DailyMail.com after his remarks, clearly unbothered by the clash.

'I think the guy's a nut,' he added. 'I thought most people agreed with what I said.'

rest of article at link- but def need to add this one to the needs smacked list!

yea, sweetie gets up before me to take the dags out . . . because it is my job to monitor the crazy Aussie the rest of the day to stop him from getting growly and snippy with the other dogs.

When I get up, I get my coffee and a smoke and she joins me to give me updates.
She parses through two proscribed sites and filters out the garbage and the woo and provides her report.
The proscribed sites? . . . LOL . . . ATS and GLP . . .
I thought it was bad when Glenn Beck, Alex Jones, and Cliff High started showing up as reliable news sources.
And now ATS and GLP? How is that even possible?

What I've done is watch the reliable folks who post here. When they post a reasonable source, I go to the source and bookmark it. Every once in a while, I sort bookmarks by priority and in the mornings I simply run down the list of bookmarks. After that, I check TB2K to see if there was anything I missed.

Or you can wait . . . most of it shows up here at some point along with all the other stuff.

I've been held upside down and shaken . . . not stirred . . . as requested.
Gotta tell you, I never knew of these two, ATS and GLP.
Is ATS = Above Top Secret site?
And is GLP = Godlike Productions site?

Thanks for sorting out those acroynms- I did not know them either.

It probably wouldn't hurt if we had a thread devoted to just all the sources of info and deep dives into the different areas- we've had tuns shared that might be getting lost in the all the white noise.

What I feel has been missing, or that I'd like to see personally, is more quality maps of different engagements. I didn't grow up playing with lil green men and recreating famous battles, so it takes me longer to puzzle out what a "pincher move" or whatever is, and seeing it graphically depicted helps me personally. :; shrug :: I also like sources for information directly from the source- much like whole foods are more nutritious, I prefer my news to be as unprocessed by others as possible.

Several people are taking a little time away from this thread.
I've noticed that. I would opine that several others are close to taking a little vacation from this as well - which may include me, truth be told. I've tried to stay away from the mud, the blood and the beer fracases which spring up from time to time, but there's just times that enough is enough, and people stray over the line for a bit before they get calmed back down.

Nobody blames you (or anyone else) for an even-handed approach trying to keep this bunch at least civil.

Two of the best sources of background/historical information are presented by 1: Big Serge ( Russo-Ukrainian War: Schrodinger’s Offensive ) I wish he'd write more often but his posts are long anyways. Just absolutely great clarity when trying to decipher ongoing events. Best way I can describe his work is being able to focus on granular details without losing the 30,000-foot overall view.

And #2 is yalensis' site Awful Avalanche ( Awful Avalanche ), in which he often covers more obscure cultural/historical notes than battlefield updates. He often references on-scene reporters in the battle zones, as does Patrick Lancaster (an American reporter who has been in Donetsk reporting on daily Ukrainian artillery barrages since before the conflict went hot).

Speaking of Lancaster, I don't know where to find his videos other than Telegram. There are a LOT of independent video reporters on Telegram, btw. One of the more interesting ones is the Donbass Devushka channel - her recent reporting about the Russian women who are trying to take care of the people in Donetsk who've been left behind was some great work. The young woman who's leading that organization was the world's greatest female powerlifter who's left that behind to do the charity work - it's misleading because she is more attractive than any NFL cheerleader.

One doesn't generally see any Russian source work on YouTube, only Ukrainian origins because of Alphabet's demonetization of unapproved narratives - and yes, that includes the onetime Al Gore-owned al jazeera channel to which I pay no more attention to anymore because it's simply parroting a single point of view but disguising that fact. The best sources of independent info seem to be Telegram, rumble and bitchute followed by Discord, rockfin and Locals (where you'll usually find TheDuran if their daily video updates aren't yet posted on Telegram).

As far as maps. the best sources I've found are Larry Johnson (Home - A Son of the New American Revolution), Brian Berletic (New Atlas) in which he offers commentary on the daily updates of liveuamap.com, and others who will put out daily mapping analyses. I don't know exactly where Johnson sources his maps, but being ex-CIA, he does have some good ones, especially the video ones which auto-update over a period of time.

Belarus Cracks Down On Pro-Ukraine Guerrillas As War Threatens To Expand | ZeroHedge

by Tyler Durden
SUNDAY, MAR 19, 2023 - 05:00 PM

The Belarus government is implementing widespread measures to crack down on dissent as pro-Ukraine guerrillas attempt to sabotage railways and other logistics that could be used by Russia for a future offensive from the north.

The move comes not long after the guerrillas, part of an organization called BYPOL, used two armed drones to damage a Russian Beriev A-50 parked at the Machulishchy Air Base near Minsk. The early warning aircraft was lent to Belarus for monitoring the security of their southern border. The attack failed to destroy the plane beyond minor repairs according the the Belarus government, but did garner BYPOL headlines in the western media.

What they did not report was that the primary perpetrator of the attack was apprehended along with 20 other accomplices. Belarus claims that at least one of the guerrillas has ties to Ukrainian security services, though this remains unconfirmed.

Last month, President Alexander Lukashenko warned that:

"I'm ready to fight together with the Russians from the territory of Belarus in one case only: if so much as one soldier from (Ukraine) comes to our territory with a gun to kill my people."

If BYPOL attacks continue within Belarus they may provide the very rationale that Lukashenko needs to justify joining military forces with Russia, which would open up the northern border of Ukraine to attack and likely deal a devastating blow to the nation's defensive posture.

Acts of sabotage have already been used as fuel for civilian restrictions including the issuance of arrest warrants for numerous activists as well as at least five journalists, two of them now sentenced to 12 years in prison for a variety of charges including “Tax evasion, organizing activities aimed at inciting racial, ethnic, religious, or social hatred, and public calls through the media and the Internet aimed at damaging the national security of Belarus.”

The Belarus government seems to have abandoned optics in favor of policies akin to martial law, which suggests a near term plan to join Russia militarily as well as to wage an anti-insurgency effort against BYPOL. Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik stated at the end of February that the accelerated militarization of the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) represents a threat to his country's security.

Lukashenko has launched a diplomatic tour, visiting allies of Russia and Belarus in an effort to strengthen ties. He was recently welcomed in Iran, which has been involved in economic support of Russia in the midst of heavy NATO sanctions. The president's statement to the Iranian leadership appeared to stress the view that the US was a shared enemy of the two nations:

Video -- R/T 2:22

View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2ZKEi4nbIQ

Lukashenko has been accused by western governments of election fraud and vote rigging to defeat his opponent, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, in the 2020 elections. Most evidence of fraud comes from the testimony of poll workers, and if true constitutes an egregious violation of voter trust. However, it should be noted that Tsikhanouskaya has been embraced by the globalist World Economic Forum, which raises suspicions about the intentions of her candidacy. She has also been announcing reforms for Belarus as if she has the power to implement them; perhaps assuming that she will eventually be installed as president sometime in the near future.

While the Belerus crackdown is itself a display of oppression if all the accusations are true, it also highlights the domino effect of NATO involvement in the region leading to wider instability. The Ukrainian government has also been accused of numerous trespasses against civilian rights with the country aggressively enforcing martial law, and these questionable actions are supported by US and EU tax dollars.

The governments of the US and Europe refuse to acknowledge that Ukraine is a full blown proxy war against Russia, but the results are clear and the consequences could be catastrophic. Eastern nations including the BRICs are beginning to gravitate to each other not just economically but militarily, which one might think is the opposite of what NATO would want. At the same time, Ukrainian support for guerrilla operations in Belarus, if proven, could justify expansion of the war.

5k Subs Milestone: Thank You, And What's In Store

Some big updates for the blog.

Simplicius The Thinker

Mar 3

Greetings all, I wanted to mark the milestone of reaching 5,000+ subscribers and give a big thanks to all of my supporters who made it happen, and a few blog updates.

So firstly:

Thank you!

Your support means a lot, and the meteoric rise of the blog was very unexpected. As many of you have pointed out and sent to me in messages and emails, our reports here have appeared on a variety of larger syndicated networks. We’ve been featured everywhere from Larry Johnson’s Sonar21, to Mark Wauck’s ‘Meaning in History’, to Alexander Mercouris’ Podcast, and even the front page of The Gateway Pundit, and probably others I’m not aware of. And it’s all thanks to many of you more prolific readers and regulars of all those other top sites, who continue to share my work there. I see many of you famous ‘regulars’ from the Saker comments section, MoonofAlabama, and many others, and it’s like seeing familiar old friends in the corner pub. It makes the world feel smaller, and more connected—in a good way.

As many of you now know, or have figured out, I am in fact Nightvision from TheSaker blog. So for those of you who’ve found me here, I’m glad to have you back as readers. Oddly enough, when I started this blog I hadn’t yet known that Saker was planning on closing his, and it was on one hand a strange bit of synchronicity, as a reader aptly put it—when one door closes, another opens.

However, I do think it’s more than simple serendipity or magical ‘coincidence’. In fact, it seems the same culminating critical mass and crisis point of the SMO led to both. In Saker’s case the ‘point of no return’ of the situation appears to have led to his decision, and in my case the sense of great coming escalations led me to open the blog because I sensed another voice would soon be necessary to help distill the chaos-field of information/disinformation.

Of course, that’s not a slight on Saker; he put in decades of invaluable work to this field. And to see it all come to naught with the type of lunatic, eschatologically self-destructive escalations currently developing would be enough to dismay anyone into hanging up the gloves.

p.s. you can still find the Nightvision archives here. However, they appear to have all the media/attachment/photos stripped. I have the full copies backed up and do plan to upload them as archives either here or somewhere else in the future. But for now, if anyone wanted to reference just the text versions, they’re still at that Saker link.

edit: wayback machine seems to have the un-altered archives: The Vineyard of the Saker | The Vineyard of the Saker | Sitrep: Operation Z

Not to toot our horn, but to this day this one particular article remains essential reading, as no one else has covered the important Moskva flagship sinking with the depth that we have—nor to this day does anyone else appear to truly understand what happened to the cruiser, which we already revealed long ago: Sitrep: Operation Z | The Vineyard of the Saker

Operation: Full-time

The other big announcement is, because of the overwhelming success of the blog thus far, thanks to your patronage, I’m making an attempt to transition full-time into doing this. As many of you know, I run not only the Bitchute channel where I have uploaded over 8000 videos to date since the start of the SMO—yes this equals to over 20 per day, 365 days a year, with full commentary, etc. But also a backup Odysee channel and now recently a Twitter as well.

To manage all of these while also writing long-form, on a consistent basis here and doing my other bread-winning side-hustles is not possible. I could write more sporadically here, but I want to commit to as regimented a schedule as possible, with the same regularity of articles and reports I’ve managed to maintain so far. The goal is to be able to consistently release at least one publication per day, be it Sitrep or longer, researched works—at least for the foreseeable future.

So I’ve opened up the payments and many of you have already massively supported with paid Pledges, to which I’m eternally grateful. But to fully transition to doing this fulltime would require more. That’s not to put pressure on anyone, as I’m already more than happy with the Pledgers thus far—however it’s merely a soft call for anyone who might’ve been on the fence, that I would greatly appreciate the financial support so I can truly commit to this full-time.

And with that said, I’m also now opening a Tipjar by way of BuyMeACoffee.com - Simplicius is Thinking.

This is for those who understandably don’t want to commit to the standard monthly payment scheme built into Substack. If you wish to just ‘tip’ me once, or from time to time, or on the basis of merit for an article you particularly enjoyed, then you can do so via this link: Simplicius is Thinking.

Future

I’m currently outlining some plans for the future of this blog, which includes expanding it into other topics/genres as well. I have many other things to say which are adjacent to, or overlapping with political/geopolitics/military. So I plan to slowly start rolling out some testing feeler articles that revolve around such topics as futurism/transhumanism/contemporary-thought/technology, etc.—particularly things more off-kilter, and maybe experimental. But worry not, this here will still be the priority—I simply plan to experiment with other related thoughts from time to time.

In fact, I’ve started a new subdomain which is still under the umbrella of my main account here, but it allows me to keep the two separate while also redesigning the ‘style/look’ of the page:

I would hope someday our forum will update to accommodate bitchute videos.

Avdeevka Encirclement + US Prepares Ukraine for "Last Chance" Offensive, Surging Ammunition

The New Atlas

Update on Russian military operations for March 20, 2023:

- Russian forces are not only encircling the fortified city of Bakhmut, but now also apparently Avdiivka;

- Both cities are heavily fortified positions along Ukraine’s main defense line in the Donbass region and their encirclement will compromise the entire defense line;

- Western media continues admitting critical shortages of Ukrainian manpower, weapons, and ammunition;

- As Ukraine is preparing for its spring offensive, the US and its allies are likely utilizing emergency stockpiles to surge the amount of artillery and rocket ammunition to Ukraine in amounts much higher than have recently been transferred;

- This surge is a one-time possibility after which Western stockpiles will be exhausted and future shipments will depend mainly on monthly ammunition production which and will be for several years unable to match or exceed Russian ammunition supplies;

- Ukraine is being forced to organize a massive offensive using poorly trained troops operating equipment they are unfamiliar with against Russian forces who have been preparing to meet this offensive months in advance;

- Ukrainian forces could once again compel Russian forces into withdrawals but will suffer immense losses before facing counteroffensives comprised of 350k Russian reservists;

I'd like to add Gonzalo Lira as an excellent, if highly opinionated, resource. He's an interesting journalist: a Chilean citizen, raised in California, and a veteran first-hand observer of revolutions and civil wars.

He's very good at connecting the dots, and currently delivers his podcasts from Lviv, in the Ukraine. Be aware that he's a devout Roman Catholic, and blames many of the world's current problems on a hidden cabal of Jewish bankers.

Ahead of Xi's visit to Moscow, @samagreene explains that, "Kyiv, Washington, Brussels are beginning also to think about what the world looks like after the war. What Ukraine looks like after the war. There is going to be a lot of work to be done on reconstruction. Everybody is interested to see what kind of role China might want to play in that."
