Nothing says "inflation reduction" like a new IRS rule that gives coal plants a 100% tax credit for 10 years if they DESTROY their plants. Remember that the next time you pay your energy bill.

Go woke, go broke...Got an email from Penzey Spices offering a $50 gift card (which you can use yourself at anytime) for only $35! That's a 30 percent discount off the top. And just wait for a free shipping promo. I doubt he even breaks even on his cost.
He admitted that the boycott against them is becoming more and more effective. Penzey is notorious for being extremely pro gay (he is "married" to a man). And he routinely blames Republicans and conservatives for just about everything.
Sounds like Penzey really needs the cash. The actual herbs and spices are good quality.
I as still using blocks of cheese similar to the ones pictured above, which were handed out during the 2020 Farmers to Families program under the Trump administration.I drove to my local grocery store yesterday and scored more marked down cheese. One lb blocks for $3.00 each. The sell by dates were end of January for cheese already aged 12 months. What's a few more weeks gonna do. I'm making mac n cheese this week. Just need pasta, which I'm out of at the moment. Still need to find Grandma's recipe. I haven't had mac n cheese since I visited 12 Bones in NC around 2010.
Notice the price the Cuba cheese factory charges. It ain't cheap. I saved like $24.00.

The wealthy, and even the middle class, people invested in the stock market are running for the exits. Wise men are predicting a big market crash, so wen that happens people want to invest in hard assets.
Land, Real Estate, Precious Metals, Collectables, even high end artworks are the go to for many with market acrophopia.
Find out where to get the coupons; ours come in the mail. I occasionally get the Whopper meal. At $6,99 still a lot for me but beats the regular prices.Burger King today. 2 Whopper Combos 25.00 and some change.
Like, should we make some sort of preparations or something? Asking for a friend. This is going to be a rare "everything" market.
There will be hardly anything not effected by the massive waves of deflation coming.
Great Depression, version 2.0 even worse then the first.
Like, should we make some sort of preparations or something? Asking for a friend.
Well...

My stock portfolio does show a concern. All my stocks are companies who are not going to go out of business on their own. They manufacture a product and pay a dividend. If the stock market drops, prices for stock are more affordable and they still pay dividends, for which I re-invest.
If it is the ultra-crash and the companies disappear, it doesn't matter because there won't be an economy or money based commerce, be it cash or fiat debt script. No worries here about that.
You are doing EXCELLENTLY, I only point out 2 things that you must surely have taken care of if you have planned so comprehensivly. THAT IS your physical and spiritual health. Reassure me.Well...

Actually sounds about right. An 8 pack of Pillsbury Grands (the big ones) is running around $2.98 at Walmart. Have to remember that these things were in real short supply during the Covid years (hahaha...when people had to try to do for themselves) and I suppose the manufacturer got used to selling them at a premium price. I don't buy them very often, but when I do, usually go for the grocery store brand. Cheaper and samey/same.What are they charging for BISCUITS nowdays????
My daughter did some grocery shopping for me at ALBERTSONS yesterday and I! noticed on the grocery receipt she was charged $1.99 For one can of refrigerated biscuits. BUT THESE WERE
THE SMALL BISCUITS, NOT THE JUMBO, AND IT WAS A HALF SIZE CAN OF PILLSBURY (ONLY 5 BISCUITS) .
Is $2!
What is a small size can of
SMALL BISCUITS is really going for, or is It just mispriced?
If that is correctly priced the jumbo biscuits must be selling for $5 a can!
I expected to see $.50 or $.75 at the most.
BOY, YOU REALLY GOTTA WATCH WHAT THEY. RING UP, OR CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!
Biscuits are too easy make. I've never tried already made except in those bacon egg cheese ones.Actually sounds about right. I wouldn't want that spread around my land. I've been using vegetable oil for decades, on chainsaws, mountain bikes, etc...DH uses used motor oil for his chain saws

I've started doing this as well. I bought a 4.5 lb boneless pork loin and sliced for pork chops. Protein for 5 meals under $15.I’m starting to use my vac sealer, pork roast are about $6 for one but are $8.50 for a two pack. winco in Sw Wa. I’m looking for other stuff to buy bulk and then break the package down.
Way back in the Olden Days (like 13 years ago) when I became a stay at home wife, I developed a legitimate obsession with coupons, tracking sales, I still have all the cool recipe pamphlets from 1910s-1940s about food stretchers and such.I've started doing this as well. Its two weeks since anyone posted in this thread. I couldn't remember the exact name and didn't think about searching until I'd scrolled through many pages to find it.
Eggs are coming down but feed is not. Its unlikely feel will, its been inching up.
I do agree, its sad that we just accept the "new normal". But it is what it is. If there is something that I want, if its not totally out of sight price wise, I get it. I got a new kind of zero carb street taco tortillas today with tomato and basil, pricey but I want to try them.I think for most of us, the shortages are pretty much over, and everyone has gotten over the shock of having to pay higher prices for everything. Everyone has pretty much settled into the "new normal".

Exactly, and if I treat my self with something now and later there is nothing and no money, then I've been there done that.I'm the same way when I go shopping, within reason. Better to pay the higher price now and get what you want and need than to have to do without when nothing is available to get later on, or no money to buy it with.
